Merry Christmas 🎄

"In a scary place where nothing should be taken for granted."

O N W A R D S;

Caleb had tucked the deranged message and pictured into his jacket pocket right after he'd received it yesterday. The crippled pieces of paper still safely sealed away. He hadn't had time to think about what his next action would be but he knew he needed to inform Adrian but with Georgia staying at his house for the weekend the task seemed virtually impossible. He had to speak to her brother in private. Fortunately, Caleb was now on his way to drop Georgia home.

His girl was totally oblivious to the impending danger she was or was going to be in as she twisted the volume button in his car to high, "I love this song!" She blurted out before proceeding to sing along.
Caleb looked at her from the drivers seat and smiled, before his mind drifted back to the matter of hand. Caleb was unsure of what Sloan's note meant— was it a serious threat? Or was he just trying to scare them?

Unknowingly his eyebrows creased together which caught Georgia's attention, "What's wrong?" She asked, turning down the volume "You look like something is bothering you?"
Caleb shook his head putting on a smile, "No, it's nothing. Work mostly." He lied.
He heard her hum, "I thought work was going well? Did a deal fall through?"
Caleb hated that she was so attentive, it made it difficult to get anything past her. Guess in her defense that was an asset—

"No, nothing like that. Just tired, you know." He sighed, halting at the red light.
He felt her suddenly entwine their fingers, "You know you can come and talk to me about anything right, even the smallest thing."
He leaned forward and pecked her lips, "I know baby."
He wished you could tell her about what was happening but no, her family, or more importantly her father was against her even knowing Sloan existed.

Soon enough, he pulled up outside her house and walked around to open her door for her.
"Thank you." She kissed his cheek and she dug into her bag for her keys.
Caleb was walking close behind and would have hit her back if he wasn't looking when she suddenly stopped.
"That's funny—" she muttered to herself.
"I swore I had locked the door"

Caleb's ears perked up at her statement and looked at her front door that was slightly open. The wooden door had a dent on the edge as if someone had forced their way through and Caleb went rigid. Georgia went forward to enter but Caleb caught her hand.
"Georgia, wait here!" He whispered to her.
Georgia gave him a quizzical look but let him go before her.

Cautiously, Caleb pushed the door open and took in the contents of the totally trashed living room. Behind him he heard Georgia gasp, "Oh my god!" She exclaimed.
He turned around and glared at her for talking which made her step back outside and cover her mouth with her hand, he could still be in the house. Caleb went through every room in her house on alert, only to see that was it all overturned and messed up. Her curtains had been ripped and her couches in a different part of the room than where she'd left them.

In the kitchen the fridge door's were open and broken glasses surrounded the floor. Caleb entered into her bedroom to see her drawers thoroughly thrown all over the room as well as her clothes scattered all over the floor. The bed however, was nothing like the rest of the house. It was neatly made with her navy blue sheets folded around the edges of her bed and Caleb sucked in a breath at the rose petals in shape of a heart in the middle of bed. What had immediately caught Caleb's eye was in the center of the heart, an S that seemed to be cut through the sheets with a knife that had been left on the floor beside the bed.

Caleb exited the room and returned to find Georgia pacing outside the door. He whipped out his phone and dialed the police reporting a break in.
"The police should be on here soon." He told her.
She nodded reaching out to him and he quickly collected her in his arms, "Do you think it was random?" She asked quietly.
Caleb gulped down the sudden bitter taste in his mouth not wanting to lie to her.

He shook his head, "I don't think it was random." He frowned a little at the confusion etched on her face.
"What? But who would......"
Caleb bit his lip suddenly aggravated, he knew her family didn't want her to regain any memories of Sloan because they were afraid that she wouldn't be able to handle it but Caleb knew better. He needed to tell her, the most important reason being her safety and right now that was all he cared about.

"Georgia, do you remember who Sloan Hall is?"
