(y/f/f)=  your favorite food (pick a breakfast food for this one)

"Nonsense. You look starved."

'Because I am'. Was what you thought to yourself. You knew you were starving. At first, you thought it was normal, but when you spent my first year in school you realized it wasn't. Since you were little you did online school. You were left at home in the basement doing your schoolwork. You had only ever spent one year in an actual school. It was just before this. The neighbors complained about seeing you around the house but never seeing you go to school or even play outside. Eventually, the cops came and checked it out. Your mother had told them that she couldn't afford uniforms and that you were desperate to go to an actual school. The officers set up a fund and donated it to you. It was supposed to be for school supplies but your mother just took old uniforms from wherever she got them and spent the rest on drugs or booze. Before you had realized it he had placed a plate with some of everything on it in front of you.

"Here, try some. Tell me what you like, so I know for next time" He gestured toward the fork and napkin next to the plate and looked at you expectantly. You didn't know what to do. You were praised for not eating and punished for eating when you had to. So now there's someone in front of you encouraging you to eat. He wasn't forcing. He was being kind. Calm. You did what you thought he wanted and slowly picked up the fork and collected some (y/f/f) on it. You slowly brought it to my mouth and ate it. It was sweet. You had never had this before, and you loved it.

*Lucifer's P.O.V.*

Her face lit up as she ate the (y/f/f). She looked happy. She finished chewing and sat up. She hesitated before slowly taking another bite. I turned to my plate and ate as well. She seemed to relax when I ignored her hesitation. She took small bites of everything. She made it a small way through her plate before setting down her fork and fiddling with her hands in her lap. She had lit up from her previously pale state.

"Do you want more of anything?" I asked as she looked out the window onto the balcony.

"N-no," she said shakily.

She was lying, but she was shaking also. Normally I would confront someone about their lying, but I didn't feel that was needed here.

"You can have more. You seemed to like these, here." I took her plate and put more (y/f/f) on it. I handed it back to her and she seemed a bit startled. I ignored her startled-ness because I dont think I'm the best person to comfort her. I may be her father but I'm still a stranger to her. Why do I find that that saddens me?

"Here, drink something," I said as I set a glass of orange juice in front of her.

She stared at it, then gave me a confused look.

"Um, w-w-why is it orange?" She looked down as she asked, and I chuckled.

"Have you never seen orange juice before?" I asked, still laughing a bit.

"I-if that's what it is, then no. I haven't." she sounded ashamed as she spoke.

I stopped laughing at her serious tone. She had really never seen orange juice before. If she hadn't seen orange juice then what else hasn't she seen?

"What else haven't you seen?" I asked, referring to the food in front of us.

"Um. a-almost a-all of th-this?" she said, stuttering.

"Oh dear, really?" I asked. I was amazed at how little she had seen.

"I-I mean I-I've seen them before, b-but I just n-never h-had them. I-I'm sorry. I-"

Her breathing picked up a bit and she tensed.

"No, no. It's quite alright. There's nothing wrong with that. Actually I'm quite glad I get to show you all of this." I don't know why but that was the truth.

She rubbed her arm cautiously.

"Why don't you finish eating then go get cleaned up. I'll take you to get some clothes. " I offered.

Before I went to bed last night I went down to the club and picked up the backpack I had noticed she dropped. The bloody thing was barely holding together. It was a very small old black backpack, pieced together with different tapes. I brought it back to the penthouse and when I set it down it fell apart. I had noticed that her clothes were all very thin and most ripped. She looked at me with wide eyes at my suggestion.

"U-um you don't have t-to. I have clothes. Th-they're in my b-bag.......That I left downstairs" She said as she looked for her bag before realizing she left it elsewhere.
