Eddie and Richie ended up falling asleep around 11 that night. Eddie tried the pizza rolls again and ended up not hating them completely. "See? Aren't these like, the greatest things ever?" Richie had asked after Eddie ate a few more. "I've had better," he admitted. "And isn't this making you feel more sick? You need to eat better if you want to feel better." Richie shrugged and leaned back. "If I do get sick again then I'll only have myself to blame."

After that, the two played monopoly while the radio played in the background. Eddie hummed along to the songs as Richie tried to organize all his properties. "I think I'm winning," Richie had said when he compared his properties to Eddie's. "Property-wise, yeah." Eddie rolled the dice. "But I have more money."

After a round of boardgames, they sat around and talked and watched the rain. The thunderstorm held up until midnight, lightning flashing every once in a while. As they were getting ready for bed a boom of thunder shook the house, spooking Eddie. He forced Richie to cut his teeth brushing short to go sit with him.

Eddie ended up falling asleep first, giving Richie a chance to watch him breath as the rain pounded on the roof. He laid down, facing Eddie. Richie ended up falling asleep with Eddie in his mind.

~~~
Sunlight poured through Richie's room the next morning. Eddie kicked off the sheets in his sleep, trying to cool off from the hot sunlight hitting him. Richie, safe from the curtains blocking the light, shivered and grabbed the sheets, pulling them up.
"No," Eddie mumbled and shoved the sheets over to Richie. He flopped onto his back and cringed at the sun heating up his body.
Eddie cracked his eyes open as he breathed in deeply. Sleep still crowded his mind as he looked around. Richie's digital clock said 6:20 AM, too early to actually get up. He looked over at Richie, his poofy hair flopped over his forehead. Eddie blinked as he stared blankly at his friend and that's when he realized Richie got the shady side of the bed.
He scooted over closer to Richie, their arms brushing against each other. Eddie's skin instantly starting to cool off as he rolled onto his side, almost instantly falling back asleep.
~~~

Two hours passed and Richie woke up. He felt pressure on his legs and over his torso and lifted his head to look around. It took a good minute for his eyes to shift in the new light and his mind to process, but he froze when we realized what was happening.

Eddie had moved over to Richie's side of the bed and flung his legs and arms over Richie, practically smuggling him. His face was pushed into the pillow as he slept soundly.

Richie slowly laid his head back down, his heart pounding out of his chest. He restrained from moving too much, not wanting to wake Eddie up.

How tensed up Richie's muscles were finally caught up to him and he had to relax. When he did, he couldn't help but snuggle down closer to Eddie. A smile forced its way up onto his face as he breathed in deeply. I'll pretend to wake up when he wakes up, Richie thought to himself.

Eddie lied there, awake. He woke up when Richie finally relaxed into the bed. He was afraid to move his arms and legs, which were flung over Richie, because of what Richie might say. Would he make fun of him? What if he got some sort of idea...

Eddie pushed that thought out of his mind. He looked up at Richie without moving his head. He couldn't see much, only how his chest rose up and down rhythmically.

Eddie had to push down the smile that threatened to takeover his face. He didn't want to move, I'll pretend to wake up with Rich does, he thought. He let himself sink into the bed, a small smile on his face.

The higher the sun rose into the sky the more Richie really needed to pee. He swallowed thickly and turned his head to the side. He didn't want to wake Eddie, and he loved this closeness, but holy shit.

Richie needed to pretend to wake up, maybe he'll shift over and give Eddie a chance to pull his arm and legs off him? Save him from the embarrassment. But Richie would love to tease him about it.

Richie counted down in head head before deeply breathing in and rolling onto his side, facing Eddie. Eddie's breath hitched in his throat, his arm slowly sliding off Richie. "Rich? You awake?" Eddie whispered.

Richie mumbled something and opened his eyes. "Morning, Eds," he said. Eddie huffed and moved onto his back. "Don't call me that, Rich."

Richie smiled and propped himself up. He slapped his bedside table for his glasses and pushed them on. "I'm going to the bathroom, don't miss me too much Eds," Richie said as he untangled their legs. Eddie sat up and pulled his legs closer to him. "As if I'd miss you." Richie shrugged and opened his door. "Fair enough. You could never miss me as much as your mom."

Eddie grabbed a pillow and threatened to throw it at Richie. He just laughed and pulled the door closed behind him.
