Chapter Eleven: His ex 

Sporting a counterfeit smile, You hoped that the awkwardness that bathed the moment would be transient. You swallowed, breathing heavily then said " Hello!" You greeted with a small smile before a heavy silence settled over all of you, thicker then the uneasy tension in the atmosphere.

While you were confused on why she was here,But more curious about the calm man next to you. Jungkook and Yuju were having an eye contact as if they're both waiting for the other to say something.

The girl before you began " I heard you're already back working! " she pursed her lips,her attempt to keep things light already waning.

You felt painfully out of place but didn't have any excuse to walk away nor you knew the place you should go, So you waited for Jungkook to say something but as if he totally forget you were standing there he took his hand from his pocket and checked the time on his rolex then spoke " You're early" 

Yuju awkwardly laughed "Yeah I wanted to be here when you arrive so we can talk before meeting the others." 

" You knew she was coming?" You asked suddenly , realisation of what you just said caused your words to become caught in your throat. You looked up and he was staring at you in bewilderment. you felt the heat rising to your cheeks and prayed it wasn't noticeable. You didn't know the real reason why you're becoming red, was it embarrassment, discomfort or anger.

Jungkook looked at Yuju when she laughed a little and looked to her right as if she was stating that 'It's obvious that I will be here' , Jungkook was about to speak again but the minute his eyes looked at your side again, the words in his throat. Seeing the disappointment etched on your face, he didn't know what's going on and only watched as You coughed and then pushed your hair back behind your ear, even though it was already there.

" I....I w-will go first." You bite your lips and walked passed the girl not even looking back at least once leaving Jungkook confused over your reaction but he had more important thing to think about now.

" She's a cute one. I am glad Jiwon invited her, I wanted to meet her.....Your wife." Yuju laughed not hiding the smirk in the end before the smile in her face disappear when the man she loves spoke.

" Is this a joke to you?  " He asked in his usual friendly tone, but it's different – She sense him already turning away, and she start to panic.

She walked toward him and held his hand to get his attention, Yuju soften her eyes and held out her hand, "Jungkook, I love you. I love you now and I always will. I'll walk away if you need time to cool down, but if you want to talk instead of walking away, I'm all ears." she said, breathless, a little desperate.

Jungkook yanked his hand away from hers and glared down at the girl " The fact that I agreed meeting you here means I am willing to have a conversation like a mature person, Yuju sshi." started and then paused. " But I am not the person who should explain himself."

Yuju looked down, hurt. " You know why I did it Jungkook, I have no choice.... They're my family too, I had to go and fix things with them or my happiness would have been ruined."

"Why didn't you tell me? " Jungkook questioned " The least thing you could do was giving me a call before you decide to run away and leave me on our wedding day." 

" I couldn't." She looked up at him. " Jungkook I swear I love you b-----" 

" There's no but after the word 'I love you', Kim Yuju." The man sighed then paused " And It's not love because you say it is, I sacrificed for you. I was willing to face all those threats and be with you but  you pushed me into it to save yourself from the thought that your family will be against you, isn't that what happened ?" Jungkook coldly said, his voice empty and emotionless. 

Yuju's eyes widened, she shook her head " No...T-that's not......No Jungkook I swear, please believe me, I k-know I was wrong I should have told you but i w-was so scared that my parents will hate me forever if I marry you so......"She paused, Tears  start to stream down her face like a ripple in a lake. 

With each tear fell.... a piece of his heart broke, but he walked away, he knew he should leave her alone to lick her wounds made by herself, If he was willing to forgive her and move on the least thing he thought of doing is making her realize what she did. 

" W-wait , Jungkook..." The girl run to him and held his hand again, she faced him and looked at his eyes " Let's work things out please, I made a mistake and I am ready to apologize every day if it means you'll give me a chance, please...."  Jungkook could see it in her eyes that she was broken " I went to my parents and told them everything I talked to the family friend too, no one is against us anymore, I made sure they knew I only love you and they agree....." the girl smile between her tears.

You were in the couch with Taehyung when Jungkook and Yuju entered the house, everyone greeting the man and teasing the couple while you watched. 

" Seems like things will work out for them." Taehyung said, smiling as he watched Jin making fun of your husband. 

" Y-yeah hopefully." You said, You'd be lying to yourself if you actually believed your words came from your heart, It wasn't like you didn't wish them the best after all Jungkook told you why she left, you couldn't hate her back then but after meeting her your thoughts changed. 

" What's for dinner? " Hoseok caught everyone's attention with his sudden question, it was around 5pm so it make sense thinking about dinner.

" Hmm I was thinking of ordering Pizza but Jin said he'll cook so it's up to him." Jiwon smiled, run a hand around her boyfriend waist and gave him a wink.

 Jung Jiwon, The girl you met earlier, Hoseok's sister and the owner of the house. she was beyond nice and welcoming toward you which made you feel less nervous especially that Jungkook was out of the people you'd talk to right now. 

" Yeah I will cook." Jin winked back at her " If Y/N will be happy helping me, we'll finish soon."

The eyes turned to you including Jungkook's and hid girlfriend, You avoided his gaze and stood up walking toward Jin " Of course, I will wash my hands and join you." 

" You can cook? Y/N sshi " Yuju suddenly asked faking a smile.

before you could answer, another person did the work.

" Yeah she's a great cook, we all enjoyed her food when Jungkook invited his coworkers for dinner." Jimin said from the couch.

Yuju knew what dinner the man mentioned and couldn't help but to feel bothered about it, after all she was supposed to be the girl meeting his colleagues. 

Jungkook kept looking at you, he'd be a fool if he didn't notice that you were trying to avoid his gaze.

Jin, You and Jimin worked together preparing dinner while Jungkook and Yuju and Namjoon was preparing the living room for the birthday party. 

From the kitchen you could hear their giggles as if nothing happened, Did he forgive her that fast? 

" She must have loved you a lot"  you remembered your words, the same words you told Jungkook when he told you about Yuju, You told him that you'd do the same if you were her and many things to make him feel better about her but now that he does, you don't feel good? 

Why? 

" Y/N? are you okay? " Jin whispered looking down at you, his voice concerned. 

You sighed like a slight spring breeze, soft and gentle, then said " I...... It's j-just..." Before you could finish, you put down the knife you were using and turned to stand against the sink with Jin watching you carefully " I just wish h-he told me the girl.....Y-Yuju will be here." You looked toward the door as if you are looking at the people in the living room.

" You didn't know she'll be here ? "Jin asked confused "She's Jiwon's best friend, and Jungkook knew she was coming from the beginning, he didn't mention it? " 

You sighed again, The sight that escaped your dry lips was slow, as if your brain needed that time to process you'll say next. " Guess he didn't feel the importance in telling me, After all I am just here for few months." Before losing your control, you grabbed a napkin and excused yourself saying you needed fresh air.

Jin didn't stop you but he sure has words to say to both you and Jungkook.

Hoseok said earlier that there was a pool with a beautiful view in the back of the house so you decide to walk there maybe it will help you calm down.

Hoseok was right with saying the view was beautiful, All you could see when you walked out was the mountains and a green view of the forest that was surrounding the house. 

He knew and didn't tell you.

He probably came here to meet her and like an idiot you followed him and thought you'll have a peaceful weekend.

About fifteen later you heard footsteps coming toward you, you turned to see Jungkook standing behind you " I see you found the place." He smiled and looked around " It's the first time we come here without snow covering the place, It's beautiful isn't it? "

You turned your gaze to the view again without saying anything, only nodding. 

" Amm Jin asked me to call you, he probably need your help in something." Jungkook said rubbing the back of his neck, feeling that you were quieter than usual. 

" Oh.....Thanks." You told him and start to walk away but he grabbed your arm gently stopping you.

" Wait Y/N....What happened? " He looked down at you, you weren't looking at his eyes but the hand he was grabbing your arm with which soon let it go. " You were exited when we first arrived? What changed? "

" I- " You hesitated, your mind racing to keep pace with your mouth, but you didn't want to give it a chance to catch up. " I am fine." 

before you could make one step he walked and blocked your way " Am I supposed to believe that? You're clearly angry with me, If I did something I might think it was okay tell me, so I can at least apologize."  

You finally looked up at his eyes, Jungkook almost took a step back from the coldness that seems to show in your black eyes, as if they matched the way you feel right now, Too Dark and deep yet holding something inside them that gave him the feeling that he needed to stay. " It's .... j-just something ....... Not important." 

" Come on Y/N Important or not, It's obviously bothering you " Jungkook sighed still staring at your eyes that were dragging him in " The cold stare I get from Jin Hyung and now you? What did I do---"

" Why didn't you tell me Yuju was coming?" You cut his words with your questions, you weren't planning on telling him but the words came out.

" W-what? " Jungkook wore a puzzled expression " I.......D----"

"Didn't think it was an important piece of news to tell? " You coldly looked at him, the man didn't imagine you looking coldly at him will affect him that much but he wanted to say many things but didn't find his words. " Well, It's important........ very important in fact, Important to the point that I wouldn't be here if I knew and important to the point that I want to go home right now but that will make me look stupid in front of everyone so I will stay out of both of your sights and will appreciate if you did the same." You said quickly, as if you were scared that something or someone will interrupt your words. 

Jungkook waited few minutes to find his voice again." I don't think I understand why you'd be bothered with her presence, It's not like we're truly married and I invited my mistress." Jungkook spoke with a tone you couldn't decipher and it feels like his words have made the situation worse.

Jungkook regretted what he said immediately after he saw you reaction, as your eyes bleed with pain right away and the way you start chewing on your lower lip

" Well Jeon Jungkook sshi, I am not your wife nor your friend because if I were you'd know that the thing I hate the most is feeling unwanted which is the same thing your girlfriend or any person in her shoes will feel toward a person in my situation right now.." you sniffled quietly, tears threatening to spill from your eyes. " And..... Stop making it like I am some sort of an obsessed person, We agreed to this together and It helped both of us and I am well aware It's all fake... Not that I am begging for this to be real anyway" your vision was blurry; it was difficult for you to see clearly and you knew what that meant so you walked away pass him refusing to let him see your tears. 

Jungkook stood there frozen, unable to move. ... he wanted to go after you to make sure you're alright, but something kept him planted in place, maybe shock, confusion or guilt?

For some reason It was painful for him to see you like this, It's not like he never saw you cry before but those times he knew the reason you were hurt and it wasn't because of him, but this time he couldn't help but to feel he was the reason behind your tears and it wasn't a good feeling at all.

You run over to the bathroom, making sure that the door was closed before letting your tears fell silently, you needed to let them out better than crying in front of the others. 

" I am stupid.." You waved at you face trying to calm down before washing your face wishing it won't be obvious that you cried " Why the hell am I crying.......Offffff" 

after few minutesn you finally walked out the bathroom and walked to find Jin to help him with whatever he needed. 

" Oh Y/N ah you're here....." Jimin came toward you " I need your help with preparing the table, those useless people can't do anything, please hurry I am starving.." The man held your arm and start dragging you with him, you couldn't help but to smile and thanking God your eyes didn't show that they shaded tears few minutes ago. 

You start to prepare the table when Yuju came " Did you see Jungkook around?"

" N-no, why would I see him?" You said while putting the dishes one by one.

" I just thought." She sighed " Do you need help with those?" 

You looked up at her before giving her the dishes " Place them down here.... Thank you" you decided to act mature, maybe she isn't that bad.

You all sat around the table and start eating, You and Jin prepared Mushroom soup, bitter greens with tomatoes the size of peas, rare roast beef slices as thin as paper, noodles in a green sauce, cheese that melts on your tongue served with sweet blue grapes, seafood scallion pancakes, sweet and spicy shrimp, pork belly and braised tofu. 

" Wow....." Jiwon's jaw dropped when she saw the table same as everyone else probably " Baby, aren't you the best? "she pinched Jin playfully and sat " Thank you as well Y/N, Sorry if you get tired because of us.."

" No It's really okay, I love cooking..." You smiled and sat between Taehyung and Jimin, Jungkook in the far end with Yuju, you could feel his gaze at you but you didn't want to look at him 

The guys start joking and telling funny story from the time they were young, you were laughing with them sometimes and avoiding Yuju and Jungkook's gaze the other times. 

You really hate this. 

" Jungkook ah, here have some noodles." Jin tried to passed the noodles to Jungkook before Yuju took the dish from him and she laughed.

" Jungkook doesn't like noodles in green sauce, remember? " She looked at him and smiled 

"But he liked the one Y/N made last time that's why I asked her to make it especially for him. " Jin said and looked at Jungkook and laughed.

" Ahhhhh True." Jimin laughed " You even went and order it from the restaurant but didn't like it the way you loved Y/N's.... You were so cute whining about that."

You looked at Jungkook who ignored his Hyung and ate silently but enough for you to notice the redness that start to appear in his cheeks.

He liked my noodles?

Though you were mad and uncomfortable with him, your eyes softened and a small smile was formed in your lips. 

" Yuju, Give it to him please." Jin said before passing the water to Yoongi.

You noticed the annoyed expression in Yuju's face when she put the dish in front of him, You saw the stare she was giving him before her eyes locked with yours. You looked away immediately and focused on you food.  

Yuju felt a stab of jealousy but shoved it down brutally.
