'She's using her suppressor?!'

Static reacted instantaneously when he realized what was around Canary's neck, and created a wall of energy between the two without even thinking, one that separated the enormous room into two.

Right after, a Cry that caused a bit of blood to come out of one of Static's ears despite the barrier crashed into the wall of crackling energy.

Still, Static continued to hold his palms out despite the mountain of force pushing him back and the numerous cracks that continued to form in his only source of protection.

'This isn't working, nothings working!'

He couldn't beat her in close combat, and her Cry nullified any advantage he had at long range, so what could he do?

'I need time to think, and I need to do something different if I want that time..........oh C'MON!' In his mind, Static sounded shocked at the idea he came to.

'All or nothing I guess'

With noticeable strain in his arms, Static changed his hands positioning so that it was one palm facing upwards and the other facing downwards, with the latter being above the former. While doing this, two tiny barriers of blue formed over Static's ears to the same effect headphones would cause.

In a swift motion, Static's hands both came together and made an audible clap.

The wall of energy mimicked his movement as the energy from both the bottom and top of his barrier fell into each other, creating a dense and unstable line of blue that stretched across the room the same way the wall did.

An issue with this, though, was that Static no longer had any protection against the Cry.

However, before he was blown back due to it's pure force, Static managed to flick his still together hands.

The line of blue rocketed across the room in synch with his motion, tearing the walls on either side of it and forcing Canary to flip over it, where it continued it's charge and crashed against the part of the stage where the walls turned inwards, evaporating afterwards.

During this, Static was pushed backwards due to the fact he was momentarily exposed to the force of Canary's Cry, the blockers he put over his ears stopped him from losing his hearing, but it didn't stop the ringing in them that followed.

After taking a moment to get his bearings, Static looked at the pure destruction in front of him.

In a line going from his position to the curtains, the walls on either side of him had a decently sized line in them, with pieces of the structure still crumbling onto the ground.

The impact even caused the red curtain that separated the stage and backstage to only loosely stay up, and the effect of the cleave seemed to cause the turned over chairs in the rooms centre to scatter around even more.

Canary looked around her, wide-eyed at the chaos that had taken the place of the proper and beautiful room from before.

"Holy shit I just sliced a room" Static spoke under his breath with a bit of awe at his surroundings.

Sure he knew he could create barriers, and even recently learned how to make small weapons, but he managed to condense an enormous amount of energy and shape it to the point where he almost cleaved an entire room in half.

Still, it was draining. Static already felt the exhaustion of overexerting himself by carefully controlling and condensing that much electricity, and found himself a little droopy.

'That was dope as hell, but should I do it again? Unless I release 5 at the same time she'll just avoid them'

He decided against it, as using that much of his power as well as the mental stress that came with perfectly controlling it would cause him to be out of action for the rest of the night.
Since Static's goal was to assist you, that wasn't an option.

'The exits are behind me, so I can just book it. But if I do that then she'll catch up to me, I have to find some way to either get her off my track or make her lose sight of me'-

"Virgil, what was that?"

Canary's shocked voice brought Static out of his thoughts, and he could see her look around the area with a sort of awe.

"How did you......." She shook her head, and Static could see she had gotten over her shock and was once again ready to fight.

"Why are you surprised? We both know if you took of that suppressor and gave it all you had then this entire building wouldn't stand a chance"

His retort caused her to glare at him.
"If I did that, your organs would melt and this place would collapse on you, is that the option you want?"
"No, just wanted to put in perspective how something to this level should be expected, just like how we should be going after Villains who are more than just cake baking weirdos"

Veins were visible on the side of Canary's neck, but Static held his ground and his determined expression never changed.

"You have no idea the world you'll be walking into Static, you aren't ready"
"I AM!"
"YOU'RE NOT!"
"I AM! MORE THAN EVER BEFO"-
"THE TITANS WEREN'T READY SO WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU ARE?!?"

Static flinched at the Hero's outburst, while the enraged expression on Canary's face froze, and slowly relaxed.

"You wouldn't.....you won't understand. Enough talking, I'm bringing you in"

He had no time to dwell on her words since he saw her taking a breath in.

Instantly, Static made formed to dagger-shaped objects in his hands and threw both of them her way, all while starting to sprint towards her.

She expertly dodged the both of them by moving her upper body to her left, then to her right and slightly backwards, managing to get out of the way only to come back to her normal position and release a Cry.

Static could visibly see the shockwaves coming his way, but just barely managed to avoid a direct blast by hopping in the air and allowing his Saucer, which he had already brought under him, to catch him and move him out of the way in a blur of blue.

The sonic waves of the Cry destroyed the area where he previously was, Static soared around the attack in a panicked thought.

'What I did before was cool, but that won't work either. I can't beat her. Unless I somehow get instantly better at hand to hand-........wait'

And idea came to mind.

'What if I don't need to be good at hand to hand combat? What if all I need to do is up the power behind my punches?'

Static created a few daggers of electricity and threw them at the Hero while he circled her in an attempt to buy more time to think.

'I mean, someone like Superman doesn't have to have any formal training to be able to beat someone who's mastered combat training, since his physical strength negates that'

'But, how the hell do I do that?'

"WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS TAKING MY SWORDS?!"
"WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS SWINGING AT MY FUCKING HEAD!!?"

You brought your forearm up to the side of your face, then placed the flat end of your blade against it. Not a moment later, the swing of a sword met where you had blocked and you were sent skidding to the side due to the knock back.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER ONE??!"

"I LOST IT OKAY!"
"YOU WHAT?!?"
"Oh dear"

"These" You managed to deflect a diagonal strike from Ravager by resting your palm against your blade's tip and blocking with its flat end, using it more like a shield rather than a sword.

"Things" You used your hand which was still on the hilt to bring it upwards, rotating the sword so it was perfectly upside-down, blocking a horizontal swing that caused your arms to ache.

"Are" She spun, and you barely had time to block her blow and were forced to do it with the bracelet that adorned your wrist instead, which in turn caused a whiplash and your arm to be sent to your sides at a high speed.

"Beyond" She brought her sword upwards , but you changed your hold on your sword so that you were pushing downwards, which stopped that swing much easier than the other ones, which in the end caused you two to be face to face.

"EXPENSIVE!" She lunged her head forward before you could react, and you would've been hit with a headbutt of her own if you hadn't pushed your sword, which was also pushing against her own, downwards with extreme force.

Due to this, her balance was off and she fell just short of your chin, directly into your raised knee.

Yet, instead of going limp or reeling back, she raised her head upwards at a frightening speed, hitting your chin directly.

For a split moment the world went black, but you were brought back into conscious just in time to witness a high kick connect against the side of your skull.

The world went black again as began to fall to the side, but you were brought back and instinctively held out your or sword horizontally.

Not a second later, Rose's sword connected with it right over your mid-section as you crashed into the ground back-first.

She didn't let up though, and instead continued to push down from her position, which was still on her feet, and in turn caused the blade to get closer and closer to your chest.

Before your sword began to press up against you, you used your foot to kick her as hard as you possibly could in her shin.

Her foot went flying backwards and, as a consequence, made her lose her stability.

You used that moment to deflect her sword into the ground beside you, and immediately after rolled backwards and onto your feet.

"WHAT EVEN HAPPENED TO THE OTHER ONE?!"

There wasn't any time to take a breath since you were forced to sidestep another swing of her sword.

But halfway through the downward swing, she switched it's trajectory so that it turned into a horizontal one.

You barely managed to get the stolen sword you currently had up in time to block the blow, even skidding to the side due to it's force.

Now that you were a few feet away from her, you planted the blade into the ground and used it as a form of support while you tried to catch your breath.

"What would you say if I....hypothetically of course....possibly......loooooosssttt iiiitttt???"

Ravager just stared at you with a face void of any emotion, but you noticed the change in her eyes.

Her face then changed to a smile, one that you found to slightly maniacal.
'I'm in danger'

In less than a second, Rose went from a few feet away to directly in front of you.

You already had your sword up to block her swing, and using as much strength as you could muster you managed to deflect her blade and pin it down with your own.

Using this, you kicked her directly in the mid-section, managing to gain some distance as she was pushed back.

Right after though, she swung her sword so quickly you barely had time to move your upper body out of the way, dodging the strike and then immediately moving backwards.

You blocked the next swing with your sword, then ducked below the one that followed, all while moving backwards.

Suddenly, you felt your back meet another back, and quickly peered over your shoulder to see that you had bumped into a butler.

He noticed as well, but couldn't react as you slipped behind him and pointed over his shoulder.

"You should probably duck that"

He followed your hand, only to see a hilt a centimetre away from his face.

At the collision, he crumbled to the ground, with you having a look of disappointment. "I told you" You shrugged.

When you turned your head, you found a vertical slash making it's way towards your shoulder, and your eyes widened.
'Shit!'

Bring your sword up, you managed to block the blow. But before you could feel all of it's impact, you stepped to the side and directed your sword from below to on top of hers, slamming it into the ground in a similar manner to before.

Then, you brought your sword forwards and slightly upwards, a direct line between her gut and your weapon.

Suddenly, with her free hand, Rose removed a dagger from her outfit's side and blocked your swing,  the veins on her arm visible from the effort.

You kept pushing though, and to your surprise the mini blade went flying out of her hand after a few seconds of a struggle.

Still, your entire strike had lost all of it's speed, and Rose managed to bring her hilt and consequently, her blade upwards in time to stop your strike.

With her free hand, she then proceeded to gut punch you.

As the air was knocked out of you, you decided to take a few steps backwards instead of continuing your guys's clash.

You didn't have time to think as faint glow of green in the corner of your eye caused you to immediately duck, and a green blast zoomed overhead, but dispersed when it met Rose's sword, which she used to block it.

"Sorry!"

You looked behind you to see Starfire with a concerned look on her face, only for it to change as a multiple butlers seemed to resume their fight with her.

"Damn, the purple she's wearing really contrasts this place's whole vibe. How'd you all change into your Hero outfits so quickly by the way? I understand Kid-Flash but"- You stopped talking as you turned your head back towards Ravager.

Reality then hit you, and by reality I mean Rose, as you received a punch directly to your cheek, one that caused you to stumble backwards and plant your sword blade first into the ground, using it as some sort of cane.

You flexed your jaw by opening and closing your mouth, then looked at Rose with an offended expression.

That expression changed to confusion when you saw how genuinely angry she was.

"They weren't expensive in the way you were thinking, dumbass" You heard her mutter under breath.

Cocking your head to one side, you were about to ask what the big deal was, but you couldn't even get the words out before you saw her flex her sword and crouch down slightly.

Taking your own stolen sword off the ground and holding it properly, you readied yourself for what was to come as you could see Rose's muscles bunch underneath her outfit.

"Boo"

A voice directly in your ear caused every instinct in you to flare up, and you swung behind you as the world went black and white.

You managed to see the faintness of a yellow and red blur before your blade met nothing but air.

"You seem to be giving trouble Flower, want some help?"

Snapping your head back in Ravager's direction, you found Kid-Flash leaning on her with one of his elbows, his cool look contrasting the anger on display as she stared at you.

Your disoriented gaze quickly changed into one of amusement. Whether the change was tactical or genuine would be up to interpretation.

"Flower? Oh I GOT to start using that one"
"I KNOW! She gets so mad when I call her th- HEY!"
He pointed at you.
"YOU THREW A THINGIE AT MY LEG!"

You looked at him in confusion.
"Did I?"
"What?"
"Or, was it all in your mind?"

The Hero looked at you, then looked down at his leg.

"I'm bleeding"
"But are really?"
"Yes"
"Fair point"

You felt some air come back to you, and a bit of the exhaustion from all the fights slightly fade as you finally had time to catch your breath.

"You're slower too"
"I wonder who's fault that is?"
"Me too, I think it's the girl with the sword?" You gestured to Ravager.

"You literally also have a sword"
"Proof?"
"Look at what's in your hand"
"This?" You looked down at your weapon. "This is just an oversized dagger"
"You............you're right"

He looked at the Hero who still hadn't taken her eyes off of you.

"Are you the culprit?" He asked seriously, but after a few seconds he broke into a smile and nudged her.

"Kidding, I'm kidding"

Rose changed her gaze so that she was staring at him in annoyance, but her face slightly softened.

"So, how are we doing this?" He asked, cocking his head to one side as he motioned towards you.

"Alive, but injured. Very much injured" She responded, which caused you to stare at the floor with a dead look.

'Static, I swear to god if you don't come help me soon I'll let you have a session with Hugo if we get back'

Ok, so, in a few chapters there will be a tone shift. So, just a warning for that.

Also, just to explain, the reason why Canary is wearing a suppressor is because it limits her Cry so that she can only output a certain amount of force, one that's been measured and deemed non super lethal. But without one, if she attempts one to the amount shown before, she could go overboard and end up releasing one that's way stronger than intended.  Just an explanation in case you were confused on what that part of the conversation was.

So yeah, see you all next chapter.
