"So, what are we actually hear for?" I questioned as I skipped into the building with shops in every direction your eyes could see. I excitedly walked over to a clothes shop and admired the clothes from the threshold of the store. I was about to walk in when someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me back.

"No. You are not dragging me around looking at clothes," Darius huffed while pulling me back and to his side.

I needed to get more clothes as, just yesterday I decided I wanted to change up my style. We were at a mall, the best place to get clothes so why wouldn't I have tried it? I saw an opportunity and took it.

"But why else are we here?" I can't imagine that we came here to eat as there are loads of restaurants a lot closer to the park than here, and he literally just told me that he didn't want to go shopping, so what were we actually doing here?

"We're going to the cinema. It's close to Halloween so there should be some good films showing," he explained as we began walking again.

My first initial thought was hoping that he wasn't seeing this as a date. You know, the whole scary movie, she'll jump into my arms when she gets scared type of thing. But I discarded that thought as there was no reason for that to be the case.

I turned to my right, expecting for Dar to be standing there but he wasn't. I looked behind me only to see him walking a few paces behind. He had his hands in the pocket of his black jacket that was over the plain black t-shirt he was wearing. He looked at me guiltily but stayed behind.

I stopped walking and just stood there watching him. I had no idea what he was doing but I was about to find out.

"Why are you walking behind?"

"Because I don't want to be seen out with you looking like that," he jokingly laughed. I glanced down at my outfit.

I was wearing black sweatpants with an oversized hoodie. I didn't try with what I was wearing, I just threw something one after I got home from work otherwise it would've taken too long for me to get ready.

I smiled at him as he got closer to me, "Screw you."

"I'm joking," he clarified. He threw his arm over my shoulder in a casual way. I turned my head towards him, he was the same height as me. I raised my eyebrows at him before pushing him off me. I laughed as he tripped and almost fell over.

"That wasn't very nice," he said acting like he was a child and was actually hurt.

I walked next to him and rubbed his arm in a fake comforting way, "Aww. I really don't care." I got ready to push him again but grabbed my arms before I could.

His eyebrow cocked in a daring way. We both stood in the middle of the mall with people bustling around us but we didn't move. I went to pull my arms out of his hold but his grip was like cement.

He shook his head when I tried to do it again, "I'm not letting you go. You'll just do it again."

"Darius, let go," I tried to warn him seriously but ended up laughing.

"Not until you tell me you won't try it again," he looked me dead in my eyes. They fell behind me for a second and his eyebrows drew together slightly before returning back to me. I tried to look behind me but couldn't see anything interesting enough to make me frown.

"Okay," I said, returning my vision to his face, "I won't do it again."

He finally released my arms from his grip. I waited till he was in front of me so I could push him again.

Did he really think I was going to leave him alone and not do anything after he just did that? Hahaha, no.

Dar slowly swivelled his body and looked at me, his face blank at first but then filled with a mischievous grin.

I ran to the cinema and waited for him there.

-

"Took you long enough," I sighed when Darius finally decided to show up at the cinema. He had two buckets of popcorn, bags of chocolate and drinks for the both of us.

"Haha very funny. Now let's go before the film starts."

I followed him to our seats which were at the very back of the cinema.

All my previous concerns came flooding back and panic started rising. At first, it was just a theory, but now how he's leading me up to the bad of the cinema, I started feeling uneasy. Like I said, he was nothing more than a friend.

"Uh, our seats are all the way back here?" I asked my voice wavering a little but he wouldn't have noticed.

"Yeah. It's perfect for what I thought we could do," he explained and I gulped. This cannot be happening right now.

"And what is that exactly?" I nervously chuckled, hoping I was proven wrong. Really hoping that what I was thinking was wrong.

We both sat down and the lights dimmed allowing the giant screen right at the front to be the centre of attention. The first of many adds screamed at us, making me jump in my seat at the unexpected voice. Dar chuckled from next to me, "The movie hasn't even started yet and you're already jumping."

I rolled my eyes, not forgetting the fact that he avoided my previous question. "Shut up, man," I said and punched him in his arm.

"So, what are we doing back here?" I asked again, being ignored the first time. I didn't get a response using words. No, that would have been too difficult. Instead, all I got was a wink shot my way.

He was starting to get on my nerves now.

"I swear to god if you don't tell me right now..."

"What will happen?" Darius smugly looked at me. He knew that was a completely empty threat but that didn't mean it would have stayed that way.

"Do you want to find out?"

He looked up for a second, pretending to think, "Yeah. Yeah, I think I do."

He shifted his body closer to mine like he was listening to what I was about to say. The smile that was on his face and the fake innocence in his eyes made me glare at him. I could have sworn I saw him wince, but I could be completely making that up. Either way, it made him stop being an ass and speak up.

"Well, my friend, I thought we could throw popcorn at people," he said to me after taking his coat off.

Huh, okay. That's one-hundred percent better than what I was thinking.

"Hm, okay," I shrugged my shoulders and picked some popcorn from my bucket and threw it at the person a few rows in front.

Darius chuckled as it hit them in the back of their head. The person didn't even flinch. The sound of the film starting stopped me from throwing more at them again and instead realise what film Dar had booked for us.

"We're watching Halloween?"

"Yup. One of the classics," he confirmed for me as he sunk deeper into his seat.

"I've actually never watched it," I shrugged and could instantly feel his eyes staring at the side of my head.

"You've never watched it?" He almost shouted even though the movie had started playing. People turned around and glared in our direction but Darius didn't react, he just continued to stare at me like I had said something ridiculous.

"That's what I just said wasn't it?" I sarcastically commented, popping some popcorn into my mouth.

I turned to look at the giant screen playing the movie when I felt an arm rest on my shoulders. I slowly moved my head so that I was looking at Dar. He had a huge, innocent smile on his face. I glared at him, moving his arm off me and dropping it into his own lap. I smiled at him and returned my attention back to the movie. He better not start that.

-

The credits began rolling and the lights brightened the room. Darius had spent the whole time laughing at me because I kept getting caught out by the jump scares. I usually can call out when they're going to happen, but some reason I couldn't.

I hit Darius one too many times. Some because he was laughing at me and other times because I jumped and he was the closest person. I didn't mean to hit him; it was just my reflexes kicking in (quite literally).

I stood up and got my stuff, getting ready to leave the theatre when I saw popcorn fly and hit the guy sitting not too far in front. It was the same person I had first hit, and once again, he didn't react. I just picked up popcorn and threw more at him. Either he was numb or oblivious because he didn't notice again.

Darius took a handful and threw it. This time, he noticed.

Strange, right? It's not like someone to realise when a whole flipping handful or the stuff is thrown at you.

His head instantly turned in our direction and I felt Darius pull me down so that we were hiding. We were both in hushed hysterics, trying not to blow our extremely bad cover.

-

We had finally got out of the cinema and made out way back to my car. There were a ton of shops I wanted to go into and tried to sneakily enter, but Dar would always drag me back out claiming that he 'didn't want to go stupid clothes shopping' and that he'll 'only ever do that with his Mum'. I laughed at him when he said that, he's obviously a momma's boy.

I pulled up outside his house as he unstrapped his seatbelt. He went to get out when he stopped and turned to me.

I panicked slightly when he did this, I had no clue what he was going to say.

"There's a party on Friday if you want to come with me."

"Hm okay. Are you sure it's not just because you need a ride there?" I sarcastically questioned his intentions. I knew that wasn't the case but it was fun pissing him off.

He sarcastically smiled and scrunched his nose, "Yeah, how else am I supposed to get there dumbass."

"I'm not sure if I want to take you. I'll go but your attitude is a bit much for me. I could just drive myself," I shrugged.

"I'll be ready at 8. You'll love it, trust me," he said as he leant into the car from the outside just before closing it, not waiting for my reply.

I waved him goodbye and drove back home.

A party on Friday sounds quite fun.

(A/N) Party? I wonder what's going to happen ;)
I'm actually quite proud at the fact that I wrote this a while ago but I am actually posting it the day before Halloween. I didn't plan for that to happen but it has lmao.
