5 figures stood opposite to you. Earlier in the day they're were 8, but 3 of their members had already been withdrawn.

Black Manta, the killer of Atlantean's. You could see the dents in his armour, specifically the face. It looked like with just one more blow, the helmet would crack. A single black blade stuck out of each of his hands, seemingly coming from his suit. He was slightly hunched over, frozen by the feeling you were giving off. The moon hit the glowing red on his helmets eyes, almost as if he were a demon.

Livewire, the one of the few people who not to the others knowledge, could free them of the bombs implanted into their skulls. Dark and red bruises could be seen across her pale skin. Markings left by the damage you inflicted onto her in the stadium. Blue crackled in both her hands, illuminating the surrounding area.

Harley Quinn, the maniac. She had a blank look on her face as she stared at you. Blood was leaking form her nose, a consequence of the kick you delivered to her which closed the battle on the platform. Her spiked bat dripped with blood, the strike to your cheek still visible to all. The light given off by Livewire made her weapon seemingly shine.

Deadshot, the mercenary. The one responsible for the two bullets that you had to forcefully remove from your body. The one responsible for your fall off the roof. He always kept his distance until now, but that doesn't mean he wasn't hurt. His battle with Robin could be seen. Slashes to his armour, as well as dried blood were visible on him. He had whatever gun he had decided to use gripped tightly in his hand.

Katana, the wielder of Soultaker. Her weapon seemed to be leaking something. A green mist was steadily rising from it, going unnoticed by everyone but you. Blood dripped from her lip, splashing onto the ground below. Her clothes were slightly torn, with slash marks on her black sweater. She seemed slightly out of breath, almost as if she sprinted over here.

You looked at them all. Some of them frozen, while others held a look of defiance. These and the other three that weren't here were responsible. Responsible for the hell that you'd been through. You were angry, too angry. You didn't ask for this, being hunted like a wild animal for a death you didn't even know was the Joker. Yet here you were, on the brink of death surrounded by what 9 days ago you believed to be merely comic book characters.

'No no no, you did this. Take responsibility. Don't complain that it's not my fault, because
in the end I'm the one that drove by blade through his heart. I'm the one that killed the Joker. The one that buried Jack'

Katana was the first to move, and at the sight of her glowing green blade......you smiled.

Robin went his own way, jumping from rooftop to rooftop in order to find you or Static. The wind seemed to pick up slightly with every leap, while his desperation grew.

He couldn't lose one his friends, one of the few people he could drop his mask around. How could he? Dick trained them to work as a team, so what happens to the team when one of the members go missing? He couldn't let Dick down, he couldn't let Static down, he couldn't let his team down. They deserved a competent leader, it was his responsibility. He needed to prove to others, to his father that he could be more than just a burden. Or was it to prove that to himself?

Damian was so lost in thought, that when he came too he realized he had stopped running. 'But why would I'-

He felt it. He wasn't alone. Another presence was with him on the roof, one that was familiar. For some reason the air around him got cooler, yet a head of sweat fell down Robins forehead. He hadn't moved since he stopped, not even when footsteps broke the silence of the rooftop. Echoing behind him, he finally heard her voice.

"Hello Damian"
"M-Mother?"

The voice of the one person he never wanted to see again. The one of the few people he would almost break his new no-kill rule to. He turned his head, finally seeing her.

"You seem upset to see me again? That's no way to greet your mother now is it"

She had one arm wrapped around her chest, while she leaned chin on her other arms fist in a way where you would think she's thinking hard about something. Amusement seemed to gleam in her eyes.

"I don't have time for your games"

'Don't listen to her, don't get provoked by her. Find Static, that's the mission'

"What's the matter? Why don't we catch up son"

Damian withdrew his katana and swung for her throat.

A smile dawned your face as Katana charged. It didn't suit your bodies bloody and battered state. It even made Katana hesitate slightly.
'Here we go'

She spun her body right before she reached you. When she returned to facing you mid-swing, and swung her sword for an upward slash.

But before the sword could even get into the air for the attack, you stepped on it. Crushing the blade into the ground and letting a loud ring be heard by all present as it connected with the floor. Katana, due to the sudden change in force found herself on one knee while still holding onto her weapon

You didn't remove your foot, but you used the other one to knee her in the side of the face while holding her head in place so she didn't get sent flying back from the force. Keeping her head in place with one hand and her weapon with the other foot you brought down an elbow onto the the top of her head, before delivering a roundhouse which finally brought her down to the ground. You lifted your foot up prepared to curb stomp her into the ground, but low metallic sound made you roll out of the way.

Not a second later a trident went flying directly where you were moments before. You heard the sound once more, but instead of rolling out of the way as it went back to Manta you ducked your head.

As expected it came flying back at high speeds, but this time as it flew over you you dropped your sword and shot your hand out.

And grabbed it.

With one hand pulling you with the weapon you seemingly flew with it, reaching Manta with a kick to the stomach as you let go all within just a few seconds of gliding The force of the kick sent him flying back into the buildings ledge, audible cracks being heard as his suit collided with the cement.

You turned your body around only to be met with burst of crackling blue. It was like a wave of fury that seemingly washed over you, engulfing you into its depths. The sensation only lasted a second, fading away as quickly as it came.

Leaving only Livewire standing in front of you.

You shot out your hands, grabbing her by the throat and letting your katana drop to the ground in the process. You slowly began to lift her off her feet, as she continued to send wave after wave of electricity into your body. But with no effect.

"H-How is t-th-t-this poss-possible"

"Don't you remember what I told you?"

"You think with what I've been through, electric based attacks can hurt me?"

Your voice from earlier rang out in her head, only this time it seemed darker.

Everything only lasted for a few moments, but for Livewire the grip you had on her made it seem like instead of choking her out you were going to rip out her throat entirely. That look in your eyes. The unwavering smile that seemed to hide something behind it.
'Death?'

On the other side of you, you suddenly reached out your hand and grabbed the weapon that was going to slam into the side of your face. Your hand stayed there, even thought it just went through the spikes on Harleys bat in an attempt to stop it. Blood seeped through the small crack between your hand and the metal, some even staining the bat red.

"Oh sugar plums"

Was what Harley said before you threw Livewire into her.

You bent down to pick your katana up, but quickly grabbed it and spun your kneeling body around to block a vertical slash from Katana.

You were using the flat end of the sword to block it, while also holding it up by the handle and flat end of the blade. You slowly began to push back, shakily getting off your knees.

When you felt a slash to your back.

Your body automatically recoiled, making you lose your grip on your katana. Using this chance, the swordswoman kicked you in the same side Harley hit you earlier with the bat, before attempting to decapitate you as your body jerked to the side.

"So you've made your choice, Katana?"

Those words made her hesitate once more, her blade slowing down just for a fraction of a second. But that was all you needed, after all hesitation leads to death does it not?

You brought up your katana to block her own horizontal slash to your neck. You felt the flat side of your weapon bump against your neck form the impact, probably leaving another bruise.

You suddenly twisted your sword so that your handle was facing the night sky rather than the blade, while at the same time leaning backwards. Katana's weapon stabbed into the ground from the sudden change in direction.

Your back stung, it ached almost as if it had been slashed. Oh wait, it had. Speaking of which.

"Oh fuck it"

You stomped the foot that had not been kicked multiple times into the ground as hard as you could, and used the rebounding force to launch yourself into the air for a backflip. You barely got out of the way of another one of Manta's blades, as an audible whoosh of air being cut could be heard. For a split moment mid-air you guys came face to face. He looked up at you in shock, while even with all the scars and wounds on you you looked back at him with a smile. That moment ended as you landed behind him and attempted to strike where the dent in his helmet was. But Katana was suddenly beside you, weapon already coming down on your slowly outstretching hand. Or at least everything seemed slow to you.

Thinking fast, you stomped on her foot, slightly changing the way the blade was coming down allowing it to only just graze you. By the time your punch landed on Manta it connected with nothing but air, and instead a fist meeting your cheek was the only blow that connected.

"My my, look at you all grown up. I thought you had that silly little "no kill rule" like all the other incompetent Hero's"

Her sword rested against Damian's neck, just as his rested against hers. They were face to face, as nothing but rage could be seen in Robins eyes. He spoke through gritted teeth and said-

"You. Are. Not. My. Mother."
"Oh really? Then who is?"
"Alfred makes a better one than you"

On that cue Talia spun her body around, withdrawing her sword from his throat. But she kept going and delivered a spinning kick intended to connect to Robins body.

However, it met nothing. Looking up Talia saw Robin in the air above her, falling towards her with his right leg stretched out. She saw something small seemingly fall out of his cape but paid no heed to it.

Blocking it with her forearm, there was a brief power struggle between the two as Robin looked at her with pure resentment while Talia seemed to be amused and intrigued by the whole situation.

Due to gravity, Robin felt the initial momentum he had fade and used her forearm to kick off her. While in mid-air he launched an assortment of birdarangs at the assassin.

Running forward, multiple small throwing knives slid out from under her.....interesting choice of clothing's sleeves, and landed in the space between her fingers.

Throwing them at the incoming birdarangs, each and every one collided with each other. Both falling to the ground broken after each connection.

Robin didn't have time to admire the spectacle, because by the time he landed Talia was right in front of him.

Her leg was outstretched, as she brought it down for an axe kick. Quickly unsheathing his katana once more Robin used the flat end of the weapon to redirect the kick slightly as he jerked out of the way, causing the kick to collide with the ground and a small visible crater to be seen beside him.

Because he's just deflected the kick in that way the handle of his weapon was facing Talia instead of its blade, causing the strike he delivered to her gut to be non-lethal but still hurt.

Her body hunched over, her arms seemingly grabbing her stomach as Robin prepared an uppercut to her now exposed chin.

However, he suddenly found his body screaming at him to move. Listening to it, he leaned his head back.

Barely avoiding an upward slash.

You barely avoided an upward slash.

You had just barely recovered from Harley's punch in time to move out of the way of Mantas slash.

You went for a gut punch but had to stop to block Harleys bat with your sword. Using that chance Katana managed to deliver a slash on your shoulder before you pushed off Harleys attack and moved out of the way.

Instead though, you felt another slash to your back. Turning your head behind you slightly you could see Livewire.

Who in her hand held the outline of a sword made out of electricity.

There were no details or distinct patterns on it, hell it was just blue in the rough shape of a sword. Almost as if it had been hastily made in the moment. A low crackling sound could be heard every time she move for, but you didn't have time to admire the new weapon.

You brought up your katana to block another strike from Mantas blade, before deflecting the strike to hit Katana's own slash which was approaching. They hit each other, but you didn't have time to celebrate. Harley had already swung during the chaos, directly hitting the same spot she hit before, your side.

Robin felt a kick his side after dodging the slash.
He buckled down, before feeling the sensation of two hands on either side of his face. The next thing he knew a knee connected right to his chin. Everything went dark for a quarter of a second. The ringing in his ear surprisingly seemed to snap him out of it, his eyes widening back to normal as he continued to fall backwards.

As he fell backwards, he grabbed Talia by her suit and flipped her over onto her back using his legs, while he laid on his own.

The next thing he knew she had somehow gone from on the ground past where his head was to holding a knife to his throat. She looked over him, her hair falling to the side as she stared into his eyes.

"I love you Damian, after all you are my son. You are one of the greatest fighters the League of Assassin's has ever raised. You are the future Batma"-

"Oh shut the fuck up"

She didn't see him reach for his birdarangs, as he threw multiple at her. Specifically aiming for the throat

Reacting quickly, she removed the knife from his neck and deflected them with it, using it to stop them from connecting with her body. An audible clang sound being heard with each block.

When Damian got to his feet, he was met with a sparta kick, and was sent hurling across the rooftop as he fell to the ground.

You fell to the ground, gasping for air from the pain of the definitely broken ribs as well as being pierced from its spikes. You were backfirst, taking in slow and heavy breaths. Although that's what it seemed like to you, in reality you had only just fell down. Using this chance Harley swung her bat down onto your head. You rolled out of the way, avoiding the strike while the cement where your head was previously broke and caved underneath the strike. You managed to get into a kneeling position, before both Katana and Livewire grabbed you by either arm and shoulder, seemingly holding you in place.

'What in the-
Well shit'

You forgot. How could you forget? You were an idiot, or at least that's what you were thinking to yourself as you stared at the one on the opposite side rod the rooftop to you. You were so busy fighting, so busy ignoring the pain and blood, so busy feeling the adrenaline pumping through your veins that you forgot. You forgot that you'd only been fighting 4 out of the 5 people here.

On the other side of the rooftop, he stood there. Gun in hand, aimed directly at
