Radhika's pov

I did not expect my first day to be like this. I sat and watched people work. People were so busy working to even notice a new person in the office. I asked Anya if she needs any help or if there was anything for me to do but she politely decline asking me to wait for the boss's instructions.

I just meant to close my eyes for a little shut eye but I didn't realize when that shut eye turned into completely falling in sleep and dreaming. I didn't know anybody would realize since everybody seemed pretty busy but I was wrong when I felt a hand on my shoulder shaking me vigorously.

"Are you here to work or sleep?" I heard someone yell. It felt familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. I opened my eyes reluctantly and was faced my Rishabh's raging expressions. I immediately stood up but I could see how the damage was already done. I was embarrassed beyond my imagination. It was horrifying how my first day is turning out. 

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I um.. I was waiting for your instructions when I drifted a little. I'm incredibly sorry." I tried to defuse the situation as much as I could. 

"You're not here for sleeping. If I didn't tell you, you could've asked someone else. You could've asked Anya. This is my workspace, not your home. I expect a certain kind of behavior."

I was furious and irritated. I didn't mean to fall asleep, I was just bored. He had the nerve to question my ability to work when he hasn't even given me any work.

"You can't judge my ability to work if you don't give me work. I've been waiting for your instructions since morning. I can't ask for anybody else because you're my boss, I work for you and not them" As soon as those words left my mouth, his frown returned. I knew I was gonna regret it but I was getting agitated, I had to say something.

"My cabin. Now!" He practically yelled and walked away. I followed him quietly regretting everything I just did. I was mentally preparing myself of the consequences for my wonderful behaviour. I career is over before it could actually begin.

"You think you're the right person to teach me about responsibilities?" He yelled at me as soon as we stepped into his office. "You don't get to talk to me like that. Never ever. You were right, you're my employee not my boss. I'm not going to tolerate this kind of disrespect. Am I clear?" I just nodded afraid to speak again.

He returned to his seat and started looking for something. He finally found what he was looking for. It was my file that I have him in the morning. He opened and started reading it again. 

"I was in the same school!" He said looking up and examining me to find resemblance if he knew me back in the day.

"Yes I know" I replied, not speaking too many words or saying too much of unnecessary things.  He didn't ask how, I didn't tell him.

"Okay " He said " As you are new here and you need to learn alot of things you will be assisting me with all recent cases" he continued.

"Okay Mr. Jaisingh" I replied

"Just call me Rishabh" He said and I nodded.

He gave me a file and I took it instantly. I was excited to work and I didn't want to give him a chance to complain.

"These are new clients. They want their companies merged but everything is not finalize. We're in the process of examining if we want to take up this project. They're big businessmen with risky business. You can study the file and brief yourself as much as you can until the next meeting."

I listened carefully and nodded. "Thank you" I stared leaving when he called out my name.

"Don't fall asleep" his face showed no emotion which made it difficult to know whether he was joking or being literal. Trying not to upset him in any capacity, I left quietly.
