Chapter 22 | Penis wrapping paper

Isabella:

Saying goodbye to my father hadn't been easy.

Especially since I refused to actually leave my room.

Instead, I had watched from my bedroom window as he bid goodbye to my baby sister, my grandmother and my mom. My mother and father seemed to have left on good terms. However, I had no idea what the basis in which their relationship stood on right now – but I guess anything was better than the two of them blatantly ignoring each other's existence or not even being able to stand in the same room together without bickering or fighting.

I, on the other hand, had not left on good terms with my father and continued to ignore the bazzilion calls and texts he had bombarded me with once he had arrived back in London. However, after about two weeks, I stopped being petty and finally picked up the phone.

Well, to be fair I answered the calls because my grandmother had ultimately forced me to. She was fed up of her phone constantly blowing up with face time calls and text messages demanding to talk to me when I refused to pick up my own phone.

He had apologised for the umpteenth time and despite still being mad and hurt I "forgave" him. I pushed away the hurt feelings into the back of my mind and instead, focused on the beautiful, crisp, late fall season rolling in.

Halloween was near, lifting my mood significantly. Pumpkins dotted driveways and golden leaves decorated the streets.

"What are you guys going as?" Dylan asks us at lunch, a week before his annual Halloween/birthday party (the first of which I would be attending).

I flit my eyes back and forth between Mia and Grace, a sly smirk playing on my lips.

"It's a surprise," I say as Mia and Grace nod their heads in agreement.

By 'surprise' we mean that we haven't decided what we're going as yet.

"C'mon, it's my birthday/halloween party! Please tell me!" He whines and I raise an eyebrow.

"No." Grace smirks. "You'll just have to wait and see. Guilt tripping us isn't going to work Dyl."

He pouts and pushes his blonde curls from out of his eyes. "Fine, but you can't out dress me." He narrows his eyes at Mia and sticks his index finger in her direction. "Especially you."

"Hey don't worry I won't." Mia raises her hands up in defence before pointing her thumb across the table. "She probably will though."

We all turn to look at Ivy who sits a couple seats away from me me, her acrylic nails tapping away aggressively on her phone screen. She looks up from her phone after a beat and scowls at us all staring at her. "What?"

"Don't out dress me at my party," Dylan repeats, crossing his arms across his broad chest.

Ivy snorts in reply. "Sorry no can do." She shrugs unapologetically before continuing to type away on her phone.

"Right that's it," Dylan announces, pushing his chair back and I wince at the scraping noise it makes against the linoleum floor. "Grace." He stands up from his chair. "Hold my earrings."

"You're not wearing any-"

"I SAID HOLD MY EARRINGS."

"Okay okay!" Grace's eyes widen and she stands up beside Dylan with her palms out turned.

Before Dylan has a chance to storm up to Ivy and smack the strawberry blonde out of her; Lucas approaches our table with Aidan. Aidan, sensing Dylan is about to do something stupid by flitting his eyes from the blonde to Ivy, quickly intervenes. He grabs Dylan by the arm and drags him back into his seat.

"Right I think it's birthday present time!" he declares loudly, an attempt to try and stop Dylan from performing manslaughter and surprisingly his tactic works.

Dylan perks up at Aidan's statemt and leans back on his chair, completely forgetting about trying to murder Ivy, (which by the way, I wouldn't have minded happening.)

"Gimmie gimmie," he grins, his eyes crinkling in the corners as Mia reaches into her bag and pulls out a large box wrapped up in-

"Mia," I gape incredulously at her, just as Grace notices the wrapping paper as well and double takes. "What is that wrapping paper?"

"Isn't it nice?" She gushes, stroking the box. "I thought it would be perfect!"

Taking a closer look. Dylan reaches across the table and plucks the box out of her hands before his grin widens further.

"It is perfect!" Dylan gasps.

"What is it?" Lucas asks. Squinting his eyes as he leans forward in his chair. He has taken a seat in between Ivy and I, his long legs stretched out in front of him.

Still not being able to see the wrapping paper clearly, he leans forward every further and grasps the box out of Dylan's hands. The movement causes his cologne to waft into the air. Oh my god he smells good.

"Oh my god." Lucas splutters out into laughter before showing Aidan the wrapping paper.

"AHAHAPENISESAHAHA," Aidan giggles loudly.

"Mi where did you even find that?" Lucas snorts, raising his eyebrows.

"Amazon," Mia replies nonchalantly. "It was pretty cheap you know."

"I'm sure it was."

"Okay," Dylan clasps his hands together. "I actually wanna open the present now!"

He peels open the wrapping paper carefully, folding and placing the hot pink wrapping paper with tiny, little dicks drawn all over, onto the table.

"It's from the three of us," Grace smiles, gesturing to Mia and I.

"Oo what is thi-OHMYGOD." Dylan slaps a hand over his mouth. "You guys did not!"

He rushes over to the three of us in a blink of an eye and pull us all into a bone crushing hug. I groan, my face squashed against his hard pecks and try to push him away after I begin to struggle breathing.

"I love it thank you guys!" He gushes, looking down at the three of us after he stops cutting of my oxygen circulation.

We had chipped in and gotten Dylan these pairs of Jordan's that he had been obsessed with for a while now.

"You're welcome b," I smile, patting him on the arm.

"I'm definitely putting you guys on the VIP list of my party now," he exclaims, staring down at the shoes adoringly.

Grace presses a hand over her heart is fake hurt. "We were not on it already?"

"No." Shaking his head, Dylan smirks wickedly at us. "Only the cute guy from my science class and his friends had made it onto my VIP list because they're coming dressed as-"

"EW what is this wrapping paper?" Ivy grimaces, pointing at it with her index finger.

"Hey!" Mia shouts accusingly from the other side of the table, narrowing her eyes at Ivy. "My wrapping paper choice is exquisite actually!"

Ivy stares at her blankly before rolling her eyes. "Of course you were the one who chose that."

Mia slams her hand on the table and briskly stands up, knocking her chair back in the process. "Grace hold my earrings!" She points her finger at the blonde who sighs exasperatedly. "And Dylan back me!"

"Aye aye captain!" Dylan stands up, smirking, before cracking his knuckles and rolling his neck. "Let's do this."

"Let's not." Lucas says sternly. He narrows his eyes at the two crazies. "Sit down!"

"No!" Dylan replies stubbornly.

"Yes!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"N-"

"Sit down or I'm returning your present!"

Dylan sits back down on his chair faster than lightening. He sends a pleading look to Mia who sighs before taking a seat as well.

"Grace I need my earrings back."

"You never gave them to m-"

"Give them back!"
