MAYA'S POV

The Sangeeth is today evening. The bride's side of the family was gathered in the living room. Kids, elders, even the dog Polo, who just came back from his local adventure to gods knows where. Vivek was sitting beside me as my co-plotter. We were planning the most secret assignment ever.

Trying to destroy the grooms side's dance programme.

Our dance was set and prepared and let me tell you it is fantastic. I didn't know my amummas hips moved like butter. Jeevan uncle and Latha aunty had a duet choreo. Amumma was the center dancer of the girl's dance. Even my asshole of a dad was dancing with the uncles. Because he loves everyone except me.

I turned to the whiteboard, or the makeshift whiteboard made with four big slices of flower paper. I had drawn my game plan over there. Well, Vivek drew it I explained.

It was simple. We go over to the outhouse, we either copy the song they have selected and dance to it before they get to do it, Or We destroy their entire soundtrack. The classic break the CD, damage the pen drive that sort of thing.

Vivek had declared war yesterday. I dont know what happened between Adhi and him, but Vivek hates him now. He only disliked him earlier now it is pure nemesis. I called adhi and asked him what happened but he laughed and said that he is just being protective. I agree but this is more than that.

Every time I mention adhi or every time someone mentions my wedding Vivek fumes like a dragon in a microwave. And varun just bursts out laughing every time. Something has happened last night and I have to find out.

And because of this feud Vivek volunteered to be the bait. He will go hide the track when I distract the hottest guy in the room. My boyfriend. And the matter of the rest of his cousins, that I will have to improvise when I get there.

Tara was completely excluded from this mission because the love-struck puppy will immediately blabber it to his man, who is a blabber mouth himself and go tell his blabber mouth brother and the whole family will know. So its a secret.

As we go down there, Vivek in complete robber makeover, Black hoodie, black pants and black gloves.

"We have one shot and thats it. Please dont overdo it, just grab the track and leave discreetly. you know what that mean right? Dont create a scene." I pressed.

"I know, I know"

"Just wait until I seduce adhi -"

"Seduce adhi??" Vivek grabbed my hand and starting walking back to the direction we came from.

"Thats your game plan, you be the temptress and I will be the robber?"

"You got a better idea?"

"Well no but"

"But what? And besides Ive done worse with him" I slapped my hand to my lips the minute those words left my mouth.

Vivek shrieked "What?? YOU SLEPT WITH HIM?"

"No Not yet. Thats not what I meant." I tried to cover up my mess but dragon was about to explode the microwave now.

"Ugh I dont believe that guy. GOD! I wanna kill him. Who does he think he is to date my sister?" he yelled.

I just stared at him with wide eyes, this guy takes territorial to a whole new level. A small spread across my lips as I asked " What happened between you and him? Why are you wound up?"

"Because that idiot is gonna propose thats why!"

My jaw hit the floor. "What?"

"Oh shit shit shit shit. Oh im such a snitch." Vivek panted.

I just grabbed the guy by his hair and made him turn towards me. "What did you just say?"

"Hes gonna propose Maya. And then hell take you away from us. They already got Tara now you too. I hate those guys"

I just smiled through my tear stricken eyes and hugged my giant older baby brother. Vivek, even though is a cousin, it never felt like he was nothing less than a sibling. We fight, we cry together, we laugh together, and we go to all extremes to prank each other. Now he was worried that some guy (I love you adhi) whom I met 7 years ago is gonna take me away from my brother?

I smacked a kiss on his face and assured him that no one in this world can make me stay away from my family, my blood.

We slowly approached the enemies camp, our first task had accomplished even before we could get in the outhouse. The song they were playing were Dilliwali girlfriend from YJHD. I immediately texted the song to Mahima, who will create a small choreo and move it up the schedule so that we could perform it before they do.

Vivek ran towards the kitchen door as I rang the doorbell. A girl in her teens wearing a t-shirt and yellow pajamas opened the door. She welcomed me in and asked me to sit while she gets adhi. They were really nice, I almost didnt want to destroy their track, almost, but not enough.

So I asked the girl if I can watch practise and she happily led me to the practise room. Oh poor girl! If only you knew. Her name was Pooja, she was adhi's mothers youngest brothers daughter, a medical student. She led me towards the dining room where all the furniture was moved aside so they get room to dance.

A group of guys and girls were standing in formation. The song merged into Udi udi jaye from Raees started playing. Thank god I didnt take that song even though it was my favourite. I waited as the song slowly started and when the crowd parted and my eyes literally popped out of their sockets.

There he was wearing an oversize sleeveless T shirt dancing to udi udi jaye, with even more gracefully than Ive seen any Bollywood actor does. Okay maybe thats the love-struck brain talking, but still the guy got moves. He was moving effortlessly with the groups as they spun in circle with the beat.

I was lost staring at the dancing god in front of me that I forgot about the robber who was squatting behind the stacked away chairs. He gestured me something which im not sure what he meant, but the text I got next second cleared it up.

'Stop drooling and get to work, he can dance big deal.'

Pooja moved through the group and whispered something in adhis ears. He turned suddenly and flashed me his 100 watt smile. He gestured me to wait and continued his dance. I wasnt complaining, I could watch him for hours.

Suddenly a girl turned around and stared daggers at me, she was standing right next to adhi and appeared to be his partner for the dance. Now cousin or not, that guy is mine, so whoever this girl was she needs to back off. But when the formation made its way towards me I got a clearer look at the girls face.

It was greeshma, the girl who likes him. God adhi is a hot price, everyone likes him. Khushi, Jeeth, Me and now greeshma. Who knows how many more?

Im so lucky, that this 6 foot price is mine.

Greeshma suddenly stopped the music and marched towards me. "Why are you here? Youre here to steal our dance moves arent you?"

I just smirked at her and ignored her, and moved towards adhi. Who was covered in gleaming sweat looking hot as Girl Get A Grip.

"Im telling you, shes gonna steal our moves." Greeshma shouted.

"Greeshu shut up!" Adhi scolded.

"Then ask her. Why is she here? Ask her" She shrieked. This girl needs help.

"Im here to see my boyfriend. That reason enough for you?"

The whole crowd oohed as greeshma turned red as a tomato. She started spewing all sort of nonsense at me. Then I realised, all the attention is on us right now that means. I slowly peaked at Vivek and saw that he already was on the move. He crawled behind the chairs and reached the laptop that was playing the song. He removed the pen drive used the needle he carried and damaged it so that it wont read when plugged in. He slowly plugged the pen drive back in and crawled back towards he chairs flashed me a thumbs up and exited through the kitchen exit.

"God just because this is your house that doesnt mean-" Greeshma was interrupted by a roaring adhi.

"If you say another word to her I will slap you. And everyones gonna agree that it was the right thing." He roared.

"Yeah stop being a brat greesh." Another guy spoke from the crowd.

Adhi pulled towards a corner and cornered me against the wall." Why do you wanna see your boyfriend now?" he smirked.

"Is she okay? Does she still have feelings for you?"

"Ignore her. Itll pass. Shes 16. We all know how stupid we can be with crushes at 16"

"Did you have a crush at 16?" I asked.

"Moving on" Adhi swallowed. I laughed.

"Why is Vivek so angry with you? Did you guys fight?"

"Is he really that angry? We didnt fight, he is just really protective of you."

"You sure there was no fight?"

"Yes! If I fought him it will show on his face. You know it" He beamed.

Oh did I know that. Ill never forget the way he beat up Jeeth that day.

"Okay then. I just wanted to clear that, Ill leave now"

Not so soon" Adhi pulled me back in and kissed me passionately.

He didnt care we were in the corridor, anyone could walk in and see us. He kissed me like hes dying of thirst and im water. When he pulled away we were both short of breath.

"Tonight, after the Sangeeth, meet me at the left portion of the roof. I have a surprise for you". He panted.

My heartbeat got faster. I know what that surprise is but I wont spoil it for him. I just pulled him in for another quick kiss, but when he was pulling in for more I pushed him away and ran.

"Maya..." He called out to me, his smile audible.

"Oh hey. Greeshma was right. I did come here to steal your moves" I laughed.

"What??" He yelled and chased behind.

I just shrieked and ran knowing damn well even if he could he wont catch me, Hell let me win.

My crush, My protector, My best friend, My boyfriend, My enemy, My soulmate, and now My fiancé.

Life is finally turning around for me.
