"I'll be here with you. Every step of the way." You ensured as Optimus nodded before looking at Cade for the nod of approval.

Cade slowly stepped forward to examine Optimus. "How long?" Prime asked you softly as you took in a deep a breath. "It's been five years...five years..." You whispered softly as you looked up at him.

After a small moment of silence that hung between you two, Cade had managed to take notes. "There's a lot that needs fixing but I can do it." Cade formed as Optimus looked at you once more.

"It's okay, you can trust them. It'll be okay." You ensured as Cade forced a smile. "Okay. Lukas come with me, I need you to get supplies." Cade informed as you watched them leave the barn.

"I'll be right back." You ensured as you rested a shaking hand against Prime's cheek structure of his faceplate before chasing after the two men.

"I need you to go to the hardware store and you get the list. The while list." Cade informed as he shoved the list at Lucas's chest.

"What you're going to try and fix him? He's not a model train set, Cade." Lucas spat at as you clenched your jaw while glaring daggers at Lucas. I wish Optimus smacked him harder...

"No, that's right he's important." Cade fired back as the imbecile rolled his eyes as he leaned against the open car door of his black mini.

"Important to who? You can't keep an alien locked up in your barn. What are you going to do, play with him?" Lucas challenged as your eyes widened by his sudden comeback.

"He's important to me!" You spat as they both looked at you. "He's all I got left, he's the love of my damn life! So you get what Cade is asking for!" You snarled as you felt tears form in your eyes.

"Oh really? 'Cause alien have feelings?!" He fired back as your eyes widened before snarling; trying to reach over to grab hold of him but Cade held you back.

"Will you calm down?" Cade spat at Lucas as Cade pulled you right to his side.

"I'm trying to, but I just got hit in the head with a ten-foot cannon!" Lucas hissed as he yanked opened the door of his car.

"If he eats you, I get the GTO." He added on as he got into his car and started it up. "Not a word to anybody. Do you hear me? Not a signal word. Nobody." Cade declared as Lucas nodded.

You worked down a swallow as you and Cade watched him drive off. "You okay?" Cade asked as you forced a nod, feeling your stomach grow into knots.

"He didn't mean all that crap. You know how he is." Cade ensured as you forced another nod. "Okay, so should we get to work?"

Cade smiled, nodding in reply before you and him went back into the barn where Optimus was waiting for the both of you.

~Later~

"Took a hell of a bit, you know. The missile just missed your power source." Cade informed as Optimus looked over at you as you climbed the ladder.

"We call it a spark." Optimus replied as he looked over at Cade before looking back at you. His Optimus blue optics filled with admiration for you. It made your heart flutter.

"It contains our life force and our memories." Optimus added on; looking back over at Cade just as he got on the platform and smiled at him. "Yeah, we call it a soul."

"Cade," Optimus began as he picked at a bullet that was pierced into his metal platting and picked it out with two of his digits and flicked it across the room.

"Why are you willing to help me and (Y/n)?" Optimus asked as you grabbed the flint starter and the flame torch for Cade.

"I guess maybe you trust me to." Cade replied as he started it up and you both began to work on his chest plate and fix his spark chamber.

~A little while later~

You and Cade had taken turns in fixing up your Sparkmate. You were beyond happy to see Prime back, and that he was getting a lot better thanks to you and Cade.

"You doing ok?" You asked Optimus as you studied his gaze as he only hummed in response. "I'm going to take a little break. I'll be right back." Cade said as he exited the barn.

You sighed as you looked up at Optimus. "I missed you a lot..." You barely managed out as he forced a sad smile. "I've missed you too...and I'm sorry."

"Sorry? For what?" You asked him as you reached out and touched his cheek. "For abandoning you...I should've tried harder to look for you." He explained as you felt your eyes water up.

"Oh Optimus..." you said softly as he gently scooped you up in his servo. "It's okay. Whatever happened between us wasn't your fault. Things just happen."

"I know that...but I-"

You cut him off as you pressed a soft kiss on his lips. "Let's not worry about that okay? It's in the past. Lets just focus on the present." You exclaimed as his gaze softened.

"Let's get your fixed up." You added on as you pressed another kiss on his cheek before he set you down. Just as he did so, Cade had returned back into the barn.

"How long is Lucas going to take?" You asked as Cade got suited up again to start working on Optimus once more.

"You know how he is. He'll be here soon." Cade replied as you nodded, taking in a deep breath as Cade started to work on Optimus's shoulder; reinforcing the metal platting.

As you both continued to fix the Autobot leader the best that you could you both raise your heads to hear a familiar engine from outside the barn doors.

"I'm back!" Lucas shouted out as Cade only shook his head. "About time..." You grumbled out as you went back to fixing dents and patching up holes in his body armour.

"Took you long enough!" Tessa fired back as you snorted out a laugh. "My head hurts. I had to go to the doctor! I got a welt on my head, that makes me look like a fricking Star Trek character."

"That should be good..." You said softly as you gently skimmed your fingers tips over Prime's chassis as he shivered slightly from your touch. You looked up at him and slightly giggled. "Did I miss something here?" Lucas asked as he entered the barn.

You rolled your eyes and looked over your shoulder to glare at him. "How's your head?" You asked as he glared at you.

"Fine..I got it checked out. All I need is some ice." He grumbled as you scoffed, turning back towards your Sparkmate.
Before you say anything to him, alertness was all you could see framed in his optics.

"Optimus? What's wrong?" You asked as you reached out to touch his metal cheek. "We need to go. We need to go now." Optimus said to you as your (e/c) eyes widened.

"Go? Go where?" You asked you felt unease and nauseous from how you could easily see the fear in his blue optics. You already knew something was very wrong.

"Someone is coming, we need to go." Optimus informed as he held you in one of his servos. "What? Where do you think you'll go?" Cade asked as Prime turned to look at him.

Before Optimus could reply we all hear was Tessa yelling from outside from the barn. "Dad!" She cried out from the front porch of the house.

Just outside was multiple black cars and SUV's driving into Cade's property. The same vehicles that had chased you and Optimus down years ago.

"Shit! It's Cemetery Wind!" You cried out as Cade turned to look at you both. "Both of you hide now!" Cade demanded your eyes widened. "What? Cade no! If they find us-"

"-they won't. Just go." Cade demanded as Cade rushed over to us and aided you in helping to cover up Optimus
with the floor boards and the green dusty tarp.

"Go in and hide with him." Cade hissed as you shot him a glare. "And who will defend you out there?" You challenged as you turned back to Optimus.

"Please be careful (Y/n)." Optimus said softly as you felt tears form in your eyes. "I promise. And I promise I won't let anything happen to you." You choked out, resting a hand on his cheek before both you and Cade stepped away and exited the barn.
