"Ryan Brown." He said. I just kept silent as I didn't have anything to say with my mind busy trying to believe the huge amount of information I got today.

"You were closer to your real family than you thought you were." He whispered. He smirked at my obvious confusion.

Does that mean I've been near them? I don't reckon meeting my biological parents.

I was actually feeling dizzy now. I felt my hands shaking. I clenched and unclenched my jaw a few times and took deep breaths.

"I don't know how a worthless bitch like you can think they can have anything good for them. Where'd you find out the truth anyway?"

Before I could burst, I heard the front door slam open. I heard footsteps as my gaze shifted to the door.

About half a minute later, two guys were standing in the room and guess what? They had blue eyes!!!

And what else? The headache started as soon as I saw them. It was even fainter now.
Wow.

The first one to enter who looked like he always had anger sitting on his nose, staggered back a little at the situation before him. Couldn't blame him. He stood there taking in the scene before calling out to whoever was behind him.

"Hey!! Move faster. There's something really interesting going on here." He said to the second man who entered behind him, just two seconds later.

And guess who it was?

Freaking Mason Costello.

I avoided looking at them both in the eye as I felt a faint pain in my head. It was not as severe as when I first met Mason. I really think I'm getting used to it.

"What Jace?" He stopped in his tracks and staggered back.

"What the hell is happening here?" Mason said glancing at the unconscious woman on the floor then at the man held at gunpoint, then at me.

As soon as his gaze landed on me, his eyebrows furrowed. He seemed genuinely confused.

Again, can't blame him. He saw me in Blonde hair and green eyes back at the base. Now I have red hair and green contacts.

They both took a seat and made themselves comfortable as they watched my every move.

"Do we have someone- WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?" The sweet voice of Aunt Bianca changed into a screeching tone as she took in the whole situation.

I put my index finger on my lips to shush her as she looked a little scared but relieved, probably because it was me who held them at gunpoint and not the other way around.

Ignoring the two guys, because one, they can kill me in a blink if I try to kick them out and two, if I'm leaving forever, might as well get everything done now.

"Aunt Bianca, can you please ask someone to bring the box in the basement locker? And the trunk too, the one in the corner." I said, as politely as I could, but a shiver ran through my spine at my own cold tone.

She nodded looking at me wide eyed. Again, can't blame her, she has always seen the sweet and polite girl my parents wanted me to be.

"No! Don't bring it here." Chris said. His eyes flicked from me to Mason costello and who I think is his brother.

"Why?" I asked, giving him a suspicious look.

Third POV

Chris knew these men were related to her. He guessed by their features. They actually looked alike. One look at them and Ava and he could tell they were related. That means she was related to the mafia.

Chris didn't know anything about her past and family. The couple only got her, her belongings, a story about her real family abandoning her, to cover up if she got to know about the truth of them not being her parents and the job to raise her into a perfect woman, who will stay at home and do chores for her entire life.

He was cursing himself for setting up a deal with the Costellos and he was a complete fool to betray them.

Chris and maria sold drugs and weapons. They had to supply weapons to them. They already got the money but didn't arrange the weapons. That was why Grayson had come to threaten them.

But they really are complete fools. They knew it was hard to recognize Ava, now that she was so grown up and hid the features she had in common with them- her hair and eyes. That's why they sent her with Grayson as a bait. Its not like they could stop him.

To get her back, before her identity was revealed, they had sent fake weapons. What they didn't expect was for them to find out this soon. That was what chris was regretting now.

Surrounded by these blue eyed, brown haired dangerous people, he was racking his brain to think of a way out of this.

If they found out, she was related to them, if she was, they'll take her with them.

That's a loss of 100 million dollars. That's what they were gonna get when she turned 18, from her buyer, Ryan brown.

Mason and Jace Costello watched with amusement how Ava was dealing with her father.

Mason recognized her from the base. He was just stressing on his mind to remember if her hair were really red. He was sure, they were blonde before.

"Do whatever you want, but don't reveal yourself." Chris muttered, making sure the two men didn't hearย  as Ava glared at him, already planning his murder.

Ava's POV

How dare him.

Aunt Bianca came back with the box. She put it before him on the floor.

"This is where I found out. This box is mocking me, how I'm such a pushover to believe you after everything you've done to me, how my own family didn't accept me. YOU made ME lose my identity." I said, anger rising with each word as he flinched a little when I pointed to him while saying you.

"And then YOU have the audacity to tell ME to stay hidden and not to reveal my identity, even while I know the truth. You shameless excuse of a man." I spat as he started glaring a little, looking scared too.

"You said do not reveal yourself. Fine." I gritted. He looked hopeful and glad. I smirked.

Just then, another voice boomed through the room.

"What are you two doing here?" He asked. I turned around as I had my back to the door to see the same man I met in school. He was looking directly at Mason and the other guy.

What the fuck is happening?

I looked at the ceiling and started complaining as to why god is practically throwing these blue eyes men in my life, at the same time.

"Told you, we were going to deal with the weapon supplier." Mason said.

"Bitch sent fake ones." The other guy, whose name I got to know was Jace, gritted.

"What are you doing here, Roman? Weren't you supposed to go check on her?" Mason asked.

"I was going to her house to check if she was really the one or not. This is her house and that is her." He said as his gaze finally snapped towards me. I could feel three pairs of eyes staring at me.

His gaze landed on my hand and he raised his eyebrows.

"WHAT?" He yelled. He looked as if he could kill and turned his furious gaze to the guys.

"You compelled her to do this. How cruel can you both be? You find it amusing to force a little girl to hold her parents at gunpoint?" He asked furiously, looking like he was ready to strangle them. I rolled my eyes.

Little girl?

I fought the urge to laugh.

"We didn't compel her to do anything. We walked in on the same situation as you see now." Mason said waving his hand around, indicating towards the unconscious lady on the floor.

"Can you all just get out? You're invading our privacy. This is a family matter and you shouldn't even be here, whether mafia or not."

"Okay sweetie, give me that. Kids shouldn't be playing with that." Roman said putting his hand forward and talking to me like I was a small child.

I rolled my eyes.
"Don't call me that and I'm not a kid." I growled, glaring at him.

"Did I mention she's friends with one of the best assassins?" Mason said. "She was in the gang we took down, but had blonde hair, as far as I remember." He said as his eyebrows furrowed while Jace's raised in surprise.

"And her eyes, I swear they were brown back when I met her in school and hair were red as they are now." Roman said looking at me cautiously, probably remembering my previous outburst.

"Are you sure she was the one you met in school?" Mason asked, looking emotional.

"Does that mean her hair and eyes change colour, like those RGB lights Gray has?" Jace asked.

"Stop being an idiot." Mason said, smacking him across the head.

I just stood there looking at the three of them talking about me like I wasn't even there.

"I don't care if she plays with that everyday. I won't let a little girl, especially you, anywhere near that, as long as I'm here." Roman said turning to me again. "You are like a sister to me, so please listen to your brother."

"ROMAN!!" Jace yelled.

"You can't just call anyone your sister, stop it." He said angrily while Mason nodded, a frown etched on his face.

"Can you take your family matters home where I hope no one's sticking their nose in as you are doing with ours right now?" I said angrily. They just stared at me with a bored expression.

Wow!! I think my face is broken. Everyone was scared of my cold and angry expressions.

"You know what? I'm leaving. Here's your culprit. Do whatever you want with him." I said pointing towards Chris, who stayed silent during the whole conversation and tried his hardest not to get noticed. I started moving towards the door. I expected Chris to be angry but he looked relieved.

I stopped in my tracks as it hit me. I walked back towards him, feeling everyone's eyes on me.

"About not revealing myself." I said as I removed my contacts and heard a gasp. I threw them on the ground, looking at Chris dead in the eye and rubbed my shoe over them. I pulled the fake red hair off and threw it at his face.

"I start from here. I'm not going go hide anymore. You won't see the real Ava. Ever. Do me a favour and send those back to my so-called parents." I spat, pointing to the box having the clothes and tried to walk out.

"Amelia?" Someone said.

"Huh?" I said turning around to find Roman right before me, I took a step back.

"What's your name?" He asked, looking hopeful and worried at the same time.

"Ava Winston." I said, pausing before saying Winston.

"Where did you get these?" Mason said, sounding broken. I peeked around Roman to see him and Jace looking into the box.

"The basement, duh." I said, then turned around to walk out again.

"Oh no, you aren't going anywhere." Roman said grabbing my upper arm and pulling me to the couch.

"Let me go." I gritted, struggling to get out of his grasp. He pulled me to the couch and made me sit down. Jace and Mason sat on both sides holding me.

Roman called someone. He kept glancing at me to make sure, I was there. I saw men dressed in black, take Chris and an unconscious Maria out.

"Can you come here? I'm texting you the address." He said hanging up and typing with his shaking hands.

"Don't touch me." I said struggling in their grasp.

I don't like being touched. Not because something happened, but because Chris and Maria taught me that no one should touch me, it just makes me dirtier.

Daniel always whined about not being able to hug me to death.

They probably sensed my discomfort as they retreated their hands, still keeping an eye on me.

"Don't kill them." I said to Roman who just looked at me and nodded.

Judging by the look on his face, he probably thought I still saw them as parents. That was far from what I was thinking. I wanted to torture them emotionally like they did to me. Make them so numb, they feel nothing but emptiness.

About ten minutes later, the sound of aย  car pulling up and the door opening was heard. Heavy footsteps approached the room. I waited for whoever it was.

The door to the living room opened as a tall man entered the room.

Hey guys. Hope you liked the chapter.

I know y'all liked 'The Missing Piece'. It is chaotic and funny, I admit. But that doesn't mean all of my works will be like that.

This story is not as chaotic. I made it to be a bit more serious than the other story. Just a little bit. But it has a nice plot, in my opinion.(I'm not bragging ๐Ÿ˜…).
It can't be compared to 'The Missing Piece'.

Thanks for reading this book. I hope you like it and stay till the end.

Stay safe and happy.
