I didn't know I was just staring at the wall, my paint brush in my hand as I was lost in memories.

I looked out to see the moon shining outside, lighting up my room a little.

Getting up, I washed my hands and headed straight to bed. I tied my leg to the bed and laid down.

No matter how much I try to hate him or Ashton. Something inside me is not letting me do so. I still wish I could meet them again. Just to ask what was that I did wrong, what I did that they left me. Was I really a burden to them?

I drifted off, feeling a heavy weight on my chest.

"Amelia. Wake up." I heard someone say. I opened my eyes slowly and rubbed them.

"Stop doing that." Mason said tapping my hand.

"What do you want?" I asked in a rough voice.

"Your maid sent a parcel for you." He said. I shot up, untied my leg under the covers and practically ran to the door.

I reached the main door where a box was placed. I picked up the box and ran back to my room.

I knew it was the box having my toys. I opened the box and picked up the paper laying on top.

Hey.
I collected these toys over the years. Just remember, these kept you company when you had no friends.
Have fun.
I hope you get along well with your new family.

I put the paper aside and sat on the floor, picking a toy and cleaning it, then putting it aside on the floor.

The sun was shining bright, the warmth soothing me.

I kept cleaning until I looked at this toy in my hand. I immediately put it down and retreated my hand.

It was that plane. The plane he threw at my window.

Why the fuck did you have to keep it too?

I picked it up with shaky hands and rubbed my thumb over it.

I really miss you.

My jaw clenched as I felt a little angry too. No matter how much I loved them, they were still the the reason I felt numb.

I heard a breaking sound. I looked at my hand, clutching the toy tightly, which was broken before. Now, it split into half as the screws fell to the ground.

I put it on the ground. Looking closely, I saw a piece of paper chucked into it. I opened it and unfolded it.

"Hey Ava.
I'm so sorry for what I've done but we have to leave. This was the only way to reach you. You don't have a phone. We are really sorry, baby. I'm so sorry, I had to do that. I didn't want to leave. We were threatened.

Your father saw you yesterday. He has some connections with dangerous people who threatened to hurt you if we didn't get out of your life. But don't worry its not permanent. I'm not going to leave you with them forever.

I'll probably do something that you won't understand and probably won't like, to be more powerful to deal with these people helping your parents. I'll try to get your custody as soon as I can. Just wait patiently. I'll come get you someday. I'll keep trying until you escape that hellhole or better those bitches die. I know they are your parents but I hate their guts for what they put you through.

I'm putting my phone number and new address so you can contact me. I'll make sure these don't change until I have you. Don't risk calling us. I don't want you to get caught using a phone.

Just remember big bro loves you and is trying his hardest to get your custody. Just stay safe and don't worry I'll have you with me. Just have patience. Miss you already.
Love,
Big bro and ugly monkey.

There was a phone number and an address on the paper.
My hands shook as I stared at the dusty paper.

This can't be happening.

I was feeling so happy, I was practically bouncing. Happiness felt strange, but that's what makes it more enjoyable. Only one thing was repeating in my mind.

He doesn't hate me.

I got up and put the paper in a book. Bouncing out of the room, I made my way to the stairs.

I started descending the stairs, skipping two steps on the way.

"If you fall down and cry, I'm not gonna pick you up." An annoying voice said, from behind me.

"I won't fall. But beware I may punch the most annoying person I've ever met." I retorted making Jace glare at me.

"What made you come out of your room now?" He asked.

"Nothing. I'm just in the mood to come out today."

That's a lie. I'm gonna eat breakfast so they think I've eaten something and skip the 'persuading me to eat' part. I'll have enough time to sneak out.

Jace scoffed and shook his head.

"I personally want you to lose the front teeth. You'll look beautiful." He laughed at his own pathetic joke. The walls shook due to the laughter of his heavy voice.

I skipped downstairs and entered the kitchen, only to find all eyes on me. I stared at them, emotionlessly and sat down on my seat as soon as their gazes diverted.

"Good morning, Honey." Roman said, a wide smile on his face.

Its hard to resist a greeting from this creature who showers love wherever he goes.

"Morning." I muttered.

Lorenzo was staring at me intensely, trying to study me and get a hint about what was going on.
Its not that easy to break my impassive exterior.

He pushed a box towards me. I just stared at it and furrowed my eyebrows.

"You don't have a phone." He stated. "As a teenager, you have a right to have one."

I stared at him with my jaw hanging.

Is this guy for real?

"I don't need anything from you." I shoved it back towards him.

"But you're still having it. As your guardian, I can ask you to do something and you have to obey me." He said sternly, but I'm too stubborn for my own good.

"You're not my guardian." I gritted then added. "Yet."

"Oh honey, you are lagging behind time." He said with an amused look on his face. "I'm already your guardian."

I just gaped at him as he threw a berry in my mouth. Slowing chewing the berry, I stared at him, then at the phone.

I could use it then leave it here, when I finally run away. That'd be good.

"You never had a phone?" Jace asked. I nodded in response.

"So you don't know how to use it?" Grayson asked. I shook my head this time.

"Daniel taught me." I replied. Mason scrunched up his face.

"I don't like that fool." He said making me glare at him.

"You don't get to say anything about him." I pointed my fork at Mason and glared.

"Who's Daniel?" Roman asked glaring at me.

"The assassin she's friends with." Mason said as Lorenzo's sharp gaze turned to me boring holes in my head. By now, everyone was giving me the shocked look.

"He's not my friend." I gritted.

"Why are you defending him, then?" Mason chuckled. "That before your brothers?"

"You're not my brothers. As I said, you don't have any proof. You kidnapped me, nothing else." I gritted and just like that the amusing looks vanished from their faces and the atmosphere was glum again.

That was a lie. I do believe they're my brothers, but I don't want them to get the idea that I'm going to treat them like family.

"And what are you giving me that look for? You can be in the mafia and employ assassins and I can't even have one as an.." I paused. "Acquaintance?"

"Fair enough." Roman muttered.

I ate the breakfast, more like shoved it inside and got up. I was practically running to my room with the box clutched in my hand.

After throwing up, I pulled out the paper from the book and switched on the phone.

I have to call first and know if its really him or not?

What if he changed? I was eleven at the time he left and he was twenty one.

After three rings, someone picked up.

"Hello?" The heavy voice sounded. I could feel the pain in my heart as Iย  listened to his voice after so long.

I stayed silent. He hung up after a while.

That's it. I'm sneaking out.

Grabbing the blonde hair and brown contacts, I put them on.I grabbed a hoodie and pulled my hair out to hide my face more.

I've been thinking about the ways of escaping the past few days. My balcony gives the whole view of the lawn and the walls surrounding the mansion.

I pulled out the paper Daniel gave me and called him.

"What?" He said grumpily in his deep voice that was even deeper now.

This motherducker sleeps through the day.

Bloody owl.

"Wake up. Enough of your beauty sleep." I said. I heard a thud.

"Ava, is that you? You finally called? You have a phone? What happened? Oh god. You sound deadlier than last time." He rambled.

"Can you pick me up? I need to go somewhere really urgent." I said, ignoring the questions and the complement he oh-so nicely showered on me.

"What? Its like 11.30." He whined.

"In the morning, may I add." I gritted. "Judging by your tone, I guess you don't want to meet me." I said, finally blackmailing him, knowing its gonna work.

"Hey! I do want to meet you. Stop saying that. I'm already ready and on my way." He said. I heard a car door slam shut and the engine start.

I waited for a moment, awaiting the question.

"But where should I pick you up?" He asked. I could only imagine him rubbing the back of his neck.

Was he born idiot or he just acts like one?

"Idiot." I muttered before telling him my address. Hanging up, I went to stand in my balcony.

Climbing down the pipe, I jumped landing on all fours on the ground.

Hiding my face with my hair and the hood, I creeped towards the bushy corner where I'm gonna climb the wall and jump on the other side.

Clapping my hands to get rid of the dust, I looked around to spot Daniel somewhere.

And there he was pulling up before me.

"Aww bestie, its been so long." He said moving forward to hug me but stopping midway when he realized.

He slumped in his seat and started driving after I gave him the address.

"Why are you going there? Is there a problem? I'm coming with you. You're not going alone inside." He ordered.

"No you're not. You are just dropping me." I stated firmly.

Knowing how stubborn I am, he settled with "I'm going to wait outside."

He parked in an alleyway.

"We're at the back. Its a huge mansion. I don't know how tight there security is. So be safe." He said, I nodded in response.

"Wait!! Why is your eye colour changed? It wasn't brown as far as I remember." He pointed out, just noticing.

"I'll explain later." I said, getting out of the car quickly. "You should go. It'll take long."

"No." He said firmly. I sighed and shook my head.

I took a step back and ran towards the wall. Climbing the wall, I sat on the top. There was a tree before me which hid me well.

"That's not the right way to climb a wall." I heard Daniel shout.

"Eff you mothereffer." I yelled, knowing he was trying to distract me. He always does this. I don't know why he finds it funny.

He laughed as I climbed down into the bushes.

I kept creeping along the wall trying to get close to the mansion and study the security. There was a porch outside.

I waited for the guards there to turn their back or move away, then sneaked quietly towards the double sliding doors. I opened the doors and quickly got in, taking cover immediately.

I know they have cameras, but it's good if he sees me. Makes it easier, unless they shoot on sight. He'll have to meet my ghost then.

I heard footsteps but laid still behind the kitchen counter.
