~Make your wants want you~

Silently, I was led to a bedroom by someone who works here. Imagine working in a home. It's insane! The woman didn't say a word to me as she led me upstairs through many hallways until we stopped in front of a door. "This is your room," she simply said before she turned on her heels and walked back the way we came.

I opened the door and looked around. This room is much bigger than my bedroom at home. A four poster bed sat pushed up against the wall with a nightstand on either side of it. There was a collection of books on some shelves. Across that was two doors. Slowly, I walked towards them, not sure if I'm allowed to enter these rooms.

My hand rested on the door knob before turning it slowly. The door I opened led to a bathroom. Do I get my own bathroom? This bathroom was huge. It had both a shower and a bath separate. I closed that door and went to open the other one. It led me to a closet? It didn't look like a closet. It was its own little room. It had shelves lining the walls aswell as rails. In the middle of the room was a small couch.

This room is strange. I've never seen anything like it.

I must've been sat on the edge of the bed for hours staring into thin air until someone had come to collect me. The same woman from earlier demanded I follow her. I obeyed and stayed silent as we made our way through the palace. I would call this a house but it's more like a palace like the palaces princesses live in.

I was brought to a sort of meeting room. A large table sat in the middle of the room with chairs all around it. There was the same men from earlier but with two others I've yet to meet, not like I've met the others formally.

"Sit," the leader demanded. I sat in an empty chair beside the two men I haven't seen before. I couldn't help but stare at everyone's faces in awe. I've never seen this many people before. It's sort of overwhelming.

"What's her name?," one of them voiced out. I didn't say a word. Should I tell them what my mother called me or what my father called me? When no one else answered, the man turned to me. "What's your name?"

"I-I," I stammered, not knowing what to say. I was feeling nervous about talking to people.

"She doesn't know her own name?," one of them said questioningly with a slight snigger. The assumed leader stared at me, never moving his eyes.

"I-I," I tried to defend myself.

"Who doesn't know their own name!," another one exclaimed laughing. Suddenly, I found it hard to breath like the air was being sucked out of my lungs. I pulled on my dress as I tried to catch my breath.

They're laughing at me. Do they not like me? I'm confused. I'm terrified. I still don't know what's happening. This is all overwhelming.

Hands gripped my upper arms causing me to look towards the owner. It was the leader. "Breathe and count to ten," he ordered me. I took a deep breath.

One.

"Out loud," he spoke firmly.

"O-One," I panted out shakily. "T-Two." I paused for a moment taking a deep breath. "T-Three. Four. F-Five." Slowly but surely I could feel myself coming back to reality. "Six. S-Seven. Eight. N-Nine. Ten."

What just happened to me? It's never happened before.

One man had returned with a glass of water in his hand. I glanced around the room only to see everyone staring at me like I was an alien or something. They all stared at me strangely as I sat back down in the seat I was in previously. I slowly drank my water.

"I'm Aidan," the man I never met before introduced himself.

"I'm Elias," the other man introduced himself. Both of them looked alike with their facial structures but their build was different. Aidan seemed more muscular than Elias.

"M-My mother calls me Evangeline," I let out shakily.

"Pretty name," Aidan, I think, commented.

"Thanks."

"So Evangeline, you understand that you now belong to me?," the leader questioned placing both hands on the table as he stood opposite me, not sitting like me.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. I can't belong to him. I don't belong to him.

When I didn't answer, he clenched his jaw and stared into my soul. "You were given to me in exchange for something else." I didn't say a word as I looked at his face completely lost and clueless. He let out an annoyed sigh at my lack of knowledge. "Your father was in a lot of debt to me and to settle it, he gave me you. So now, he's debt free and you belong to me."

That made sense. My father just gave me away to save himself. Now I know for sure I won't be returning home anytime soon.

I belong to him which means he controls me, right? I hope not.

"I understand."

"Well, it's nice to meet you Evangeline. I'm Enzo," a man who looks almost identical to the leader spoke. Well, four of the men look identical to the leader other than Aidan and the other one, what's his name? Elias!

Enzo had no tattoos visibly on his hands or face compared to the others. Without warning, all the other men left the room without a word. "Don't mind them," Elias spoke before throwing an arm over my shoulders pulling me into him. I leaned against him uncomfortable and shy as he smiled down at me. "They're like that with everyone."

What does he mean by that?

"The guy who was talking the most is called Tobias," Enzo spoke referring to the leader. "He's my older brother."

Tobias. Such a pretty name.

"And the others you've seen are my brothers too. I'm the youngest." I nodded my head, feeling envious of the fact that he's got siblings and I don't.

"I've never heard of you before," Enzo commented. "We hear of people who are related to people that are involved with us but I've never once heard of you."

I've never once seen another person other my parents except for now, maybe that's why he's not heard of me.

Then again, I am the nameless child.
