It was Friday, t minus one more week until the big championship tournament, and Jimin was sat against the wall, his nose in a book. Sure, he had a friend like Taehyung that didn't exactly encourage his antisocial and introverted tendencies, but this didn't stop him from indulging in his nerd-like pleasures. He was still the same boy after all.

"Earth to Park Jimin!" Taehyung shouted at the older who was so far into his book that there was no possibility of grabbing his attention. However, his attempt finally succeeded when Jimin looked up from his page and stared at his crush, confused.

"Sorry... how long have you been standing there?" Jimin blushed, keeping his finger locked on the sentence he last read so he wouldn't lose his place.

The jock laughed, "don't worry about it." Taehyung then took it upon himself to hobble down on the ground to sit next to Jimin. "Can you please explain to me why you're reading... for fun!?"

Jimin caught onto his tease and softly punched him in the arm. "Can you please explain to me why you're talking to me instead of your super cool, popular friends?"

Taehyung rolled his eyes at the older's remark. "I'm gonna pretend you're joking. Anyway, all I wanted to ask was if you're coming to the game tonight. Obviously, I can't play," Taehyung pointed to his wrapped ankle, "but I'm still gonna go to support the boys, so you wanna come with?"

"I'll be there." Jimin smiled, replacing his attention back onto the book page.

Taehyung was slightly annoyed, but he couldn't deny how cute he found Jimin when he got extremely absorbed into the story and made subtle reaction faces to certain events that took place in the alternate universe he was in. With that, the silver-haired boy secretly stared at Jimin with dilated pupils until the bell rang for class to begin.

Jimin dug his hands deep into his pockets as he walked down onto the field. When Taehyung invited him to the football game he hadn't planned on sitting on the bench with the rest of the team, but the jock was insistent on it. You're gonna pay for this, Kim Taehyung!

"Jimin!" The silver-haired boy lit up upon seeing Jimin uncomfortably approaching the bench. Thankfully, Taehyung was sitting on a smaller bench separate from the actual bench for the football players to stay when they weren't on the field. This calmed Jimin's nerves just a bit.

"I can't believe you're making me sit here with you. The whole school can see us, you know." Jimin slouched down next to the younger who threw a welcoming arm around his shoulders and let it rest there.

"What if I want the 'whole school' to see?" Taehyung winked, scooting as close as possible to the older. Jimin was unbelievably tense with all of the affection he was receiving from his crush all at once.

"What's with all this flirtatious behavior?" Jimin panicked, scooting only an inch away from the jock.

Taehyung instantly blushed. "I'm not flirting, I'm simply showing my best friend how much a love him! Unless... you—"

"New subject!" Jimin screamed to cut Taehyung off.

The younger laughed, softly punching Jimin in the arm. Although he was just as flustered, he felt as if he played it off smoothly. Plus, he wasn't intending on flirting. It just sort of came across that way. He almost felt bad for messing around with Jimin's feeling like that. It was just cruel to lead him on or give him false hope that Taehyung might like him too. It's not like I like him too, right? This is just how it feels to like someone as a friend, right?

"Umm... Tae?" Jimin snapped the younger out of his thoughts.

"Huh?" The jock quickly fell back into reality, turning to Jimin. "Sorry, I was just... thinking."

"That's okay," Jimin laughed. "I was just gonna ask how that speech is going. You know... the one for graduation."

Taehyung bit his bottom lip. "If I'm being honest, I haven't even started. It's harder than it looks."

Jimin rolled his eyes in response. "You'd better start soon so you can rehearse it before the ceremony. And since your not allowed to play football, you have no other distractions, so now is the perfect time!"

"Ahh, you're right. You wanna help?"

"Is that even a question?" Jimin giggled, fetching his phone from his back pocket. With that, the jock and the nerd spent the rest of their night creating a speech for Taehyung to share during graduation.
