The three aliens heard the explosion and headed towards the sound, but stop about a hundred feet away from the military truck. They peered around the truck to see if it was OK to move up behind the truck and when they saw it was safe, they moved behind the truck. The peered around the corner of the truck and saw damage to the street in front of an odd‑looking building, They crawled under the truck and decided to get a better look. They went to the front of the truck, seeing two pairs of feet standing in front of their view.

The feet moved a few minutes later, giving the visitors a better view of the surroundings and saw a clear way to get into the building before they could be noticed. They walked behind the two soldiers that were heading inside to check on the others and the visitors would go inside, too. When they were inside, the visitors headed in the direction of the secret passageway and started knocking on the door. They weren't getting any answer from the people on the other side, so they used a hidden ability to materialize on the other side of the hidden door. When they appeared on the other side, the people that were hidden became frighten at what they have seen.

The alien leader raised what looked like a hand, silencing the group, and started to make grunting noises, but the earthlings didn't understand. Sheriff Jackson spoke and asked who they were. With that little bit of human language to help the aliens to comprehend, the alien leader spoke one more time, but this time John, Jane, and Sheriff Jackson understood.

"Don't be frightened, we aren't here to hurt you. We are here to help. I am Xan, leader of this crew. This is Bax, my engineer and the last one here is Flane, our direction officer. We were passing your beautiful planet and decided to visit for awhile."

"What planet are you from?"

"Your planet can not see it, it is galaxies and light‑years away from you. It is not as beautiful as your planet, but it is home. Before we ask what is happening, I must tell you, we've lost our bodyguard. It is a humanoid creature, but much stronger than any number humans put together. He is a little over six of your feet, but I am worried about him because when angered, he will hurt people. But, it takes a lot to anger him, you see he can be hurt and your people may hurt him very badly because he has learned to defend us against forces that are equal to his strength, but with your people he won't attack. He is very gentle and loves all creatures, but will fight to survive if necessary."

"Do you know where he is right now?"

"Yes, he's inside our ship your soldiers took away. We need to get to him fast or they are in for some serious trouble and it takes a woman to calm him down. Moid is his name and on our planet we have many woman who help keep him calm. Jane, you will be needed to calm him down and you can only calm him down one way, Flax."

"Flax, what is it?"

"Jane, Flax is the same thing you have here and you call it sex."

"SEX!!?"

"Yes, sex and you have to do everything to him as you would do to you mate. You see, Moid was brought to our planet by one of those rockets that you sent up that was supposed to be unmanned. Well, Moid was trapped on board when it was sent up quickly because it was supposed to explode or everyone thought it was. Moid was as human as you are, but when it was launched, he was trapped inside and was knocked into a deep sleep."

"I remember that rocket launch, it was thought that a malfunction was going to make it explode and destroy the launch site. An engineer by the name of Bill Noble was sent to fix it and radioed that it was going to explode. Bill told them to launch the rocket that moment and it was nice knowing everyone. After the launch, Bill's body was no where to be found and they thought he was vaporized by the tremendous heat of the rocket engines, he was missed by all the people on the base."

"Yes, he must of fixed it somehow and was knocked out afterwards, he then must of hit a space storm that froze the entire ship, because it took sometime to reach our planet. He was frozen solid along with everything on the ship and never aged at all."

"What happened to him after he arrived near your planet? What happened to him?"

"OK, we brought it down automatically and thawed him out. He was over six feet when we met him, but being frozen like he was, his body was badly burned by the ice. We healed him, but he was unable to think, walk, talk, or anything. We helped him out as much as we could, but found we had to replace some of his body parts, like veins, blood, skin, some bone, and his eyes. He looks like you still, but is know better. His mind is in fine condition, but we can't get him to think or talk. We retaught him to walk and all other physical things with great success, but we wish we could get him to remember plus talk." "I used to go out with him before the accident happened and I thought I lost him forever. I thank you for bringing him back to us and maybe we will be able to help him. On our world, if someone can't remember who they are, we try to remind them by getting him to see things he used to know and love, maybe it may help him to remember."

"Jane, since he knew and loved you, we could tell with monitors on our planet, you may be the one who will cure him. You just might bring him back to his senses."

"Well, if they find him, they might decide to fire on him and I don't think we want that to happen. If he decides to fight, will he injure innocent people in the process?"

"No, I don't think he would. To be on the safe side, I think we should get to that compound as soon as possible. Do you know a back way to the compound?"

For a few minutes, silence was heard and everyone looked at each other as if they are going to ask the other if they know. A few minutes later, Sheriff Jackson stepped forward with a map of the entire area in each direction.

"I don't really know, but this map should be able to help us. We are here in the center of town and the compound is ten minutes out of town towards the east, right about here. Here's the main road, but right here is the only other road out of town. It runs northeast of the main road and has a connecting side road about a mile out of town. The road is guarded, but not as heavily as the main road and an alley behind one of the buildings leads to the road."

"You mean we can get in and out of town without being spotted? We better get going, when do we leave?"

"Yes, we can, but the best time to leave would be after the sun has gone done. The sun will be completely down in an hour from now, so get things we'll and be ready to go in a half‑hour from now, OK?"

Everyone nodded their heads and ran back to their homes to get what they needed, while Sheriff Jackson kept an eye on the visitors from space. Everyone left Sheriff Jackson's office in such a fashion, that not even the military soldiers could hear them leave. John and Jane stayed together the entire time, keeping an eye out for each other and for any soldiers who may be lurking about.

Everyone met at the place they were supposed to meet on time and gather in the back of Sheriff Jackson's truck, getting ready to move out towards the compound were their friends are being held. They were kept hidden under a blanket in the back as Sheriff Jackson drove down the alley, behind unsuspecting soldiers, and made it out of town without being seen. They got up slowly from under the blanket and quietly cheered for pulling off their escape from the military. They drove for thirty minutes, they reached the compound and drove around to the side of the compound where their friends were being held. They were still on the outside of the fence, not sure where the soldiers were, and if they had been spotted yet.

"Do you think they spotted us yet," asked Jane.

"No, I don't think so. If we were spotted, we would have been captured by now," answered Sheriff Jackson.

"OK, what's our next move and how do we get out when everyone is free," asked Jane. There was a moment of silence and by the expression on Sheriff Jackson's face, it looked like he was thinking very hard. Therefore, they waited until he was ready to answer and then he did.

"How many people can fit on your ship and how fast is it," Sheriff Jackson asked Xan.

Xan's answer was something that no one wanted to hear and seemed upset by the news.

"We can only get about ten more of you humans on board and you got how many in that building, being held against their wishes?"

"About thirty people, that is a lot more than what your ship can hold."

Well, they looked at each other and decided to try to get the people out before being noticed. Xan suggested that Moid be used as a distraction since his body is protected from all earth‑like weapons. Well, everything except a nuclear blast that is, nothing can survive that. Xan and Sheriff Jackson came up with a plan to distract the guards plus free their friends.

The plan was simple in the wording, but implementing the plan into action would take some work and they were willing to try anything to free their friends. The first part of the plan is to get to the building, holding the spaceship and Moid then getting to distract the guards without hurting anyone. They would have to convince Moid that the soldiers' weapons wouldn't hurt him and that the men should not be hurt at any cost.

"Do you think that Moid will listen to you and not hurt anyone or destroy anything?"

"Yes, he'll listen to me because I'm his superior and he must do everything I say, no questions asked. Like I said before, we're peaceful, but if we must fight. Moid and others like him must be sent because they can take more punishment then we can."

They made it to the building where Moid was and were not seen by anyone. The others made it to the building their friends were kept in and attempted to break the lock off without making any noise at all.
