Chapter Seven

Payton's Pov

It's been Kai's first full week of college and things went pretty well. He's been opening up to me a lot more, which I like. He's been helping me with my algebra and I'm beginning to understand it a lot more now, by the way he's teaching it to me. I've been making dinner for him and I and he said that I'm a really good cook. I make the best garlic bow tie pasta, when he first stuck it in his mouth, the first thing he let out was a moan, which was extremely hot. If he's gonna moan like this when where in bed then I'm gonna be cumming multiple times.

I know what you're probably thinking...'you're just acting all nice and protective to fuck him and that's it." The truth is I'm not. I really want to get to know him and hopefully make him my boo. I love how his voice is...deep with a pinch of highness. That thick ass New York accent he showcased at that party was very surprising. It was like a whole different Kai. I guess that's how he talks when he's at home.

The situation that happened with Chandler was taken care of. The day after the party we told the dean of the university and long story short, he's no longer with us. I hope his life is full of misery and agony. Chandler on the other hand is ok. Nothing was stuck in her that night, she was just roofied and half naked, which by the way is just as bad. Vanessa was crying up a storm because that's her little sister.

Bryson's been hanging with us a lot more. It's like the more you get to know someone you start to like em. Bryson seems like a pretty chill dude. His fraternity brothers still been acting all funny with him. You can say he's apart of our friend group now.

Tonight is date night with Kai. I really want to prove myself to him. I really want to pursue him and make him mine and treat him with the outmost respect. He deserves someone like that...someone like me. I can definitely be that guy for him.

I was in my room looking at myself in the mirror. I wore a blank white T-shirt with my college letterman jacket which has the number 'fifteen' on it because fifteen is my moms favorite number. I wore blue jeans and black shoes.

"Damn, I'd fuck me....but then that would be incest." I said to myself and realized what the fuck I just said. I walked out of my room and walked over to Kai's room. I heard voices so I just do a simple friendly eavesdropping.

"How was your first week at college baby?" A woman's voice asked.

"It's great mom, the people here are really chill and fun. I made some new friends in like the first day so I'm pretty much good here." Kai said.

"Well we miss you..a lot son, it's been horrible over here...we're having Kai withdrawals. Marcus is at a friends house but he didn't want me to say this but, ever since you left he's been sleeping in your room because he misses you like crazy. " A man said which I'm assuming is his father.

"Aw, stop it, you guys are gonna make me cry." Kai said chuckling.

"Did you meet anyone special?" His mom asked.

"Mom its only been like a week....and yeah I met someone." He said. My heart skipped a beat because I knew he was talking about me.

"Well who is he!?" His parents said at the same time.

"His name is....Payton, and he's my roommate. We're not in a relationship though, we're just really good friends, but I never say never because anything could happen." He said.

"What does he look like son? Is he a brotha?" His dad asked.

"No dad, he not a brotha. He's white, just like me, but a little more tan." He chuckled.

"No judgement, I was just asking." He said.

"I know dad..I know." Kai said.

"So where are you going, dressed all good and handsome?" His mom asked him.

"On a date, with Payton. He asked me, so I said yes."

"Oh? I thought you guys were good friends?" His dad asked.

"We are...it's just.....I like him ok? I really do like him, I'm just afraid that if we are together, then something bad is gonna happen." Kai said.

"Sweetie, what happened to Alex was not you're fault, she had other things going on in her life, what you did had nothing to do with her actions." His mom said.

"I don't know, she was my first and only real relationship for five strong years, so if I date Payton I'm afraid somethings bad is gonna happen to him." He said. Damn he's been in a relationship for five years? That's amazing, most people these days can't last a day.

"Kai Xavier Jackson listen to me. Everyone in this world is different, different problems, different situations, different everything. The problem Alex had won't or didn't happen to Payton. We know you hadn't had a relationship since then, but don't let that hold you back with having another relationship with someone...we want some grandbabies." His mom said. I heard Kai laugh, which made me laugh, but not to loud.

"Thank you guys...I love you guys so much, you just don't understand." Kai said.

"We love you too son. Well let you go, enjoy date night with Payton." His parents said slowly teasing him. "Ugh, shut up!!" He laughed and I heard the laptop being closed. Then I heard sniffles.

Was he crying?

I knocked on the door and he said to come in. I open the door and I saw nothing but his back faced to his desk. "You ok?" I asked him.

"Yeah...um..I'm fine. I'm almost ready just let me find my wallet cause I uh lost it he said. I walk over to him and picked up his wallet that was right on his desk. I turn his chair over so that he could face me and I saw a red, bloodshot eyed Kai, with tears coming down his face.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing...I just miss my family that's all...I never knew how much I would miss them when I left." He said.

"I was the same way when I left my mom. I wanted to go back home so bad, but I knew I had to stay in order to grow." I said.

"I guess.....maybe coming to Cali was a mistake. When I Skype called them It really hit me y'know?" Kai said. Not gonna lie, It made me a little sad that that he said maybe coming here was a mistake. I been attached to him ever since I laid my eyes on him, and the fact that he said that, made me upset a little.

"But then, you wouldn't had met me, or Chandler, Vanessa, or Bryson. Believe it or not. We're all glad that you came, cause you bring this common ground type vibe and we love it." I said.

"Really?" He said looking a little surprised. I nodded my head.

"Well that's really good to hear." He said. Then he began to yawn.

"I'm sorry but can we stay inside for tonight? I really don't feel like going anywhere." Kai said.

"Oh thank god! I thought maybe you wanted to go out or something." I said sighing in relief. We both started laughing. Then we heard thunder and rain.

"I guess we really can't go out then huh?" Kai said.

"Yeah...let's just wear something comfortable, I'll make dinner, put our phones away in our rooms, and just communicate like our parents did back in their day..sounds like a plan?" I asked. He nodded.

"It's a date." He smiled.
