When the car stopped in front of a five storey mansion, the sun was at its peak. Jungkook came here before so he didn't waste any time to watch those expensive cars lined the long drive to the mansion overlooking the huge lawn. Rose was wrapped behind him like a shadow, more like a spirit, giving him no time to breathe. After passing through the long corridor, they finally came into the dining hall.

Mr Park, Rose's father, was a tall man, taller than Jungkook. He was fully suited, his black and white hair was brushed neatly, some lines of wrinkles were around his eyes, glimmering an old typical businessman look. He came forward and hugged Jungkook, it was a friendly hug but Jungkook couldn't stop feeling uneasy. His wife was another fashionista, pretty popular around the riches. She greeted him from the chair and all of them sat silently around a tennis court size dining table. Jungkook searched for the cordless phones to communicate with the others but there were none. Anyway.

"So Jungkook, how was the work going?" Mr Park thought of breaking the awkward silence.

"Not bad. I'm trying to cover up the sale drops." Said Jungkook after putting a small chunk of meat into his mouth. He must admit, Parks had a marvelous cook, so he gave his full attention on the food.

"You are indeed a good businessman like your father. I trust you in this matter." Mr Park spoke with his usual deep tone.

Jungkook looked straight up to him, "Why did you call me here uncle?" Beating around the bush wasn't his thing from the beginning.

"Why so hurry? Let's finish lunch first." Mr Park said, without looking up. He seemed like enjoying his food too, or just buying some time. Suspicious.

"I've left our ad film shooting for this lunch and I have an important meeting in the afternoon. Can you please make it fast. Works are important to all of us." Jungkook put the cutlery down. What was wrong with them, why they weren't taking his words seriously, he thought.

"This is why I like you so much Jungkook. You're not like other young men at your age. You're smart, handsome and know your work very well."

When someone compliments you, you shouldn't interrupt, but Jungkook wasn't in a mood to enjoy his self praising. "Uncle please, come to the point."

"Oh Jungkook, you'll be very excited to know what dad has planned." Spoke Rose with a smile. Jungkook frowned at her, he had no clue what these people were talking about.

Mr Park cleared his throat, dragging his attention to him, "You know your father and I were best friends and business partners. We planned your wedding when you two were in pajamas." He paused for a moment to study Jungkook's expression, then continued, "Now that you two are adults, I'm planning your wedding son and-"

"Wedding? Now?" Jungkook was more than shocked. "But uncle, it's not been a month yet my parents died. The continuous drop of sale is giving me a headache and you're talking about the wedding?"

The question seemed to take Mr Park aback.
"Not the wedding, listen to me first. I was talking about the engagement."

Mrs Park laughed to lighten the atmosphere, "Our family priest told us tomorrow will be the best day. So I've arranged a party tomorrow night with some very important guests. We are officially going to declare your engagement there."

"You fixed the engagement party because your priest told you to?" It was so unexpected, so impossible, that for a moment Jungkook could do nothing but stare at her.

Mrs Park's eyes widened. "You don't know him Jungkook, how powerful his prediction is. He can sense danger from miles away. We always take his advice before signing up agreements. He said if we don't do this engagement within two days, then we have to do it six months later." She whispered the last words like there was a ghost who could hear her.

Jungkook had no words, he couldn't figure out if he should laugh at her stupidity, or he should cry for his own misfortune. He slowly turned his gaze towards Rose, who was proudly smiling looking at him. Jungkook wondered if she was also this stupid like her mother.

"Then why aren't you doing it six months later?" Jungkook asked from the other side of the planet, he felt like an alien surrounded by Goreo era humans.

"Ah! Actually, both of you are adults, and Seoul is filled with good looking people. What if one of you falls in love, you know." Mrs Park shrugged. "Like I trust Rose, she's my daughter but-" She stopped midway, giving a knowing look.

"I don't want to argue, uncle and aunty, but this is impossible for me right now." Jungkook firmly spoke but Mr Park snapped.

"Did you forget, your company can't do anything if I turn my eyes off of you?" Mr Park's dark eyes pierced through him.

"Are you threatening me?" Jungkook steeled, his fists were balled into tight fists under the chair.

"Think what you want, I can do anything for my daughter's happiness." Mr Park answered. An answer that wasn’t an answer at all.

Jungkook didn't reply after that, he lowered his gaze to the table, eyes unfocused. It was true that his company was depending on Mr Park's company but what he was doing was more like business. He wanted to buy a son in law by blackmailing him.

The silence stretched on, it was becoming unbearable after a while. Rose decided to break the silence. "Dad! Please don't talk with him like that. After all we are becoming a family." She smiled.

Jungkook sighed. He had reached the dead end. He recalled his father. It was his dream to take this company to the top three. If he wanted to break the contract with Mr Park then he had to pay the compensation and it was a huge sum. He slowly got up from his chair, bowed to Mr and Mrs Park and left without a word.

Rose wanted to come with him, but he stopped her by saying that they were going to meet at the engagement party anyway.

He couldn't even concentrate on the meeting in the afternoon. The thought of being in the birdcage was making him distracted. Namjoon handled the meeting skillfully. He was aware of the younger's downcast mood, as he knew where he was coming from.

Taehyung was worried too. It was his first time seeing his boss this gloomy, this couldn't be the old arrogant boss he knew. When everyone left the room, he slowly came near him, standing by his side, he asked softly, "Aren't you going home?"

Jungkook didn't look up, wearing the same colourless expression, "Why do you care?"

You can talk? I thought you left your tongue at home: he wanted to mock him. but asked politely, "Umm, can you tell me what pissed you off?"

Jungkook looked up this time. The person whom he hated the most, was caring about him? Maybe jungkook was wrong, he wasn't a bad guy like he thought. "Why do you want to know? Are you worried about me?"

"No." Taehyung smiled devilishly, "Next time I will do the same to piss you more."

Great, just what he needed. Jungkook grunted. "I hate you."

"Tell me something, which I don't know." Taehyung made a face and took a step backwards. "My shift is over. I'm going home. See you tomorrow boss."

"Taehyung."

Taehyung stopped. "What?"

He took some time to reply. "I have a deal for you."

Taehyung blinked rapidly. "What? Are you making me the CEO?".

He stared at him with grim eyes, ready to jump. "Stop joking, I'm serious."

Taehyung chuckled, it was fun to make this person mad. "Ok, ok tell me what's the deal."

"You know that your three lives are gone right? I can give all of them back."

Taehyung pinched himself to confirm that he wasn't dreaming. "How? But why?"

"Just take it as an energy poison, which can recover your past lives." Jungkook leaned back on the chair, looking directly into his eyes.

"Oh! Ok. But what do I have to do?"

"You saw that girl earlier, right? She's Rose. Her father and my dad were business partners. They made a verbal agreement about our marriage a long time ago, when we were kids." Jungkook loosened his tie, the office hours were over. He was free for the day. Seeing the attentiveness on the other boy's face, he continued, "Now because of some idiot family priest or something, they want to hold a party tomorrow and declare our engagement there."

"Cool. You two look perfect together. What's bothering you?" Taehyung crossed his arms, made a serious face. Those rich things flew over his head. Agreements, priests, engagements blah blah.

"I don't want to do this engagement. At least for now. Now you have to make it cancelled at any cost. Then you'll get your lives back." He rubbed his fingers over his lips out of excitement, making it a deep shade of red. Taehyung's eyes followed the movement.

"I-I, how can I?"

"Just use your mastermind. Think something cool. And the most important part, if anyone except you know that these are planned by me, then your other two lives will be taken away."

Taehyung's mouth gaped, followed by his eyes. It totally qualified as an oh-my-god moment. He stuttered, "Y-you can't do that to me."

"Of course I can. I'm the boss here. Think something before tomorrow night. Just remember, I can be very evil to you." He whistled and jumped on his toes. He felt much lighter, teleporting his own problem over another person's shoulder. He came closer, slowly put a hand under Taehyung's chin and closed his parted mouth, smiled at his cuteness. His secretary was indeed cute.

Then left him dumbfounded.

Taehyung turned a minute later. F*ckity f*ck.  Where was the deal? In both ways Jungkook would be the one winning.

Taehyung thought for hours on his rooftop, strolling from one corner to another. How he could break an engagement without anyone knowing, where he didn't even know those people. One 'sample' he saw in the morning, he was wondering if her parents would be as scary as her; if they were, then he would be gone. Dead meat.

"Taehyung-ah, are you free now?" His mother called. He came down immediately. "Can you go and bring your sister home? She's in her tutorial room and it's already nine." Her tone was serious, worried for some reasons. "She said some boys disturbed her yesterday. What if those boys come again."

"Oh, really? Why didn't you tell me before? I'm going there right now." He wrapped himself in a pullover and rushed to bring home his sister. It was approximately one km ahead of their alley. The road was quite dark compared to the big streets.

Dahyun's eyes lit up as she saw her brother from afar. She came with feather steps, smiling. "Oppa you've come? My friend was waiting to meet you but she just left."

"What? Who?" Taehyung amazed.

"I told you before my friend Mijoon. Remember? No? Ok." She pouted when she didn't get any positive response from his brother. Sigh Cupid!

"Dahyun-ah, mom said some brats are bothering you." They started walking through the alley. In tired but steady steps.

"Yeah." She said looking at her shoes. It was embarrassingly ignominious to her. To change the topic she said excitedly, "Oppa, can you buy me some tteokbokki? I missed our old days when you used to buy Sunoo and me a lot of street foods."

"Umm, sure. I missed our old days too." He smiled sadly. He didn't get his first month salary yet, still depending on his mother for money. When it comes to happiness, money isn't a big deal but at the same time it is. He was desperately waiting for this month to end, so he could buy his family's happiness again.

When they turned a corner, four boys came strolling towards them. All of them were around mid twenties, wearing bright clothes. One of them was bulky, where others were as lean as a ruler. "Hey pretty girl, I proposed to you last night, instead of answering, you've brought your boyfriend with you today? And just look at him, he's so fragile." The bulky guy grunted like a little pig and his companions laughed like he had cracked the biggest joke of the century.

Dahyun stepped backwards, Taehyung came forward, guarding her as a shield. "I'm her brother. Why are you bothering her? Just move from here you low-bred fools." His eyes became scarier than his boss.

"OMG! This boy can talk also?" Another ruler laughed out. "Listen big brother, let our boss have this slut and fuck off from here."

Taehyung fisted his hands and growled. "You fucking say whatever bullshit you want about me, but you talk about her then I'll make sure you won't see the next morning light. Get it?"

Dahyun panicked. She was more scared for her brother. It was impossible for him to stand against all four men. She kept on praying to God be there and save them.

The bulky boy snorted, "What did you say? You'll make sure I won't see the morning light? You'll kill me? You? With your delicate hands? Fine, hit me. C'mon hit me." He pushed Taehyung's chest forcefully. Taehyung stumbled back, he gathered some courage and threw a punch. It hit on the point, same as Jungkook's. Blood dripped the same way as his boss's. Boy! He was becoming a pro at hitting the nose.

But these brats weren't Jungkook. That bulky guy slapped him hard across the face.

Taehyung threw a punch but another boy came and held his hands. Shit!

"Why are you guys fighting here like this?" A deep voice came from their back, dragging all of their attention on him. The man arched his eyebrows, "What are you, grade schoolers?"

Taehyung got his biggest surprise of the day. It was none other than Hobi!

He almost forgot about those losers. The bulky one made a weird noise, "Who the hell are you sweetie? Another brother of this slut?"

Next thing Taehyung watched, hobis hard fist collided with his blood dripping jaw. HOLY SHIT. He went down with another blow.

Other boys came to stop him like flies, but like flies they flew up and fell on the roadside.

Taehyung held the bulky guy's hand with one of his hands and gave him another deserving punch followed by a nose smack.

Dahyun got all excited, she clapped, jumping on the spot as the unknown guy knocked-down those holy shits like a pro. It seemed like luck was on their side.

"Hobi, thanks. I didn't know you're a skillful fighter." Taehyung grind, still panting. Deep inside he was also scared.

"What thanks? You saved me the other day from hunger. I just paid back." Hobi shrugged. He was wearing the same gipsy outfit as that day. The only difference was that bandana wasn't there, exposing his killer forehead.

Taehyung didn't only save him from hunger, but also from committing suicide, but anyway. "Hobi, I must say, God sent you today. I'm also very happy to see you again."

"Woah! You two know each other? Daebak!" Dahyun came closer to them. The panic and fear dissolved, replaced by a surprised curiosity.

Hobi scratched his head and spoke after a pause, "If you think I saved you from the third world War, then buy me some food. My folks are hungry."

"Folks? How many are there?" Taehyung looked at his sister, she looked back, pulling her lips out. Taehyung didn't have much money in his wallet, he wished he could.

"Six. Except me."

Seeing her brother's hesitation, Dahyun came and whispered to him, "Oppa, I have some bucks, mom gave me yesterday." She opened the chain of her bag and pulled out a fifty won note. Taehyung took it, repaying their saviours was the first thing to do.

In the corner of the eyes, Hobi saw these but didn't say anything. He twirled on his heels and went to the nearest convenience store.

They bought seven packets of ramen noodles and some packs of potato fries.

"Wanna come with me? It's not far from here." Hobi asked, Taehyung and Dahyun shared glances.

"Ok." Taehyung wasn't sure why they were following this mysterious guy instead of going home, but a pinch of curiosity dragged them towards the place, Hobi's place.

It was an old warehouse. The sound of creepy crickets around the bush made this place more unbearable. The thought of being this poor and living in a place like this, engraved some sympathy in Taehyung's eyes. He wished that he could do more for his friend.

As Hobi said, there were six people in that warehouse, but he didn't know all of them were high on cheap weeds. The room was filled with suffocating smoke, so Dahyun covered her nose with her handkerchief and slowly moved to her brother's side, tapping his shoulder she whispered, "Oppa, are they good people?" She sounded pale, as she was speaking with a huge rock pressing her back.

"I guess so." What he guessed, was totally the opposite. He shouldn't come here in the first place. The tip of his tongue darted out, wetting his lips in a nervous gesture. "Hobi, I think we should go now. Mom is waiting for us."

Hobi put those foods on a messy broken table and turned to him. "Don't you want to talk with my friends?"

Taehyung shaked his head then nodded. He didn't want to sound rude. Dahyun clutched his shoulder more.

"Here, friends." Hobi clapped to draw their attention, "He's my friend Taehyung and his sister, miss, what is your name?" He looked past Taehyung, at Dahyun.

"D-Dahyun." She replied.

"Nice name. Guys, he's my friend and she's his sister. They bought you today's dinner. Say thanks to them."

Taehyung felt awkward as those six guys said thanks directly looking at him, like the kids in elementary schools say 'good morning' to their teachers.

He started to speak but Hobi cut him off. "Guys, remember them. If anyone of them asks anything from you, just help them. Ok?" They all agreed. "Hobi smiled as he turned to the guy in the glasses, "You can go home now, it's already late."

Taehyung came out of there with a pleased heart, Hobi accepted him as a friend that was all he was thinking about.

When he was about to press the button of their calling bell, Taehyung halted, suddenly something clicked in his mind. "Dahyun-ah, you go and tell mom to serve dinner, I'll be back in fifteen minutes."

"But oppa!"

Taehyung ran back before she could finish her words.

In the morning Taehyung got up early. Like other days he helped his mother in making tofus and did other works. After breakfast he quickly finished the shoeing, and hurried to the house of his grumpy boss.

It was quite surprising to Jungkook seeing his secretary this joyful. He thought he would see the dull faced tensed Taehyung but it was completely opposite. Literally he was just glowing brightly.

"Did you get a lottery or something? Why are you smiling so much?" The smile on his lips charmed, but the dark eyes mocked him.

"My luck isn't that strong mister, but I found something to solve your problem." Taehyung said looking outside the glass window of his boss's car.

Jungkook turned his gaze 90 degrees, "Really? This soon? Gosh! I underestimated you."

Taehyung snorted, "This is just the beginning Mr Jeon. You'll see many shades of me."

Jungkook snorted this time, eyes on the road. "Now tell me what's going on in your pretty head? What is the big plan?"

Taehyung thought for a while, "I can't tell you now. You can see it in the evening." He bit his lips, hoping that everything would go well.

Jungkook pressed his lips and nodded, "Alright. But remember, if your plan fails, I will kill you."

"I know, I know. Why are you always like this? Talking about gaming and killing? Have you by chance swallowed a joystick in your childhood or something?"

"So what do you expect me to say?" Jungkook laughed a little. Being with this guy, always made him alive.
