It is the same day as the last chapter. Nothing has happened and they're all still at Lucas' house. Enjoy!

"SYD! Where are you?" I shouted up the stairs.

"She's in the shower, she'll be out in a sec. Well, at least I hope she will. She has been in there for over an hour and a half," Lucas replied from behind me. Typical Sydney, taking forever in the shower. I walked up the stairs and went into the spare room I had slept in and decided to wait for her to come out.

45 minutes. I waited 45 minutes for Sydney to come out of that bathroom.

"What the hell took you so long?" I asked her when she finally came out.

"It's nice to see you too. I'm guessing that you're no longer hungover with the way you were shouting. I could hear you over the running water and music." She was fully dressed and her makeup was done in a natural, simple way. Her long red hair was still wet, dripping as she got the towel in her hands and attempted to dry the ends of her hair.

"Did you know about me messaging Jace last night?" I bluntly asked. Syd and I know everything about each other and my normal loud way of speaking increases when I have been drinking. Syd has also previously told me that I tell her everything when I am drunk. Everything I am doing, thinking, feeling, everything so, when I asked Syd I almost already knew her answer however, what I didn't know was if she was going to tell me.

"Hmm? What do you mean?" She asked me and looked up at me where she was previously on her phone. She looked confused but like I said, she is a good actress.

"Sydney, cut the bullshit," I told her, annoyed with the way that she was acting.

"Okay, geez. Yeah, I knew and I might have slightly encouraged you," she said making a face whilst saying the last part. I raised my eyebrows at her in a 'what the hell' type of way. "Only slightly though." Syd put the towel she was drying her hair with down on the king-sized bed allowing her to put her hands up next to her face in a surrender type of way.

"Is Ivy holding you at gun point or something?" Lucas jokingly asked standing on the threshold of the room.

"Lucas was in on it too!" Syd exclaimed, running over to him and pulling him into the room by his arm. I watched as she let go of his arm and her fingers lightly brushed his hand. Syd then discreetly took a step to her right, away from Lucas as his eyes flickered to where their hands had connected, to the floor and then back to me.

"What was I in on?" Lucas asked, his voice a little hoarse.

Syd cleared her throat, "Tell her what happened last night."

Lucas' eyes snapped up to Sydney's in a questioning manner.

"With Jace..." Syd said in a stern but confused voice. Something definitely happened with these two last night I just need to find out what exactly.

"Oh yeah. You really don't remember?" Lucas questioned, turning to look at me.

I moved over to the bed and sat on it crossed legged. "No, I don't so you two are going to sit down and inform me in what did happen, okay?" They both did as I said and climbed onto the bed.

Lucas went first.

"After you left to go find Calla, Jace came back over and sat with me at the table. I'm not going to lie, I thought he was coming over to give me some type of trouble especially with the way he had looked at me 20 minutes before, but he didn't. He came and sat next to me and introduced himself and offered to get me a drink as an apology for the way he had acted. So, I went with him to the bar and explained that I don't drink and ordered a lemonade as he got something for himself. After getting our drinks we walked back to the table and I asked him how he knew you." I glared at Lucas.

When he said 'asked him how he knew you' he really meant that he questioned Jace, trying to work out if he was a nice guy or not. Basically to see if he approves of him, which he doesn't need to do since I have no plan of getting with Jace.

"You don't need to protect me but thank you."

He chuckled, "Funny you say that. Isn't that exactly what you told Jace?"

I thought for a second, "Yeah it is. Please continue."

"Yes boss," he stupidly replied doing a fake salute. That earnt him and eyeroll from both me and Sydney. I swear I sometimes forget that he is a grown man and not a teenager with the way he acts.

"As I was saying before I got rudely interrupted," he sarcastically said looking at me to which I gave him a smile and my middle finger. He just laughed before carrying on with what he was saying.

"I asked him how you two knew each other and he told me about the incident at the diner that involves your milkshake and Jace's top. From then onward we just sat there talking and joking about stuff. He's an alright guy, Ivy."

Why did he tell me that? I've only seen Jace 3 times and each of them involve me doing something careless. I barely know the guy and I hope to keep it that way.

"Yeah, then I came over to get Calla and I more drinks and saw the two of them talking so I obviously had to go over and see what was going on. It's not often you see Lucas not working and actually hanging out with someone else than us." Lucas gave Sydney a dirty look to what she had said.

"Okay, and? I may work my ass off, but it pays off. I make more money in a month then you do in three. And anyway, I do have other friends," Lucas retorted.

"My waitressing job may not pay the most money but at least I have a proper social life and know how to have fun. I mean, you don't even drink for fuck sake. You never let loose and actually enjoy yourself." At this point they were both intensely staring at each other.

What the hell was going on now? Sydney and Lucas have always argued and disagreed, they did about most stuff, but never before has it been like this.

"Guys! What is going on? Stop whatever this is and Syd, please carry on. You both got completely off track." I swear, if they had lazer vision, they would have both been shooting one another.

Sydney sighed before continuing, "So, I went over there and sat down with them. I threw some jokes in with the conversation and then started asking Jace the serious questions, the real deep shit. That's what best friends are for at the end of the day."

"No, you mean you interrogated the poor guy," Lucas added.

"Okay, I interrogated him, but that's beside the point. I questioned him on some stuff..." she paused for a second, "Okay, a lot of stuff and then went back to party with Calla. He handled it very well. I agree with Lucas, he's alright, Ivy. I approve." I saw a slight smile appear on Lucas' face with that last section. Why was she talking like I was going to get with Jace?

"What do you mean you 'approve'? Approve of what Sydney May?"

"Of him of course. Jace is a nice guy."

"Wait, you think I'm going to get with him, don't you?" Syd and Lucas looked at each other briefly and both shrugged. They can't actually be serious.

"Well, newsflash, I'm not going to."

"Sure," Lucas said in a funny tone. What was that supposed to mean?

"Whatever. Talking about you two, what happened last night?" Syd and Lucas both looked at each other before turning to me.

"Nothing happened? What do you mean?" Syd asked whilst fiddling with the bottom of her shirt; a sign that she's nervous, lying or both. Too bad I can read people easily and my friends in front of me are the two most obvious people I know.

From the response from the both of them, I could tell that they were not ready to talk about last night yet so I decided to drop it. They'll both come and tell me when they want to.

"I'm not sure. Just the way you were arguing," I paused, thinking for an excuse for all our sakes, "It probably has to do with the drink last night. I think we can agree that we all went overboard."

"For sure," Syd agreed as Lucas stood up and walked out of the room, stopping to say something before completely exiting.

Leaning on the door frame, he turned to face us and said, "Aye, Sydney. Don't you have to tell Ivy about something?" With that, he turned around and fully walked out.

"What do you need to tell me then?"

"So, you know how highly intoxicated I was last night and when I drink too much, I don't think and do stuff impulsively?" She asked me, nervously laughing afterwards. This did not sound good especially as she classed passing my personal number round to multiple strangers as nothing.

"What have you done now?" I asked, questioning if I really wanted to know.

"Well, you see, at the end of my talk with Jace..." she stopped talking.

"Just spit it out."

"Only if you promise not to get mad." I was getting very concerned. What had she done?

"Okay. I promise. Now just fucking tell me."

I heard her mutter 'fuck' under her breath before speaking again.

"Before I went back to find Calla, I may have invited Jace round for dinner tomorrow night at our place." She quickly hugged me and then jumped up and ran out the room. What a coward.

Jace round for dinner. What do you think will happen? Definitely something ;)

I want to have a friend like Syd. I honestly think it would be so much fun.
