Haden

These past few days I've been avoiding Aubrey. I don't know why I brought these women here every night. I just needed to be free because I was very frustrated.

I woke up earlier than usual this morning. A brunette was lying next to me. I can't even remember her name. She threw herself at me last night, and I just brought her home.

I shook her awake. It's time for her to leave.

"Hey baby," she purred seductively. She wasn't even attractive, and she was trying way too hard. Her makeup was smudged, and she was naked under the sheets.

"It's time you leave," I stated as I got out of bed.

"We could have more fun," she winked, and I rolled my eyes. I was losing my patience with this girl.

"Look, whatever you thought happened last night was just pure sex and quite frankly, I want nothing more to do with you. So get your ass up and leave my house now."

She stared at me in terror, grabbed her clothes, and rushed out of my room.

A couple of minutes later, I took a shower and got dressed in some casual clothes. Today is Saturday, and I was planning to spend the entire day relaxing at home.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Why can't Aubrey leave me in peace? Damn it!

I opened the door and saw her standing there in some shorts and a vest. Her hair was messy, and strangely enough, she looked cute.

I shook these thoughts out of my head immediately.

"What do you want?"

"Umm, my parents called. They want us to come over at their house this afternoon. Initially, my sister was supposed to come over, but my parents sort of kept a gathering instead."

I released a frustrated groan.

"Can't you go alone?"

"No, they want us both there. Actually, your parents will be there too," she stated as she shifted awkwardly on her feet.

"Fuck! What the hell? Fine I'll go."

"Alright."

Aubrey stayed there for a couple more seconds unsure of what to say.

"You can leave now," I snared.

"Oh yes," She whispered awkwardly turned on her heel and left.

I returned to my room and called some of my friends. We're gonna hang out until later.

"Man I'm telling you, Golden State doesn't have a chance," Alex stated as we watched the basketball semifinals.

The group of friends I usually hang with is Alex, Nicholas ,Caleb , Derek and my best friend Vincent.

Alex had blonde hair and grey eyes. He is a friend of my family and future heir of his family's business. We've been friends since middle school. He is 25 years of age.

Nicholas is a redhead with deep green eyes. He is the youngest of us all, 22 years old. And of course we treat him like the baby of the group just to piss him off. He is actually the CEO of Hemsworth Corps. He took over from his father when he got sick two years ago. However, when his father was well enough to continue running the business he realized that Nicholas was already doing such a good job so he gave him the company.

Caleb has dark brown hair and blue eyes. He is 25 years of age and is currently the owner of the famous clothes brand 'Binge'. His outgoing personality and magnetic presence have earned him a reputation as a complete flirt. While some may find it irresistible, others may struggle to keep up with his flirtatious banter

Derek is the eldest of the group and the most sensible one out of the six of us. He has dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. He is 27 years of age and his father is constantly nagging him to get married. He is the owner of the shoe brand 'Gauff'. A multi billion dollar company.

They literally call us 'The Sillihonaires' The Six Hot Billionaires. It usually comes up in the magazines. I usually laugh at that name. How did they even come up with that?

It's something we find both amusing and puzzling. Honestly, we have no idea how the name came about or who first coined it. It seems to have originated in the world of tabloids and gossip magazines, where sensationalism often takes precedence over accuracy.

As a group of successful entrepreneurs and billionaires, we often find ourselves making headlines for various business ventures, philanthropic efforts, and, admittedly, our personal lives. The media tends to focus on our wealth, good looks, and social lives, painting an exaggerated picture of our daily existence.

While we don't take the nickname too seriously, we do recognize that it's all part of the public's fascination with the lives of the rich and famous.

We were all chilling at my house watching basketball and playing videogames.

"No way. Golden State will definitely win. They have Steph Curry and Thompson , they have to win." Nicholas interjected.

"I think Alex is right. Golden State doesn't stand a chance against The Raptors. They'll definitely lose," Derek added.

The guys were in a heated conversation about the game when Aubrey walked in. She was wearing black shorts and a sports bra. Her black hair was tied into a ponytail.

She wore a look of surprise on her face as she saw us. I guess she didn't expect to see us here.

"Umm sorry if I'm disturbing. I didn't realize you all were in here," Aubrey blushed as she backed away.

"Easy sweet cheeks, you can come hang with us. We won't bite," Caleb smirked.

"No it's fine. I don't wanna intrude," she politely declined as the blush grew on her face.

"We insist. Please come sit with us," Nicholas added.

Aubrey finally gave in and sat between Caleb and Nicholas. I don't know why but that bothered me.

"So, what are you guys watching?" She questioned.

"Can't you clearly see it's basketball or are you stupid?" I stated sarcastically.

Aubrey lowered her head. She looked like she was about to cry. Again!

"What the hell Haden? Do you have to be so mean? She was just asking a simple question no need to be an ass about it," Derek spoke and the rest of them agreed. I just rolled my eyes and continued to focus on the game.

"We're watching Golden State Warriors versus Toronto Raptors," Vincent told Aubrey and her eyes lit up.

"Raptors is my favorite team. I love them," she smiled.

"Sorry to break your heart sweet cheeks but Golden State is gonna beat them. Especially since we have Steph Curry and Thompson." Nicholas stated in a 'matter- of- factly ' tone.

"Well from the previous games I've realized that Golden State is good but Steph Curry has a slight hesitation when it comes to scoring three pointers under pressure. I'll admit he is good at free shots but his entire team is dependent on him. Thompson manages to shine through but his victory is sometimes short-lived. I'd say Golden State's best bet may be putting on Durant in the first quarter of the game if they want to even the playfield," Aubrey retorted. To say I was shocked was an understatement.

All the guys mouths hung open at Aubrey's words.

"Wow. Damn Aubrey. You sure know al ot about basketball and the team. You're amazing." Nicholas admitted as he stared at her in awe.

"Thanks. It's nothing really," she blushed.

"You're so cool Aubrey." Alex added.

"Yeah a whole lot cooler than Haden," Vincent sniggered.

"Shut up Vincent," I rolled my eyes.

We watched basketball and hung out for a couple more hours then the guys left.

"Your friends are so fun Haden," Aubrey smiled.

"I know what you are up to," I stated.

"What?" She inquired with a confused expression.

"You're trying to seduce them," I sneered and she gasped.

"No I'm not. How can you say such a thing?" She defended herself.

"I know of your whorish ways Aubrey. Just look at how you are attired. It just shows how desperate you are for attention," I growled.

"That's not true. I was gonna go for a run outside," she argued.

"Yeah right. I know what you really are up to. You're a worthless gold-digger." I barked as I climbed the stairs and entered my room.

About one hour later I was dressed and ready to go to Aubrey's parent's house. I was waiting at the bottom of the stairs for Aubrey.

What the hell is taking her so long?

A few seconds later she came down stairs and I felt as though I had stopped breathing. Her hair was pinned back and flowed down her back. She wore a royal blue mermaid dress that hugged her curves in the right places. As she approached, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of awe and admiration. She carried herself with a grace and confidence that was both captivating and humbling.

"Haden?" She questioned.

"What?"

"You kinda zoned out. I asked you if you were ready to go?"

"Oh yes. Let's go."

We arrived at her parents house in time for dinner. I sat opposite Aubrey at the dinner table. This actually turned out to be a bigger family gathering than I thought. Lots of Aubrey's cousins and family members came.

She was sitting next to her sister and they were chatting animatedly about something.

I realized there was an empty seat next to Aubrey. It's probably reserved for someone.

We were halfway through dinner when the door opened.

A tall guy with light brown hair walked into the room, exuding a confident aura. His steely blue eyes held a hint of mystery and intelligence. Despite his commanding appearance, he seemed youthful and energetic, appearing no older than 30.

"Mom, Dad, hey everyone. Sorry I'm late," he greeted referring to Aubrey's parents, Kate and Matthew. So he's Aubrey's brother. I haven't seen him before.

"You can have a seat next to Aubrey," Mathew gestured.

"There's no way I'm sitting next to that bitch," he growled.

I was surprised at his words and so was everyone else as the entire dining room fell silent.

"Blake please calm down. She's your sister," Kate intervened.

"Sister?" He laughed, "She is pathetic. I can't stand her and I'm sure as hell not gonna sit next to her. She ruined my life."

"You're causing a scene," Mathew interjected.

"I'm causing a scene? She is the one that tore our family apart. Maybe you guys should have left her to die," he spat.

Wait, What? I don't know what's going on but that was too far.

"That's enough Blake. That was out of line," Mathew yelled.

Aubrey hadn't said a single word and she looked like she was about to cry.

"Why should I care? It's not my fault she is adopted and newsflash she would never be my sister," Blake shouted.

Aubrey got up from the table and ran outside sobbing.

The entire room was silent. No one uttered a single word.

Aubrey is adopted and why does her brother hate her so much?
