Mason's POV

"Can you ask Angel to meet me in my study, please? She's been acting off today." Lorenzo said, just as I was about to reach the door.

"Why? What happened?" I asked, in a panicked voice.

"I don't know. She's been too quiet and hasn't left her room once." Lorenzo said, with a worried look on his face.

"Okay. I'll tell her." I said, walking out.

I walked to her room, deep in thought.

"Amelia?" I called out, entering the room.

She wasn't this silent ever. Even when she was painting, she'd stay quiet, but would play music. Loud music.

"Amy?" I called again. She wasn't in her room. I checked her closet.

I knocked on the bathroom door. It was locked.

"Amelia?" I yelled, knocking furiously. Scenarios ran through my mind.

"Open the door." I yelled again. There was no response.

Without thinking for a second, I kicked at the door, two times. It almost came off its hinges. But that wasn't what gave me a heart attack.

It was the horrific situation before me.

Amelia sat on the floor, her head clutched in her hands, her nails digging into the skin and her hair almost pulled out.

She was murmuring something, most likely having an attack like she had before.

But there was also one thing. Her blood. Dripping from her left arm, a small puddle on the floor. Her arm red and her left hand red and swollen with purple-black bruises forming at some places.

I rushed over to her.

"Oh my God. Baby." I panicked, tears threatening to escape my eyes. This was the worst of my worst nightmares. This was something that shook me to the core and terrified me to no end.

I pulled her hands away from her head. Her eyes clenched shut and she kept saying whatever she was saying. I couldn't understand anything. She started cradling herself.

I picked her up and walked out. Her voice grew weaker with each passing moment.

"Hey. Don't sleep. Keep your eyes open. Take deep breaths. I'm here." I said, putting her down on the bed gently. Her eyes started closing again.

"Keep your eyes open, baby." I said, lightly patting her cheeks. "Don't sleep." I said, while calling Eliza.

"Eliza. Something's happened. Amy, she's bleeding and injured." I don't know how to explain, I was so shook.

Lucky for me and Amelia, Eliza panicked and hung up saying she's on her way.

"What happened?" Grayson asked, coming into the room. He panicked as soon as he saw the condition our sister was in. I kept patting Amelia's cheek.

"Don't sleep baby. Keep your eyes open for me." I said. She was still blubbering something, I couldn't comprehend.

"Comfort her, you idiot." Grayson grumbled, before taking the matter into his own hands. He was as panicked as I was.

"ROMAN." He yelled, out the door to call for the creature, who can comfort anyone with just his presence. But I was not waiting anymore. I picked her up and sat down with her on my lap.

"Shh.. Stop talking and take deep breaths." I muttered, stroking her hair, as she seemed to melt into the touch.

Slowly, she stopped talking and tried focussing her gaze on me, which was difficult as she struggled to keep her eyes open.

She put her head on my shoulder and wrapped her right arm around my back, while her left arm, hung down.

"Are you okay?" I asked, trying to talk to her, so she doesn't sleep.

"Yeah." She said, after a minute of silence. Till then, everyone was in the room.

Lorenzo looked like he wanted to just snatch her away and hold her in his arms.

I looked at Grayson who was tending to her arm, cleaning the blood.

Lorenzo sat beside me. Amelia looked at him, then looked down, her eyes filled with tears.

"What happened, angel?" He asked, softly. But she wasn't in the condition to answer him, her eyes were still drooping.

"Should we let her sleep?" I asked, not knowing if its the right thing.

"Don't know. Let Eliza come." Roman said, just as the door flew open and Eliza rushed in.

I stood up immediately and put an almost unconscious Amelia on the bed.

"Shit." Eliza cursed looking at the mess she made on her arm.

She checked the cuts and said,
"These are not deep. There will be no scars, thankfully."

"What?" Amelia said, in a somewhat disappointed tone, her eyes drooping.

"What?" Lorenzo repeated, his eyebrows furrowed.

Amelia didn't answer him, just started sobbing as tears started spilling from her eyes.

"What caused it? For fuck's sake, tell me." Jace yelled, finally losing it.

Exactly my question, what caused her to take such a step?

Why does she want to have scars, so desperately?

"Get out, Jace." Lorenzo gritted. "In fact, everyone leave this room."

Him and Amelia were having a staring contest, like having a conversation through their eyes.

We left unwillingly. I was envious of them sharing thoughts through their eyes.

But it's always been like that.

Every cousin looked up to their relationship and the bond Lorenzo and Amelia shared.

"Its him, right?" That's the last thing I heard and I immediately knew who he was talking about.

That bastard.

--------------

Lorenzo sat directly before me, staring at me with eyes that were dark and anger swirling in them.

Just seconds before I was struggling to keep my eyes open but now, I couldn't get myself to look away from Lorenzo.

When I didn't say anything, he said.

"So my guesses are right? You were affected by that bitch again." He gritted his teeth.

I didn't say anything. Again.

I heard him sigh and felt a hand on my cheek. Lorenzo caressed my cheek lovingly.

"You didn't have to take such a big step, baby. I'm not letting him even come near you. No need to damage your body." He said, softly.

"What you did was completely unacceptable and reckless. I will not allow you to have your daggers with you, or any weapon, in fact." He said, moving his hand forward, for me to give my daggers to him.

"What? No, Lorenzo. You can't do that. I'll not do it again. But I can't live without my things." I panicked.

How will I protect myself, if I'm not armed?

"Don't panic." He stroked my hair. "I can't trust you with sharp objects. You'll be safe because you're not leaving the house for a while either."

"What?" I gaped at him, jaw touching the floor.

How will I go to the place then?

He'll hurt my family.

I looked at Lorenzo to protest, only to find him, gathering my stuff. My gun and the whole collection of daggers.

He moved back towards me.
"I need to check if you have any strapped to your stomach."

Tears slipped my eyes.

How do I tell him?

I looked at Lorenzo, to find him staring at me. He looked hurt.

"I know its hurting you, baby. But I don't have another choice. You know its hard to stop, once you start harming yourself." He said, looking like he was in pain.

"May I?" He asked, pointing to the hem of my shirt. I was too shaky to get them out myself.

I nodded, shakily. My whole form trembling.

Lorenzo lifted my shirt, to reveal my daggers, strapped to my stomach, one of them missing, which he already picked up from the bathroom.

He removed each one and put them along with my other weapons on my bedside table.

Before I knew, I was wrapped in a comforting hug.
"Just some days. Till I am sure, you're not stressing out too much." He muttered, rubbing my back. I just kept crying silently.

I wouldn't be here in 'some days'.

I don't know when I drifted off, it was so warm and soothing. I was in my brother's arms. I just wanted to enjoy it as long as I could.

"Her hand still needs to be tended. Can you send Eliza in?"

That's the last thing I heard.

"I love you teddy." I whispered. I don't know if he heard it or not.

Next day.

I woke up, feeling like throwing up. I don't know what to do.

If I don't go, he will harm my brothers. I know my brothers are strong, but he will attack without warning.

If I go, it will be like walking to my death. I will die before giving in to his wicked ways.

I kept staring at the ceiling for a long time.

I will go. And that's final. No more doubts or questions.

Because that's the safest option. For my brothers, at least.

"Are you up, honey?" I heard Roman say.

"Yeah." I said, lifting my head to see him standing there, with a tray in his hands. He smiled at me sadly, before helping me get up and putting the tray of food before me.

"You scared me yesterday." He said, softly, before kissing my forehead and sitting down.

I stayed silent and stared at my arm, wrapped in bandage.

"Here." Roman said, pushing a spoonful of the food towards me. I let him feed me, silently. Not that I mind. Roman is the most loving and the sweetest brother.

"I want to go to school today." I said. His expressions changed to worry.

"You can't, honey. You're injured." He said, not maintaining eye contact.

"I can handle it."

"We still can't let you go outside. After yesterday's events, its obvious you are not in the state to go out and be alone on your own. You need to tell us, if there's something, honey." Roman said, almost begging at the end.

They couldn't track my phone. It had a special protection, that I put myself, so no one could hack it or invade my privacy. Thanks to Daniel, he helped me with it.

"Its nothing, Roman. I'm just paranoid." I mumbled, gulping down the orange juice.

"I don't believe that. That is why you're not going out." He sighed.

I want to meet Ashton.

"I want to meet Ashton." I voiced my wish.

He nodded, instantly, without giving it a second thought.

"I'll call him here." He said, getting up and walking out. Just as he was about to open the door, Ashton barged in.

Woah! Talk about sixth sense.

"What happened to my little monkey?" He said, coming forward to engulf me in a hug.

"I love you, Ashton." That's all I had to say.

"What?" He said, pulling away and looking at me in shock.

Had I not said that before?

He looked at me shocked, before gaining his composure.

I've said that before, as far as I remember.

"I love you too." He said, kissing my hand, pretending to be a gentleman.

We sat in silence for a while. I just wanted his presence there.

God! Sounds like I'm dying.

"Does it hurt now?" He asked, softly.

"No." I said, looking into his eyes.

"I'm gonna kill that bitch." He said.
I clenched my jaw.

"You're gonna turn seventeen soon, right?" I asked, suddenly remembering and smoothly changing the topic.

"Yeah." He said, I chuckled.

"Ha Ha. Old man. I'm still fifteen." I said, sticking my tongue out.

"And you're gonna turn sixteen super soon. Don't brag." He said, smirking at me.

"Till then, I can enjoy teasing you. Oldie." I said, chuckling wickedly at the end.

"Shut up, little monkey." He said, rolling his eyes. I didn't say anything, just pressed my lips to his as he wrapped his arms around me, still careful of my arm.

After a long long time, I heard someone clear their throat and pushed Ashton away, who was still reluctant to let go.

Fucking bitch! Doesn't love his life.

I turned to see Damon standing at the door, glaring dangerously. I gulped and shifted. I looked down, afraid to meet his angry glare.

"Get off the bed, Ashton." He ordered as I heard Ashton get off. Damon moved forward to engulf me in a hug.

"You love breaking the rules, don't you?" He said, chuckling a little.

I just laughed nervously and hugged him tight.

"Don't do that ever again. You scared me, baby." He said, pulling away.

After a long time of talking and him scolding us a little about being too young to do that, they left, leaving me alone again.
