Sapnap's POV

I was cycling home from school, still alone because Clay and I hadn't talked to each other anymore. I hadn't seen him at school either, but didn't bother much about whatever he was doing. He was likely with Jimmy because he didn't show up in any of my classes.

I breathed out when I parked my bike in the garden, turning the doorknob to go inside of the house. But as soon as I opened the door, I realised there was a quiet and decently tense atmosphere in the house.

It didn't bother me that much because I figured Clay had done something wrong again and threw my bag on the floor to go to the couch as my parents stood in front of me.

'Hi?' I greeted them with a slightly confused voice because they didn't speak and just stood in front of me in silence. 'Is everything okay?'

'Are you Sapnap?' my dad exclaimed, grabbing me by my cheeks. I tried to pull away from him and grabbed his hand.

'Excuse me? Yes, I am Sapnap. There's no need to be this harsh...'

'We got a phone call,' my mother began, breathing out to hide the shakiness in her voice. 'From Jimmy's dad.'

'Okay?' I walked to the couch to sit down and lifted my feet up on the table. 'Congrats?'

'And do you know what he told me?' my dad yelled out, aggressively lifting me back up from the couch.

'No? What did he say?' I asked, starting to feel more and more confused because I had no idea what he was talking about.

'That you were at Jimmy's pool, having sex with TWO BOYS!' he screamed, squeezing my shoulders from anger. 'So you skip school, have some trio with two GUYS you barely know and then you lie about it too?'

'Excuse me?' I blurted, a shiver going down my spine as I realised Clay got me in trouble AGAIN.

'And there's no need to hide this anymore. Give me your phone right now and your bag.'

'What, why? I haven't done anything, I know it seems like I did, but I don't know Jimmy well and have no idea which other guy would have been there. I have never had sex before and that's none of your business, but you need to know that I wasn't in a swimming pool.'

My dad grasped my phone from my hands and my mother grabbed my bag as she came closer to smell my hair. 'It doesn't smell like chloride...'

'It's an indoor swimming pool, maybe they don't even have chloride in there,' my dad scoffed as he managed to open my phone because I put my birthdate...

'I'm sorry, but do I have a say in any of what's happening here? I haven't been in some random swimming pool and you know I'm shy. I have a girlfriend and we haven't even had sex. I don't think it's okay to just accuse me of something I haven't done.'

'Jimmy's father asked for the names of the people who were there and you replied with Sapnap...'

I swallowed, a shiver going through my body from anger, betrayal and sadness at the same time. Clay was with them and just told the dad my name to get out of the situation. Normally, I never betrayed him, but he had done so many shitty things to me the past few days...

I was about to open my mouth to speak as the front door opened again, Clay walking into the room this time. He glanced at me for a second and then to our mom who emptied my bag and all the stuff on the floor, our father who was reading through all my texts.

I walked past them and stepped closer to Clay, my hand wrapped around his wrist. 'You are the biggest betrayer in my life and I want nothing to do with you anymore. You're going to tell them the truth or we are enemies from now on. This time, I'm NOT coming back to you,' I murmured under my breath.

'I can't tell them the truth... They already hate me and-.'

'So they need to hate me too, asshole?' I exclaimed, so loudly that our parents turned around to us.

'Sapnap texted with George to ask what classes he had and said around the time he was supposed to be in the swimming pool that he wanted to hang out with George during the break.'

'Clay, give me your phone,' my mother demanded as she walked closer to him, smelling his hair just like she did to me. 'Oh, can you explain to me why your hair smells like chloride?'

'Uh-,' Clay stammered, stepping back more. 'No, it doesn't... There's no need to check my phone either. I don't know what this is about.'

My mother made such a sudden movement that within a second, Clay suddenly got hurt from it and fell down on the floor. I gasped and looked from my mother, who seemed to have purposely hurt him, to Clay. He was doing anything to hide his phone and I glared at him, still not able to leave him suffering...

'Clay, you're such a failure...' my dad muttered, rage in his eyes. 'We've always known we shouldn't have taken you into our house, but you're also gay, lying about your brother being gay and just going around to have sex with whoever you want...'

Clay climbed up and tried to run by opening the door, but our mother stuck her foot forward which caused Clay to fall back down on his knees. He winced softly and wanted to lift himself up as our father pushed him back by pressing his shoe on his chest.

'Dad, get off him!' I screamed out, so many emotions rushing through my body because my trauma was triggered as badly as it did when the teacher came close to me. 'DON'T YOU EVER HAVE THE COURAGE TO HURT HIM!'

My father frowned and turned to me with a laugh on his face. 'Sapnap, just go to your room. I have some business to do with Clay.'

'No,' I spoke out, standing in front of my father. 'You are going to stay off him or you'll have to hurt me first. Clay and I have gone through YEARS full of abuse, neglect and violence. I'm packing my bags and I'm leaving today if you hurt him with one finger.'

Clay lifted himself up and slowly opened the door to go upstairs. 'I'm sorry, Sapnap...' he whispered as he closed the door behind him.
