Jackie's POV

It was easier than I thought. I thought it would be difficult for him to help me. Moving into someone's home was a personal invasion and I thought someone like Lucas declined without letting me explain. So, it surprised me when he accepted to let me live with him.

After the call, I sat down and thought over what I had done but I had no one or place to be. Axel lived somewhere far since he ended up leaving Redside High and Maddy, was going back to her family home which was in the same town where my parents stayed. I had sworn never to go back there no matter what happened.

"Well, now I have to endure living with a jerk. I just hope he isn't a nuisance," I said and rested my back against the back of my chair. "I can't believe that Lucas Hamilton will be my roommate."

I could not help but laugh before stopping when Andrea walked into the room. It was then I realized that she liked Lucas and that I was going to be living with him. If they started to go out with each other, it would be weird.

"Studying for Monday's exam?" Andrea asked and sat on her bed.

"Yeah. I'm having math on Monday," I replied and faced my books.

"So, have you seen Lucas?"

I clenched my hand around my pencil. I was getting tired of hearing her ask about Lucas every time. Worst of all, she's always around this time around. I was glad the school year was over and I would most likely not see her again if she doesn't meet Lucas but I was not a bad person. She genuinely liked Lucas so I would help her, even if it made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

"I spoke to him a few minutes ago," I answered and she rushed to my side.

"Oh, my God! What did he say? Did you tell him about me?"

I sighed. "No, I didn't. We'll meet up soon so maybe I'll tell him about you."

"Can I come with you?"

I snapped my head in her direction with a glare on my face. Was this girl so desperate for him?

"Please, Jackie?"

I sighed. "Fine but I'll tell him about a friend coming with me."

My only hope was that I don't remember to tell him.

It was Thursday and in two days I was going to be done with my exams. The dorms were beginning to seem empty with fewer students as some had finished earlier and started to leave. Months ago or a few days ago, I would have been feeling depressed about the fact that I had no place to go or have a job but now, I was feeling happy and relaxed.

I was in my room packing up my things when Andrea walked in, singing. I chuckled at her and sang along to the song she was singing.

"Aww, you're packing," she said after singing.

"I know, right? I can't believe that almost a year has gone by," I said and she shrugged.

"You're right but that doesn't mean that we won't be seeing each other more often around school or something. You'll be staying in the dorm again, right?"

I froze at her question when I realized she doesn't know that I will be living with the one guy she crushed on. I had not told her and I don't think I was ready to say anything about it to her.

"I don't know yet," I replied.

"Anyway, I'll be in the dorm. Probably the room across because it has a view of the front of this building. Our window faces the annoying back of our dorm," Andrea said and I nodded in understanding.

My phone rang on the study desk between our beds and I rushed to it because I have been expecting a call from Lucas. When I saw it was Maddy, I rolled my eyes but answered the call.

"Hey, Maddy?"

"Hi, Jackie! How are you?"

"I'm good," I replied and went back to folding my clothes.

"I know we haven't been talking because of the exams and all. I apologize about that."

"It's fine, Maddy. We stayed without talking to each other during last semester's exam. So, it's not a problem. We are focusing on passing our exams anyway."

Maddy hummed. "True, true. Hey, the dorms will be closed on Monday next week and I wanted to ask you where you'll stay after the exam?"

My eyes widened and I glanced at Andrea who was going through her phone. I gulped and cursed myself for hiding the fact that I had already met Lucas from Maddy. Now, I did not know how to tell her that I was going to be living with him.

"Are you there, Jackie?"

I blinked. "Yes... Uh, I haven't found a place yet but once I do I'll let you know."

"But seriously, where will you stay? Don't be offended but you only know me and that bitch, Axel. Who else do you know? Is it one of your coursemates or that weird roommate of yours?"

I giggled and glanced at Andrea one more time before walking away from my bed to stand by the desk.

"Maddy, I'll be fine. I found a job... Well, Clark hired me to be his cleaner."

Maddy gasped. "Really? Oh, my God! I remember that he had fired his other maid for some weird reason. Are you sure you're okay with being a cleaner? I can call some of the stores I shop at to hire you."

I vividly remembered the perfume store and that one attendant with a grimace on my face.

"No, don't worry. I like the job because it pays well and before the new session begins, I've saved enough to either get an apartment or another room on campus," I said and she sighed.

"Remember if you need help, I'm always here for you."

"I know. Thank you, Maddy."

"You're welcome... Oh, I gotta go now. My study buddy is here."

Maddy ended the call and I smiled at my phone and then dropped it on the desk. I turned around but paused when my phone vibrated on the desk. I turned back and saw it was a text from Lucas. I picked up the phone and opened the message.

Lucas: When will you be moving in? My exam ends tomorrow and I've prepared for you to move in, roomie. ;)

I smiled at the content of the message and started to type back.

Me: I will move in on Sunday. My exam ends on Saturday. Speaking of a roommate, I hope you won't be the jerk that you are.

I hit send and saw that he had read it and was typing back. I waited for some seconds before a new message came in.

Lucas: Don't worry, I won't bite. Unless the situation demands it.

"Who's making you smile so much?"

I gasped and hid my phone beside me when I heard Andrea's voice over my shoulder. I turned around and smiled at her.

"You scared me!"

"Sorry... Jeez, I was only trying to take my laptop off the desk," she said and pointed at the thin laptop on the desk behind me.

"Oh, sorry about that." I moved away and sat on my bed, breathing heavily as I prayed she had not seen that Lucas had been texting me.

I could not believe that I was currently hiding the fact that I was in close contact with Lucas from Maddy, his ex-fling, and Andrea, his possible new fling.

Lucas was truly a bad boy that made good girls like me do crazy things.

A/N: Yay! Jackie is moving soon and who knows what's going to happen?
