Tears edged the eyes of most of the players of Shiratorizawa's volleyball team as they suffered a close call defeat.

Every soul was appalled by Karasuno's victory against the team that was deemed unstoppable.

Shiratorizawa's players lined up before their side of the stands where their supporters stood.

They bowed and spoke in unison, "Thank you for your support!"

All eyes lifted up when they started clapping and cheering for the defeated boys who tried their hardest to make it.

It was then they saw their manager who walked up to the front row of the stands. She had taken off her hat and glasses with tears running down her face.

Despite the clear sadness in her eyes, Y/n smiled whilst clapping for them.

They all waved at her and then raised their first towards her. No one really expected her to show up, mainly because she wasn't supposed to.

Y/n mouthed the words, 'Meet me at school.'

Obviously some didn't understand but the ones who did, like Tendou and Reon, informed the rest of what the female had said.

Wakatoshi was the most silent. He said nothing, he did nothing, he showed no expression what so ever.

The male was more of a statue that only walked. Reon and Tendou patted the male's back as they walked towards the bus.

Despite the tiredness they all felt, on the ride back; they all were wide awake. Washijo said nothing as well, normally he would left them run back to school as penalty but no one knew why he didn't make them do so.

Their coach dismissed them and went towards the gym for whatever reason. Some left before the girl could arrive because they had to go home at that instant; expect for Wakatoshi who just bustled his own way out without a word

The ones who remained were Goshiki, Reon, Semi, Tendou, Yamagata, Kawanishi and Shirabu.

They all saw her in distance approaching their figures. She held her nebulizer to her face but withdrew it once she was close enough.

Shirabu and Yamagata could have burst into tears upon the mere sight of her becuase they saw her as another person they let down; an important person at that. The female hugged the two, the pair finally letting it all out on her shoulder.

It broke her heart dearly; so much so she almost cried herself. She did her best to raise their dread spirits.

The only one showed no signs of sadness was Tendou; Y/n knew it was because he didn't plan on taking volleyball seriously.

With a few words to Reon and Semi, she hugged them both and decided on walking home with the red head by her side.

"I've always wanted Shiratorizawa to lose just once to keep them grounded." The female spoke, her head facing down as she kept her gaze at her feet dragging along the pavement, "but I can't stand seeing them like this."

"You worry too much, Y/n-chan." Tendou responded, "They're big boys, they'll be fine."

Her head lifted up at his words, her gaze now on the chirpy male, "You think so, Satori?"

The male in mention nodded enthusiastically which made her smile. They conversed more on diverse topics; more specifically, the future.

They had finish their final exams as third years and all was left to await the results. It was a nerve wracking thing to look forward to; to know that every day that past is a possibility of getting that slip of paper that shows their hard work.

The hours they spent studying, the late nights, the time spent writing down notes, the classes they endured.

After the distribution of results, the third years would be graduating.

After a few seconds of silence, Y/n bit her tongue in trying to not ask the question she wanted to for a long while.

It would have made the atmosphere tense and a bit sad but it was too much for her to hold back.

"I know that you know about my condition, Satori." The words made the male stiffen, she watched as he pressed his lips into a thin line, "Why haven't you said anything?"

Tendou sighed and slouched his shoulders over in defeat, "I don't want to think about it, Y/n-chan; because if I do, I won't stop. I just want to be in the moment with you."

Y/n said nothing, there was nothing for her to say in the moment so, she just slung an arm around the male's slouched figure and changed the topic to one that would sure lift Satori's spirits.

When they approached the female's doorstep, she hugged the male before parting and wishing him a safe trip home.

Tendou waved her goodbye vigorously like a enthusiastic child as she stepped foot into her house.

Y/n was greeted with the sight of her grandfather sitting at the dinning table reading the daily papers.

The old man usually purchases it in the morning but since he had no time, he made sure to get the newspapers on his way home in the afternoon.

"Sofu-chan." She greeted the male. With a slight thud, Washijo dropped the papers that was in his fragile little hands.

"Hey kid." The male responded, leaning back into the wooden chair that creaked when he did. The female headed to fridge to get a bottle of water.

"I'm glad you weren't harsh on them today." It was Russian roulette when she said those words, she'd either receive a scolding if Washijo deemed her words as disrespect or a normal conversation; the latter being least likely.

Her grandfather sighed and paused for a second, most likely carefully choosing his words, "They know where and why they went wrong. The boys don't need me to say thing."

It was true. The pure looks on their faces indicated that they knew. Y/n could have seen it clearly on their faces.

What worried her was the disappearance of the olive haired male. He couldn't possible be that upset; well, no one really knew because it's Wakatoshi. No one knows what he's thinking.

As she headed up the stairs, her grandfather's voice stopped her, "I'm going to the college camp later so I'll be home late!"

Y/n nodded her head in understanding and assured the old man that she would be fine alone.

She had messaged Ushijima, asking if he was okay but after no response, the girl just flung her phone onto the bed, not even sparing the device a glance

After spending some time in her room, she had seen that three hours had past so she sauntered her way down the stairs and surely her grandfather was already gone.

As in neared into the night, rain mercilessly poured onto the land without stopping. Thunder crackled, roaring right outside and lightning flashed,

She opened the freezer and pulled out the tub of ice cream. The female didn't bother for bowl so she just took a spoon.

She was only a ten minutes into a movie in the living room when pounding was heard on the door.

Honestly, she thought it was her grandfather who forgot his house keys again; he wasn't getting any younger so she was used to it.

Exactly why she didn't find a need to change her clothes into something that would make her look less homeless.

With the tub still in Y/n's hand, she yanked the door open. The girl was about to start telling him about putting a spare key outside so he can get in but when her eyes spotted the figure in front of her; her heart almost stopped.

"Wakatoshi?"

The male stood soaking wet on her doorstep, his intimidating but beautiful eyes now red and dull.

"Wha- Did you really take a walk in the rain, idiot?" Y/n grabbed the male by his arm and pulled him inside, locking the door again.

She went to the cabinet filled with curtains, kitchen towels and bathing towels. She took one of the bathing towels and wrapped it around the male's larger figure.

Ushijima just stood there, holding the towel around him, "Shiratorizawa."

The one word sentence caused her brow to raise in confusion.

"If Oikawa and I were in each others current school; Shiratorizawa would win." He elaborated then he blinked at her when he read more into her expression, "Isn't that it?"

The girl slightly chuckled while shaking her head at the male, "The truth is I don't know and honestly, that doesn't matter."

Ushijima titled his head in clear confusion and raised his brows as a silent attempt to prompt her into explain more.

"What is important isn't the background of a team; whether it's unstoppable or not. What important is the team itself" She started, pausing to think about her following words, " Why do you think Karasuno won today? They won because they now have a complete team since those first years joined; something they never had."

"They might be a bit rusty now but they need to get accustomed to each other. Hinata hits the ball that their ace can't or their libero saves the ball that the lanky blonde dude can't fully block." Y/n neared closer and poked his chest with a stern finger, "Just like how Ohira and Tomu hits the ball when you're cornered or how Satori saves the ball when Yamagata can't."

"You can be the best, Wakatoshi but there are six players on the court for a reason and they all bring out the best in each other." The female sighed and grabbed a hold of his hand before he can utter a word, "Come on, take a shower and I'll put your clothes to dry."

Thankfully the male's clothes were dry before he stepped out of the shower so she left it right beside the bathroom door.

The girl watched the movie she was previously watching, eating her ice cream as well but with the thunder clashing ever so often, the sound of the TV was too soft.

Y/n groaned and switched it off, throwing the remote on the other side of the couch she sat cross legged on.

Not too long after that, the olive haired male walked in the living room with the towel around his neck. He sat not too far from her on the same couch as her.

The female watched his hunched back as he dried his hair slightly, the spoon lingering in her mouth as he slung the towel back into it's previous position around his neck.

"How are you feeling?" She asked which caused his attention to now avert to her.

He have a firm nod, "Better, thank you." Ushijima hesitated for a bit with his words before speaking once more, "We lost today, for that I am sorry."

The girl scoffed which was a reaction he ws not expecting, "Are you kidding? In victory or defeat, I'll always be proud of you; no matter the outcome, I know you tried your best."

She then added, "Beaides you scored half the points in each set. It was amazing!" She beamed at him, making the male feel less guilty for his loss, "I honestly was speechless." Y/n fangirled.

Her eyes watched to her ice cream in her lap and she gestured it to him, "You want?"

The male declined politely, "I am on a strict diet."

Y/n smirked and neared closer to nudge his side, "Come on, I won't tell anyone." The girl wiggled her brows playfully.

"Fine." His easy compliance made her laugh a bit as she stood to get another spoon for the male.

As they sat on the couch, eating from the tub of ice cream, they conversed a bit.

First it was volleyball, then school and then upcoming graduation. It all came naturally. The h/c haired girl was surprised however when Ushijima reached for her hand and held it; the gesture made her smile.

She placed the tub off the couch to the coffee table and neared closer to Wakatoshi.

The sound of the rain filled their comfortable silence and the flicker of lightening through the window flashed on their faces.

The male neared closer, aiming to kiss Y/n on the lips. She gladly accepted while placing a hand on the side of his face.

The girl caressed the male's cheek with the pad of her thumb ever so slightly before pulling away a little. Ushijima could feel the smile of Y/n against his lips which in turn made the corner of his to lift up slightly.

Wakatoshi's phone buzzed in the pockets of his sweatpants he wore. Unwillingly, he checked it. He exhaled more harsh than usual and shoved the device back.

"My mother is requesting that I make it back home for dinner." The male explained as he stood in which Y/n nodded in understanding.

The rain had thankfully eased up but the the rain had been drizzling so Y/n handed the male an umbrella.

Wakatoshi placed a firm hand on the female's waist and landed a delicate kiss on her forehead. After saying their goodbyes, Wakatoshi opened the umbrella and made his way home.
