Ezra

I woke up and two things are out of the ordinary.

One, it's daylight, which is crazy because I usually wake up before the sun, and two, Vincent is still laying on me, head on my boobs.

I lay there for a moment adjusting to life, running my hand through Vincent's hair, enjoying the moment until I realized he overslept, "Vince," I shake him roughly like I have to do several times a week because the man sleeps like the dead, "You're late to work."

He let out a low groan in protest.

he's the boss you freaking idiot, he can't be late. Can he?

I decided to take matters into my own hands this morning, and pinch his nose, not letting go until he flinches like a whale coming out of the water, making a terrible snorting noise that I knew had to hurt his chest.

okay that was both cute and funny

I faked an innocent smile, like I didn't just almost commit murder in the first, and greet my husband, "Good morning my love, my sunshine, my da-"

I don't get to continue because Vincent reached out and pinched my sensitive nipple, making me flinch in response, "Not fair." I whined, "They're sensitive."

He lets out a grunt and shifts his head further into my chest, reaching his gargantuan hands under my shirt to cup my boobs, "Good morning my beautiful girls." Vincent says, as he lifts my shirt all the way to my collar bone, kissing around my nipples, making me flush pink.

"Sensitive?" he confirms, and I nod in response.

"Want me to make them feel better?" He questions, and I answered out a "have at it."

Vincent took a nipples into his mouth, moving his tongue all around while humming, making the metal accompanying my nipple vibrate, before pulling back and blowing on it, leaving it with cooling sensation. He went back and forth between licking and blowing for a few minutes, before moving to my next one, and giving it the same treatment. I reach my hand around his head to scratch his scalp while he soothes my aching chest.

I felt Vincent Jr. on my leg, and smile smugly down at Vincent Sr. lying on my chest, "You want me to make it better?" I mocked, as his mouth left my nipples.

"Not funny." He groaned.

"What if I'm not kidding." I joked, making him open an single eye in response to see my smug face, "I mean I am, but what if I wasn't." I laughed out a heinous laugh, joking at his expense.

Vincent rolled out of bed, pulling down my shirt.

"Better?" He asked, making me nod my head in confirmation.

"Make me coffee?"

"Make your own coffee, you big baby."

"You make it taste so much better."

"It's my spit." I joked.

"A special touch from my little wife, hm?" He joked, as I got up out of bed, and when I turned around to walk out the door he slapped my ass, making me yelp in return.

Vincent waited with me until Donnie picked me up, confirming I had all the items I needed for today. "You have your phone, and your bank card?" He asked, which prompted me to nod my head with a "Yes, daddy" that made him swat my ass in return, giving me a quick kiss goodbye.

I got into the car and greeted Donnie, noticing that he had stopped and got us both coffees, as he took us to the nail salon to get our mani's and pedi's.

"So?" Donnie asked, "I neeeeeed the deets, I don't think you understand." He laughed from beside me. "Lucas and I have hit a dry spell."

"Well, we didn't officially have sex, but he did, um," I stuttered, flushing pink, "eat me out?"

That's what Vince called it last night, fingers crossed I'm using it right

"He ate you out?!" He yelled, making the car swerve slightly in response.

"And added fingers!" I cheered out, covering my smile with my hands as I looked at Donnie, who was just as excited as I.

"With the fingering!? Ezra you little lucky horn dog!" Donnie gasped.

I covered my face in light embarrassment, "Donnie!"

"So? How does it feel to be half a virgin?"

I couldn't help at laugh at his reply, "We actually had fun time last night. I'm glad we waited." I gushed, as we pulled into the nail salon.

"Ezra your making me wish I could be a virgin so I could sleep with my husband for the first again." He joked, which promoted me to ask, "So, a dry spell?"

I hope I'm not crossing any boundaries, but he brought it up, and I want to help him like he helps me.

We sat down in the massage chairs at the nail salon dipping our feet into the water, sipping on our coffee.

"Yeah, Lucas has just been busy with work, and you know, my mother has been staying with us the past couple weeks, so we get zero alone time, so I don't know."

"Donnie," I soothed, "Do you know when she's leaving?"

"Lucas wants her to leave yesterday, he doesn't like the was she speaks to me, but she's my mother."

"I understand that, but just because she's your mother doesn't mean she's not toxic. It sounds like she's not good for your marriage."

Donnie stiffened for a second looking deep in thought, "No, you're right. I know that. Lucas has always said he hates how she speaks to me, which is why he's been working so late, and it's caused a lull between us."

"A wise man once told me that you should "communicate with your husband about these things, he'd probably like it."" I laughed, quoting his own words back at him.

He swatted my arm before retorting, "I see how it is, you lost half that virginity and think your funny!" He laughed at my expense which wasn't nearly as funny.

Soon after we finished our nails, we decided to run a few errands in the mall next door. We went into a few different stores looking for a specific shirt Donnie wanted, when I saw a bathing suit store open.

"Hey Donnie, do you mind if we run in there really quick?" I asked, pointing to the swimwear store and he shook his head and led us over.

I ended up picking up a few swimsuits because I knew the winter season was ending, and Donnie got a new pair of avocado swim trunks as well.

We made our way back down to the car, and went to a nearby pizza restaurant to eat dinner. We were waiting for our food to be brought out, when Donnie's phone rang out, interrupting his story about Fran, his dog.

where even is my phone?
oh yeah I left it in the car. all day. great.

Donnie apologized quickly before answering his phone, "Hello?"

He waited a second, letting the person on the other line speak before answering, "Yeah she's with me, why?"

"Babe, you're speaking a mile a minute. Calm down." He rolled his eyes, which made me laugh.

He took the phone off his ear, "Vincent's freaking out, said you haven't answered the phone all day, wants you to call him right now."

"Yeah well we've been busy, sorry we weren't just sitting around waiting for you to call!" He spoke firmly into the phone, and then hung up.

He rubbed his hand down his face, "Husbands." He groaned, making me laugh.

"I left my phone in the car, I'm gonna run out really quick and call him."

"Have fun with that, I'll be praying for you." Donnie joked half heartily.

Vincent isn't going to be that upset.

I got to the car and grabbed my phone and saw that I had nine missed calls and thirteen texts, dated from several hours to minutes ago.

Oh how I wish the ground would swallow me whole.

I clicked Vincent's contact name and the phone rung one time before I heard him answer, "You better have an astounding explanation as to why you've been ignoring me all day."

"I'm sorry. I wasn't ignoring you Vince, I left my phone in the-"

"I didn't ask where you left you phone! It should've been on you! Jesus Christ Ezra, if I wanted you to walk around without a phone I wouldn't of bought you one."

well you were gonna get some tonight but you fumbled that one my dude

"Okay, I don't understand why you're being so mean right now. I made a mistake." I tired to reason with him, but he cut me off, "Fine, since you can't even follow a few simple directions without making a mistake, you don't get to do simple things anymore."

I felt my eyes water at his words.

He sounds like my father.

"And what's that supposed to mean?" I felt the tears stream down my face, before harshly wiping them off.

"No more outings with Donnie. I expect you to come home right now-"

"We just sat down and ordered food, Vincent we can't just leave the restaurant in the middle-"

"You can and you will."

I didn't say anything back, just sniffled on the phone, making Vincent sigh loudly, "Eat your dinner and come straight home Ezra, I'm not doing this with you anymore."

I hung the phone up without saying anything, letting a few more tears fall from my eyes before wiping my face and heading back inside. Donnie had a worried look on his face, "That mad, huh?"

"He was so mad, and spoke to me like I was a child, he reminded me so much of my dad, I just, I don't know."

Donnie reached out and grabbed my hand from over the table, as the waitress brought out our pizza and sat it between us.

I don't even want to eat right now.

"The first fights are the hardest, Ezra. You've been in a honeymoon phase, had nothing to fight about. Now that you're settling, it's becoming real. When people say marriage is hard, this is what they are referring too."

"I know, I just didn't like how he spoke to me, usually when he gives demands it's helpful, y'know? I don't care to do them, but that was different."

"It helps if you look at it from his point of view, his wife wasn't answering the phone all day, he was probably just scared." He paused for a second, "don't get me wrong, do not let him speak to you like that, because men will treat you how you let them, but try and sympathize. It's a hard balance we all have to learn, but it gets easier as your relationship with him grows."

He's right. I know that, but it's still hard.

I groaned out in protest, "Why are you so freaking wise, you're like an owl or something." I grumbled out.

"Four years of marriage will do that to you." He joked, lightening the mood.

I ate a couple bites off a slice of pizza, but stopped when I realized I had lost my appetite completely. We kept our talk light the rest of dinner, he could probably feel the anxiety rolling off of me, but didn't mention anything, which I was grateful for.

Donnie paid for both our tabs, before driving me home and giving me advice, and as he pulled into my drive way and turned to me, "Remember what I said Ezra."

I nodded my head with a thank you, and grabbed my bags and went to the door.

Here goes nothing
