Another long one so get comfy

"You brought your motorbike?!"

"Well, I remembered you saying about how you have always wanted to go on one so I thought tonight was the perfect time," he told me producing a toothy grin that make my heart flutter. He carefully placed a helmet on top of my head. I intensely watched him as he slowly put it on.

"Perfect," he grinned standing back and looking at me up and down and I knew my cheeks had changed colours involuntarily. We stood there just watching each other.

There is tension between us. It is obvious and I am not going to deny it. Not only is he extremely attractive but he is a genuinely nice guy. He listens to what I say to him and tonight just proves that. It means a lot to me, you know, for someone to listen to me. I don't necessarily like it when people make big gestures, I prefer the little things. People listening, remembering what you said, being honest, stuff like that.

I like him, a lot, so I often have to hold myself back from acting on it. I don't know if he feels the same way about me and I don't plan on finding out if the feeling flows both ways.

He took a small step towards me and took hold of my left hand. My heart began to pound against my chest at the simple gesture. My eyes darted towards my hand and I began overthinking.

What is this supposed to mean? Does he like me too? No, he is just being polite, right?

I looked back up at his perfect face and was met with a knowing smirk. Shit! He knows what I'm thinking. He took another slight step towards me, making my breathing pick up. He stood extremely close to me just watching before he opened his mouth.

"Shall we go then, gorgeous?" Jace asked his voice sounding rougher than usual.

"Yeah, let's go," I hardly breathed out. He had an effect on me that no other person has before, and he knew it.

He turned his body to face his bike and walked towards it with his hand still in mine.

I was stood with the bike on my right. He let go of my hand but instantly placed both of them around my waist. My skin lit on fire underneath my jumper at his touch.

"I'm going to lift you onto the bike," he informed me. A boyish grin spread across his face and he effortlessly lifted and sat me on his elegant black bike. He reached for his own helmet, fixing it onto his head and sat his large build of a body in front of me. Jace started the engine and the bike started vibrating underneath us.

"You ready?"

Without thinking I wrapped my arms around his torso and rested my chin on his shoulder. "More than I have ever been."

As I sat with my chest pressed up against Jace's back and my arms securely wrapped around his waist, I felt as if nothing could ruin the moment. I felt his muscles contracting under my arms and I watched his strong arms take complete control of the bike. I peeked over his shoulder and observed as the speedometer sat fixed on seventy.

The adrenaline rush that I had once imagined was nothing compared to the real feeling. I sat up straight, fixing my previously slouched posture, and saw the world fly past. The chilly afternoon wind whipping past my ears and through my hair made me feel the most alive I had ever before but the adrenaline rushing through my veins wasn't enough.

I slowly untangled my fingers and released my hands from each other. First, I moved my right arm to my side and then my left. Jace's body tensed slightly at this but relaxed when I held onto his waist with both hands.

When I get an idea into my head, it is hard for me to get rid of. So, when a dangerous one popped into my head, an internal fight inside of me started.

Fuck it. You only live once.

I threw my arms up in the air, no longer holding onto anything apart from the bike with my legs. It felt amazing.

At this very moment, I felt reckless. Like I could do anything, and it wouldn't matter. And it was all because of the guy in front of me. Whenever I am with him, I feel invincible. As if nothing bad could ever happen as long as I am with him. Like we are the only two people that exist. It is a dangerous game to play, but I'm all in.

A squeal escaped my throat when Jace purposely accelerated, his left hand no longer on the handlebar but holding onto my lower back, making sure I don't fall off. He deeply chuckled as I watched the dial on the speedometer decline.

Jace grabbed my right arm, placing it back around his waist, "Woah. Be careful, baby," he lowly told me, his voice making my insides do a somersault. My other arm followed the action as his own hand returned to the handlebar.

I hid my face away from the cold air that was nipping at the tip of my nose in the warmth of the crook of Jace's neck, resting my head completely on his shoulder. I noticed how Jace leaned his head on mine in a comforting manner. "We're almost there, baby, don't worry," he told me. I swear, when he calls me baby, I fall for him more and more.

It is crazy to think that I have only known Jace for a little while especially with how comfortable I feel around him. It feels like I have known him for years, but I haven't. We just have a type of connection that I can't seem to forget.

It wasn't long till I felt the engine of the bike killed and Jace move in front of me. The sound of water crashing against the shoreline helped me figure out where he had taken me. I turned to him excitedly as he stood next to me as I still sat on the bike. He took his helmet off and lightly shook his head before running his hand through his hair. I reached for his hair and helped fix his helmet hair. That's what I convinced myself anyway. It had nothing to do with the fact that I have been wanting to run my hands through his hair for weeks.

He watched me as I fixed his hair, "We're at the beach?"

"Yep. Now come on, I want to show you something," he held out his hand to help me off his bike and I winced at the touch.

He led me along the seashore, my shoes one hand Jace's hand in my other. The sun had started setting, producing a range of pinks, oranges, purples, and yellows which vibrantly bounced off the crystal water. I felt the white sand get in between my toes, the cool but nice breeze blowing both our hair in all different directions. In that very moment, I felt content.

"This is where I like to come when I need to get away," he said breaking the silence.

"I can see why. It's beautiful," I exclaimed making him deeply laugh at my enthusiasm. The view was honestly breath-taking.

"It gets better. Come on." He dragged me from behind him. I caught up to his pace and we both began running, hand in hand, along the shoreline till he abruptly stopped, making me almost trip.

I looked up and saw this gorgeous cove that was secluded from the rest of the beach. The type that you could only get to if you knew where to go. His grip tightened on my hand as we climbed up on to the top of the rocks. For the first time in my life, I felt speechless. I stood there just completely admiring the view of the now darkened sky and fully appreciated the way the silver moon sat proudly in the night sky.

I felt Jace's hands grip my waist, lowering me down till I was sitting on his lap. I leaned back so my head was resting on his shoulder as I admired the stars that were twinkling in the sky. I heard him take a deep inhale, his face in my hair, as he began speaking.

"I knew you would like it here," he said proudly.

"I fucking love it! How did you find it?" I fidgeted a little in his lap, turning my body so I could see his face.

"I have my ways," he jokingly said as he winked at me. I rolled my eyes at him but could not erase the smile that had permanently made its way onto my lips.

"There was," Jace began but stopped suddenly. I searched his face concerned by the unusual behaviour. Whatever he was about to tell me was hard for him to speak about. I could tell that by the way he started fiddling with the silver rings on his fingers and the way he looked distantly out at the sea, almost as if he was replaying a memory to himself in his head. I squeezed his hand the same way he did for me. I heard him take a deep breath before continuing.

"There was this time in my life where I felt completely alone..." He stopped himself again, this time covering his face with his hands. "Fuck! I sound so fucking stupid." My heart broke at the sound and sight of him. I didn't feel pity for him, I knew he wouldn't like that, but I hated how hurt he looked.

I placed my hand against his cheek and turned his face towards me. I looked him dead in the eyes and softly smiled, "Jace, it's okay," I quietly told him knowing he could take that how he wanted. It was weird because for once, he looked... defenceless. Like he was finally opening himself up to me and I appreciated it.

I turned my attention back to the mysterious looking sea. The sound of the waves splashing about from below us filled my ears. Jace breathed warmly down my neck, his arms around my waist, hugging my body to his. I sighed. I knew he would tell me whatever he had failed at eventually. I didn't want him to feel like he had to force himself to, so I dropped it.

"This is like our thing, isn't it?" I stated, changing the subject in the most sensitive way I could.

I slouched back into his embrace as he leaned his head in the burrow of my neck. I felt his lips innocently brush against my neck and I froze. I had moved my head to the opposite side, allowing him full access to my neck but I caught myself before anything happened and moved my head back to its original position.

"Hmm?" He questioned; his face still hid in my neck. I had completely lost my train of thought. I gently cleared my throat before answering, making sure my head was in the right space to speak to him.

"Watching the stars. It's something we keep doing," I clarified for him, my voice sounding slightly rougher than I would have liked.

"I guess," he whispered on my neck.

I abruptly stood up. I couldn't take it. I needed to get out of whatever the hell was going on there and fast.

"Where are you going, princess?" He looked up at me, asking from where he sat. The moonlit sky accentuated the features on his face, making him look even better than previously. I held my hand out for him to take and watched his eyes flicker with an emotion I couldn't make out, but I had seen it before.

He took my hand in his and stood up next to me.

"I'm going for a walk. Wanna join?" I asked and I cheekily smiled at him. I let go of his hand as I saw his eyes flicker with recognition of what I was about to do.

I carefully ran down the large rock that we both had previously sat on. I jumped off the edge and started to run as soon as my feet hit the sand. I turned around, checking how close Jace was to me while running backwards. He was running towards me, a smirk on his face probably because of what he was going to do once he reached me. I wasn't ready to find out yet, so I turned back around laughing and continued to run away from Jace.

I knew I wasn't going to be able to out-run him, but it was fun to try.

As soon as he caught up to me, I was thrown over his shoulder. I began laughing hysterically while pounding his defined back with my fists.

He put me down back on the cold sand and spun me round to face him. My vision was met with a troublesome smirk that was plastered over his face. I found it hard to breath at the intensity of him, "You didn't think that you could run away from me now, did you, baby?" He asked, his voice low and rough making a boost of confidence appear.

"I like it when you call me that," I told him slightly biting my bottom lip afterwards. I saw his eyes dart to my lip that was trapped between my teeth and linger there for a second before returning to my eyes.

"Call you what exactly?"

"When you call me baby."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah," I truthfully told him, keeping eye contact the whole time.

He took a step towards me, our bodies centimetres away from each other. I felt his warm breath spread across my face as his hand rose towards my face and brushed a stray piece of hair out of my face, tucking it behind my ear. I looked up at him through my long lashes and was immediately met with his very intense stare. I looked down at the ground briefly before returning my eyes back to his.

 Bad decision.

His crystal blue eyes were strongly staring back. It was overwhelming. He is overwhelming. I took his large hand in mine. I saw his eyes flicker down to our hands before looking back at me. He knew what I was thinking and was now daring me with his eyes.

"Things like what, baby." He knew exactly what he was doing.

I licked my lips as I looked at his. I knew what I wanted, and I was going to get it.

"Things. Like. This." I slowly said. I stood on my tippy toes and leant towards him when I felt his large hands grasp my arms, stopping me from moving any further, his lips millimetres away from my own.

"Do you know what you're doing, Ivy?" He asked. I lightly chuckled and moved my head closer to his ear, "I think I do," I whispered.

His muscles tensed and I bit my lip, concealing a small smile. I raised my hand and began tracing the faint line of freckles that were scattered over the bridge of his nose. He caught my fingers, stopping me with his hand and my eyes travelled up to his. They were darker than their usual luminous blue. I tried to look away, but I couldn't. His eyes were captivating and even though I was crumbling underneath them, I couldn't look away.

He turned his body away from mine. I heard him cuss, "Fuck!" under his breath and he began to walk away. I stood there, knowing, waiting for what was about to happen.

I close my eyes and open them again when I felt his presence in front of me.

I looked up at him. Now it was my time to smirk, "I knew you would come back."

"Shut up," he demanded, rubbing his thumb over my bottom lip. I bit his thumb and his eyes hooded. "Ivy," he whispered moving his body closer, "tell me when to stop."

I hum in agreement as his hands land on my wrists, pulling me even closer to him. "Now?" He asked, looking down at me. I shake my head.

"Now?" He asked again, his left hand tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. I watch him intensely and shake my head for the second time.

He gently moved my hair over my shoulder, revealing my neck. I moved my head to the side, allowing him full access to me. He teasingly brushes his lips against the soft skin on my neck, "Just tell me, Ivy."

Jace placed his soft lips against my neck.

He revisited my jawline, as I felt his hands travel up my body, resting on my ribs, his hands now under my jumper and directly on my skin. My skin felt on fire when he touched me, there's a fine line between pain and pleasure.

My lip got trpped between my teeth as I allowed myself to tangle my hands in his hair, playing with the ends.

"Just say the words."

I pulled on his hair, making him take his lips off my jaw, my lip still trapped between my teeth. Jace used his thumb to release my lip.

"Last chance," he said as his face came closer to mine.

"Never," I whispered.

The next thing I knew, all I could taste was him.
