Clay's POV

~ The Next Morning ~

'And?' I started with a soft chuckle, sitting next to Sapnap on his bed. 'He stayed here for long, didn't he?'

Sapnap rolled his eyes and shrugged shyly, staring at his hands because I knew he was upset about me having to leave decently soon. I had my bags packed and did anything I could to distract Sapnap, promising I would come with him when he went back to school.

'Don't be sad, Sap. Do you want to tell me about Jimmy?' I asked again because I just wanted to see him smile.

'It was really good,' he replied, some sadness making room for a spark of happiness. 'We aren't going to start a relationship in a while because we would both not be ready for it. Instead, we are just friends unless we both decide we want more than that.'

'Are you happy with that?' I questioned, seeing him nod slowly.

'Yes, because I'm too insecure to be in a relationship and after Jessie, I would prefer to make sure I can trust him before I just start something. I don't know if I'm allowed to tell you this, but I'm too excited so... He told me he's in love with me.'

'Aww!' I exclaimed, grabbing his hand. 'I'm so happy for you, dude.'

His smile faded as soon as he heard footsteps on the stairs. 'I don't want you to go...'

'Don't worry about me, Sap. I will be fine and you remember the plan we made, right? I'm pretty sure it'll turn out well in the end.'

He couldn't answer because the door was opened and our mother grabbed my bags, throwing them to the stairs. 'You're coming with us right away, Clay. We've got a call from a family who wants to take you into their home. I wished them a lot of good luck.'

'I'll wish you a lot of good luck,' Sapnap scoffed. 'Because you'll need more luck with me than they need with Clay.'

'Okay, Sapnap. Just go to school, because Clay isn't coming today. I've heard him promise you he would come too, but he's going to a different school today. Everything has been solved with the principal and you won't see each other ever again. If you get in contact, you'll have to pay charges for it.'

Sapnap was about to argue but I shook my head and laid my hand down on his thigh. 'It's okay, just leave it. She isn't going to listen anyway.'

'Okay, you've been rude enough, Clay. I can't wait to have a free room available in the house. Stand up right now, I'm excited for you to leave.'

'Maybe not being able to get children was a sign you wouldn't be good parents!' Sapnap exclaimed. 'I wish you would have never taken me into your house because you've caused more damage than you've done good.'

'Oh, you wanted to stay with your dad?' she asked him with a harsh tone in her voice. 'Because I can bring you to jail so you can discuss it with him!'

'You're such a bitch,' I groaned. 'How dare you say such a thing to two people you've been traumatised by their past? You took care of us to prevent us from getting more traumas and pain, but all you've done is make us feel worse and worse.'

'Okay,' she replied coldly, grabbing the skin on the back of my neck. 'Come with me right now or you'll face consequences. You've already said your goodbye, so Sapnap, leave to school.'

'I refuse to go,' he answered. 'And you can't make me go either. So, bring him to his new home, but you'll get someone who is ten times worse than Clay has ever been back.'

She didn't answer and squeezed my arm tightly as she pulled me to the stairs, throwing my bag down it without checking if it had any value and breakable things inside of it.

Luckily, I wrapped my important belongings in some bubble plastic and walked after it while my mother kept pushing me to go faster. I arrived downstairs and saw my father glance at me with a hateful look in his eyes.

I decided to stay quiet and just walked with them to the car, taking a quick and last glance at the house I had spent years at. Even though I hated being here because of how rude my foster parents acted around me, I was still going to miss the house more than I thought I would.

'Can I actually not stay?' I whispered, a voice crack in the end. 'I will do anything I can to behave myself, but I grew attached to the house and... I've been kicked out so often, I just want a safe place to stay.'

There was no response from their side and I was dragged outside, inside the car. A cold tear was going down my cheek as I looked at Sapnap's window, seeing him in front of the window with his hand on it.

I could see tears rolling down his cheeks as well, lifting my hand to somehow connect mine with his, but then my sadness made place for extreme anger.

'LET ME GO BACK!' I screamed out as I ran back to the door, opening it to run back inside as quick as I could. My father couldn't catch me on time and Sapnap sped to the stairs. I went up to them and ran into Sapnap's arms as we both cried loudly.

'I don't want you to go,' Sapnap whispered, sniffing loudly.

I let a heartbroken sob go and clamped onto him. 'I don't want to go either.... I can't let you behind. Please, help me.'

'CLAY, COME HERE RIGHT NOW!' my father screamed out as he grabbed my arm roughly. 'If you don't come NOW, we will personally pick you up and throw you inside of the car.'

'I don't want to go,' I stated as I grabbed Sapnap's hand while my dad tried to pull me with him. 'I AM NOT LEAVING HIM!'

He pulled even harder, so hard that it felt like I was about to dislocate my shoulder. 'NOW!'

I felt Sapnap's arms wrap around my waist, a hopeless attempt to keep me close to him. 'He is going to stay with me. I will ruin your lives until you kill yourself and I would usually never say such a thing, but I mean it. I hope you die if you take him away from me.'

He pulled even harder, an awful pain in my shoulder after it popped. I gasped and yelled out from the pain, falling down on the floor as I was picked up and dragged to the car with a dislocated shoulder...
