The grumpy man averts his attention from the clear huge windows that displays the city and bright blue sky as someone enters his office.

A medium sized silver tray is gently placed on Levi's desk by a certain (h/c) woman.

His secretary then takes a few steps back from his desk and fold her hands politely as Levi makes his way to his chair and plops down on it. Earning a squeaking sound from the chair due a long time of using it.

(Y/n) frowns upon hearing and seeing Levi's chair condition. She fishes out her phone in a second and soon her fingers are busy tapping the screen.

"Thinking of replacing the chair, aren't you ?"

Levi's cold and monotone voice snaps her out from the concentration on the phone. (Y/n) smiles as she puts her phone away, "You truly are amazing, sir. Right guessing." The woman nods and praises her boss in a polite manner.

"I can read what's inside your head, you know." Levi hums, then he leans forward and folds his hands together on top of his desk, "You don't mean it, do you ? About you quitting."

(Y/n) tilts her head to the side a little, "I'm afraid you're wrong this time, sir."

"Just what is your reason ?"

Her smile disappears and it turns into a face of hesitation.

"Is it because I made you work overtime for a whole month ?" Levi knows how strict he is when it comes to his employees.

(Y/n) inhales before answering her boss, "I'll post the job opening before lunch time, then. Leave it to me and the rest to narrow down the candidates. So then you'll just have to attend the final interview, Mr. Ackerman." It's really obvious that she refuses to answer his question earlier so she decided to divert the conversation.

Levi exhales a little before lying back on his chair, "Do what you want, I'll leave it to you."

A small smile appears on his secretary's face upon hearing his answer. She bows one last time before exiting his office through the luxurious double doors.

He silently watches her back. Walking further and further from him. Until she disappears behind the doors.

-

"I'll come to see you again, ok ?"

-

Levi can only heave a sigh.

--------- Meanwhile ------------

[Requirements : Candidates with the previous experience preferred]

(Y/n) publishes the job application terms as she finished typing the last sentences. After making sure everything is done, she puffs out her cheeks, completely unaware of a pair of sharp steel blue eyes staring down at her sitting figure.

"There.."

The secretary releases a sigh of satisfaction. But then..

"O-oh ! Mr. Ackerman !" Without making an effort to make his presence known, (Y/n), 3 seconds later, finally acknowledges the boss who has been standing in front of her desk with his arms crossed.

She stands up in a hurry, "Do you need anything, sir ?"

"I'll be in Ms. Zoe's office, Postpone any conference call to afternoon."

"Yes sir."

Levi walks off after that. But he stops in his tracks and turns around to face her, "Ah, I'll be having lunch at home, so you grab a bite to eat too while I'm not here."

"Yes sir." (Y/n) sends him off with a smile as Levi takes his leave.

Not even 10 minutes later, someone came approaching her desk with a rather excited squeal.

"There you are, (Y/n) ! Good timing !" Sasha grins at the secretary, "You're yet to have lunch right ? How about you join me ? I'm going to try the newly opened meat restaurant down the street !"

"I'm sorry Sasha, but I have something today."

(Y/n) shot her an apologetic look, but Sasha cuts her off with a gasp, "You don't even have to have lunch ??????" She asked as if it's the scariest thing the world, "Ahh come on just grab a bite with mee-"

"Sorry, maybe next time will do, hehe.. Byee !" (Y/n) scurried off, leaving Sasha all by herself in front of (Y/n)'s desk.

The brunette in the ponytail sighs in disappointment, a sad pout formed on her lips, "I just wanted a friend to eat with.. since the restaurant has a special price.. A 95% discount for two people.. aarghh there goes the meat discount."

Secretary (Y/n) was her last option because today everyone is busy and all of them turns down Sasha's invitation to eat at the restaurant.

"Hold on.." Sasha furrows her brows in realization, "I can just ask Niccolo for free meats. Why didn't I think of it earlier ?" The food lover slowly gains her happiness back.

"Free meal, here I come~"

------------- Meanwhile in Hanji's office

"....What could be the reason ?"

"What ?"

"On why she's suddenly quitting."

Hanji glances up from her documents, "Oh, you mean (Y/n) ?"

"..." Levi nods, "Until now, there wasn't a thing I didn't know. But I'm clueless on this one. It's so frustrating that I'm almost at my wit's end." He locks his gaze on the floor.

"Is that so ?" The brown haired woman with glasses couldn't help but feel concerned about her friend, it's unusual to see Levi like this. The fact that Levi came to Hanji for advice is already shocking as hell.  Hanji takes out two cans of drink and set them down on the table.

She nudges her head towards the cans, "When you're stressed, Titan juice is really the best."

"Never heard of that drink before. What the fuck is a Titan juice ?"

"Well.." Hanji snickers, "It' s a small brand I made a few years ago but I keep it to myself. You see, it's healthy and it will give you energy and happiness-"

Levi crosses his arms and shoots her a look of disgust, "You want me to drink a juice that's probably just a lump of sugar ?"

"Noooo-"

"Forget it. Back to the topic, so what do you think is wrong with her ?"

The woman pinches her chin, seems to be lost in her thoughts for a while, "Hmm.. Ten years on your service, that's some perseverance ! And, and..."

"Hm ?"

"Before the distance between you and her grow farther, talk about it and find a way out !" She exclaimed.

Levi contemplated whether he should do it or not. Why would he talk to (Y/n) and beg her not to quit ? Surely it will bring something suspicious. He has to make it as normal as possible.

"I'll give my thoughts tomorrow."

"Uh huh, just remember not to be a pussy and just talk it out. I know how you can get when you're hesitating about something, shorty."

There's no way vice president Ackerman will let himself get abashed by his annoying friend, Hanji.

A buzz from his phone caught his attention. As soon as Levi read the floating notification on his lock screen, he securried off from Hanji’s office without a word.

His pale fingers scrolls through the list of contacts on the phone as he enters the elevator.

“I want my car to be ready in 3 minutes, Braun."

------- At (Y/n)'s place -------

She holds the half eaten grilled sandwich in her left hand as she sat on a park bench. Enjoying her tiny lunch.

‘Soon, I'll be able to come to this park or take a walk whenever I want to-'

Her thoughts were cut off by a ringing sound from her phone.

Sighing, she reluctantly picks up the call, already knowing who it is, “Yes, Mr. Ackerman ?" Not too long after that, she furrowed her eyebrows together, “Eh ?" Upon hearing her boss' orders, (Y/n) couldn't help but gaped her mouth a bit.

“You want me to be there too ?"

The next thing (Y/n) knew, she's running back as fast as she can to the office lobby, seeing a familiar black car already parked there and ready to go.

After controlling her ragged breath and entering the car, (Y/n) gives the driver, Reiner, a small nod.

“To the Ackerman residence please."
