DIFFERENT KINDS OF RIDES

*

Nose deep in the books, Alexis writes more and more summaries. She's having her test week this week, and since a lot changed in the past few weeks, she forgot. Typically, she wouldn't forget such a thing. She has a test in a few hours and still has a little time to learn, so she'll take it as a win.

Alexis had always been quite a nerd; not only was she into school and essays, she had always been loving books. She loves to read, feel, and act like she's in their story. She used to do that often since she wanted to be anywhere but home.

With her earphones plugged into her laptop, her foot tapping on the floor, and her head bobbing, she continues learning for the upcoming test.

Eventually, her mind is tired after two hours of rereading and rewriting the same things. She had started doodling on her paper, sketching small things. Her music is now blasting through her earphones.

Ashton walks into the apartment, his hair wet from the sweat. He had an early practice today and decided to go together with Luke. Alex knew that and loved having this place for herself for a minute. A smirk falls on Ashton's face as he notices how Alexis is vibing along to the music. He takes a glance at Luke, and he nods.

God, they love bullying her to the fullest.

She's only wearing an oversized hoodie and some panties, nothing else. She hates trousers with a passion, such as bras. Her glasses are running down her nose, and her bun has become messy from all the headbobbing. Luke walks towards the kitchen to grab a bottle of water from the fridge. His blue eyes keep on looking between Alexis and Ashton, but they keep on her hanging at her figure.

She looks so free, so comfortable.

She looks so adorable.

Luke wants to look away, but ever since he laid eyes on her, he can't unless he's attached to someone else or inside. But even then, his mind is on her. The only girl he couldn't have until she was fucking drunk. He hates that she doesn't remember it. How her cheeks would turn darker, and her pupils grew wider. She would try to hide the smile and the hatred she'd show if he would ever bring it up. But it was the best he ever felt.

Not to mention one of the best orgasms he'd ever had.

He watches how Ashton walks up to her and grabs both her shoulders. A loud scream leaves the girl's lips until she realizes it's her oh-so-lovely roommate. Her chest is heavily moving, and her eyes are wide open. Luke can't help but chuckle at the state of the girl. A dimple appears on his cheek; one Alexis has never noticed before.

Of course, she had known him for god knows how long, but she never actually paid attention to him. Not until this... Bet.

"You fucking dickhead!" She screams loudly. "I thought somebody broke in." She pushes him away but quickly looks at her hand. "That's disgusting. Why are you wet?"

"Why are you wet?" Ashton returns her question.

"What?" She says, confused.

"Practice." Luke chuckles about the two roommates in front of him. He'd be lying if he said that he sees no chemistry. These two have something he never really noticed before, but he is glad they get along well. "Gonna take a shower. Aren't you supposed to be taking a test?" Her eyes widen, and she immediately looks at her phone.

He's fucking right; she can never make it on time unless she runs as fast as Usain Bolt. Ashton hides in the bathroom, and they hear the shower run after mere seconds. As soon as Alex can, she changes her clothes and sprays some perfume.

"Hemmings, can you do me a favor?" He looks up and shakes his head. He really makes himself comfortable so quickly. The man is somewhat lying on the couch. "C'mon, please? I need to be on time for this test. Can you please bring me?"

"No," he says, taking another sip from the water bottle. He moves himself to sit on the couch and looks at her. He knows that if he goes in ten minutes, they'd still be on time, but as I said before, they love to bully.

"Hemmings, please, I won't make it, and I studied really fucking hard." She falls down on her knees, not realizing what she's doing to him sexually now. He looks down at the girl again, feeling his pants tighten ever so slowly, and only from seeing her on her knees.

"You're really begging, huh?" She rolls her eyes and stands back up. "Fine, only this time, though, Finley." She smiles happily and grabs her tote bag filled with the needed stuff. Alexis quickly texts Ashton about where she is and how she's dragging Luke with her.

Luke doesn't mind driving around; in fact, he loves it. It makes him feel free. He usually drives around, and he doesn't have a destination. He goes on pure instinct and finds the most beautiful places. Sometimes the tiny city makes him feel trapped. He loves to discover new cities. Some days it ends up with him in a motel room with some random girl he met mere seconds ago.

He constantly feels like he's trapped, and maybe that's one of the reasons why he doesn't date. He has to stay loyal to one person. But how can one do that when one always feels so trapped?

"We're here," Luke tells the girl. She grabs the tote bag and hangs it around her shoulder. "You know," he starts while she opens the door. "You could thank me." He clears his throat, preparing for the high-pitched voice to mock her. "Thank you so much, Luke. You're so amazing. Maybe the next time, we could ride but differently." Alexis slowly shifts her head, looking at the guy, and cringes.

"We both know I will never say that." She says, stepping out of the car. A guy can dream, though. The brunette leans on the door frame and looks at him again. "But thanks for bringing me," she says. "Can you tell Ash I'll be home later because of the annoying busses?" Luke nods. "Okay, I gotta run, bye!" She says before closing the door, the window still down.

"Good luck," Luke mumbles, annoyed by how he didn't say it earlier. He drives towards the closest parking spot and parks his car there. He might as well waits for her; she has two tests as far as he picked up.

Taking the bus back to Ash's place will take an hour with the number of times you've got to change lines. Walking would be faster, but he's there already.

Luke puts his phone away and changes the channel of the radio. He loves the radio because he doesn't have to choose music himself; he has never been the biggest fan of that. Then again, he hates the radio because those radio DJs never seem to shut up. He hates it when they shit-talk their time.

After switching channels for the seventh time, he's finally content with the music and lets out a relieved sigh. Maybe he could be more amicable towards Alexis, but sometimes bullying her is funny. He has said nasty things to her but doesn't quite realize what he's saying sometimes.

It's a man; can you really blame him?

He looks out of the window and leans his arm on the open window frame.

Slowly, he thinks about how little he knows about the girl. It's not like he needs them to be friends, but if they see each other so much, he likes to know whether she can be trusted. Of course, his oh-so-lovely stepbrother loves her, but he's shitty. He loves everyone.

Luke likes to think of Michael as easy. Easy to please, easy to play, and easy to do anything with. Although, if you go back to easy to please, it depends on how you see it. Michael is easy to please once you agree with him and once you like what he's saying. If you don't, he will probably guilt-trip you into thinking the same way he does.

It makes the curly blonde wonder how Alexis is putting up with his shit. Does she agree, or doesn't he mind because he's in love with her?

God, Luke's been saying how Michael has had a crush on the girl. Of course, he had people over. He'd even had some girlfriends or boyfriends around, but the thing no one ever talks about? The constant same name, he moans, the same excuse when it happens.

The constant moan of his best friend's name.

"What are you doing here?" Luke looks up from the intense stare he was in to look into the familiar green eyes of his stepbrother. There's a look on his face Luke can't quite place. "Let me guess, you're waiting for Alex." A frown grows on Luke's face. He better plays this one out before Michael gets delusional. Although, he and Alex are probably talking about everything anyways.

"Didn't know she was here," Luke says, a sigh falling off his lips as he looks at the figure leaning on his car.

"This is the school she goes to, where I go to. You know that shit." A frown covers Michael's forehead. "Are you fucking her?"

"Jealous?" Luke laughs, raking a hand through his hair. "But no, actually. I'm here for some girl; I think her name is Stephanie." Michael nods and taps Luke's shoulder before he leaves. Luke leans his head on the wheel and closes his eyes for a second, completely losing grip on how tired he is.

When Alexis is finally done with her tests, one of which was an oral exam, she sighs, relieved. According to her, she did better than she expected and will treat herself to some good iced coffee when walking back home. She decided that when she finished her last test. The weather today is fantastic, so she might as well enjoy it while she can.

Once she walks outside, along the lines of all the cars, she notices a specific license plate. She never really cares for them, but she's confident she has seen it before. When she looks into the car, she sees the curly blond leaning on his wheel. The moment she's standing next to the window, she hears some snores. A chuckle leaves her lips. She walks to the car's other side, unlocks it from within, and steps in. He's such an idiot for falling asleep with his keys still in his car and the windows wide open.

The loud smack of the car wakes Luke up, and he immediately looks around him.

"You're an idiot. Do you know that? Any decent robber would have gotten your car." He rolls his eyes. "But now that you're still here, can we go to Starbucks? I deserve some iced coffee after today." Luke looks at her, still hazy about how he has just woken up from the most fantastic nap. At that exact moment, reality hits Alexis. "You waited for me?"

"Whatever you like to believe,"

"You waited for me!" The ends of her lips curl up, and her smile is fully displayed. "That's so cute; you really fell in love with me, huh?" He rolls his eyes and starts the car back up again. "Do you mind driving past Starbucks, though?"

"I suppose I can do that." Luke sighs, looking into his mirrors. The smile on her face grows wider. "How did your tests go, though?"

"You're so in love with me." She sighs contently, setting the radio some louder. "They went great, I think. Better than I expected them to go." Alexis tells the curly blonde. "Why did you wait for me?"

"Shut up," Luke says, but the corner of his lip twitches. He hates to admit how he can actually put up with her. She won't know for a long time.

"Yeah, I'm not going to say make me," Alexis says. "Because you're too suckish for me to make out with you." Luke looks at her for a split second. "I don't want to make out with you, by the way."

"Good talk."
