The minute I stepped through the door, Celine was already ushering me back out.

"About time you got here, I'm hungry and there's no food in the apartment" she says grabbing the keys out of my hands and heading to the car as I stood there stunned.

"C'mon Nadia! And while we are at it you can fill me in on what went down" she said with a smile as she continued the walk to the car

Shaking my head and letting out a laugh I followed her. Getting in the car, I turned to her "boy do I have a lot to tell you", I said as I buckled my seat belt

"Then I said 'Corver I quit' then I smacked the shit outta her" I explained before taking a bite out of my burger.

"Wait you quit your job before smacking her?!" She asked in shock

"I was probably going to lose my job anyway. I had every intention of smacking that smug smile off her face" I said shrugged wiping the side of my mouth with a napkin

"That's fucking wild. I honestly didn't think you had it in you"

"The co-workers caught the thing on video too. My boss told them to delete it or their job, but I doubt all of them did. I might just be on WorldStar or some shit"

"And you might just need a lawyer" she said biting into her burger and swallowing. "Ruby is definitely gonna press charges, but you're lucky your big sis works for one of the top law firms in New York, so I got you if shit goes left" she said seriously

"Yeah I was talking to Hunter about that and he's tryna see if he could take some legal action against Ruby" I sighed

"That's good, she's been telling lies in him up and down social media"

We were currently at Jim's eating there signature burgers. It was the first time Celine has ever been here before.

"Celine can I tell you something?" I asked seriously.

"Sure go ahead" she said taking a sip of her sprite

"Hunter asked me to move in with him" I said quickly. I was a bit nervous not knowing what exactly her reaction would be.

"Okay and?" She said moving her hands as a signal for me to continue

"I told him no at first, but then he made me promise I'll think about it" I said biting my lip "and I am thinking about it, but I just wanna know what you think I should do?"

"I'll miss you, bye" she said laughing

"Celine I'm serious" I whined

"And I'm not?" She said sobering up from laughing "look Nadia, don't take this as I'm trying to get rid of you but you're grown enough to make your own choices. You and Hunter have been dating for a while so if you want to move in with him, I'll support you. If you don't then that's fine too." She said understandingly

"Okay that's good to know. One of the main reasons I hesitated was because I didn't want to leave you" I said

"What?! Who cares about me, It's your life Nadia. What was the other reason you hesitated?" She asked crossing her arms

"Well me and Hunter got into a fight. We made up, but right after he asked me to move in. I guess I was just still a bit disappointed with him with how everything went down, ya know?"

"I understand, but you know couples fight all the time. Considering how quick y'all made up, that shows growth and maturity. I could tell that he's really trying with you and he really loves you and wants to take this step with you. It's your decision though, if you don't feel comfortable agreeing with it, then that's fine take your time." She reassured

"I'd miss you though" I pouted

"Visit anytime, but just call ahead cause you never know if I'm there or not or if—you know" she said trying to hold back a grin as she took a sip of her drink

"Oh okay" I said laughing "it's like that? Do you Celine, do you"

"Whatever" she said rolling her eyes

"I'm still going to think about it" I nodded

"As you should, it's a big step" she nodded

With that, we attempted to finish our burgers.

"I think I drank too much sprite, cause I cannot finish this burger" Celine said leaning back in her chair wincing

"Me either, I say we pay and go. I gotta lay down" I said already waiving the waiter over

"Check please" Celine said before I could

"No problem, I'll be right back with it" he said with a smile before leaving to retrieve the check.

The waiter came back a few minutes after and Celine quickly paid for our food.

Walking out the restaurant with full stomachs we headed to Celine's car to drive home.

I was scrolling through my Instagram feed when I saw it, "Just as I thought, someone shared the video" I said laughing lightly

"Of the fight?" Celine asked furrowing her brows

"Of what else Celine? Yes, the fight" I said laughing as we stopped at a red light "you can't even see my face, it looks like someone grabbed this video from the security footage. Those damn people slick as hell"

"Lemme see" she said grabbing my phone to look at the video

"Celine-" I warned

"Chill, we are at a red light" she said watching the video "Damn, Nadia you got hands like that?!"

"Give back the damn phone the light is green" I said snatching my phone back shaking my head

"I'm going, I'm going" she said laughing as she began driving once again.

"Yo what's with all these cop cars passing us?" Celine asked confused as we made our way to the apartment complex

Right as we turned we saw about four cop cars parked by our apartment building.

"Well shit" I said in shock

"Ruby pressed charges didn't she?" Celine asked in shock at the scene in front of us.

"Most definitely"

When we Celine finally parked her car, a cop comes up to our window and taps on it signaling us to lower it.

Damn my ass is really going to jail.

"Are either one of you Nadia Washington?" The cop asked firmly causing me to raise my hand nervously

"I'm going to need you to slowly step out the car" he said with his hand on his holster

"Don't say shit" Celine said through gritted teeth.

Stepping out the car, I was immediately put in handcuffs.

"Nadia Washington you are under arrest for the assault of Ruby Hanson. You have a right to remain silent..."

It was as if everything was going in slow motion.

"You are free to go, someone posted bail for you" the cop said removing my hand cuffs. She then lead me out to of the cell and to the front.

I quickly rubbed my wrists to soothe the pain of the tight handcuffs.

Sitting down was Celine and Hunter together waiting for me. Both stood up in unison when they saw me walking out

"She's free to go" the cop said before leaving

"Imma start calling you 'Jail Bae" Hunter said laughing as he pulled me into his chest

"This isn't funny" I said glaring up at him

"Oh come on lighten up. You're a free woman now" he laughed

"Anyways, Hunter talked to his lawyers and he has a plan to make Ruby potentially drop the charges which is good. There's also some not so good news depending on how you take it" Celine said nervously "Mom and Dad kinda found out and they know. They are coming to New York"

"Fuck"

Fuck my life.
