I heard a frantic knock on my door that startled me— I wasn't expecting anyone.

Looking at the front door camera monitor, I saw it was Nadia and quickly opened the door.

"I'm probably gonna be in big trouble" she says pushing through and entering my house.

"Uh what-"

"I fought Ruby, well attacked is a better word. I had so much adrenaline pumping you know, I don't regret doing it but she might press charges or some shit" she rambled off quickly

"Wait why the hell would you attack Ruby? I get you were upset, but I was going to handle her!" I said frustrated

"She provoked me and I snapped. Trust me I'm not a fighter, I have no idea what came over me" she said pacing the floor before stopping in front of me "I don't regret doing it, but I ain't tryna got to jail either"

"God Nadia, how can you be so reckless?!" I scolded running my hands through my hair. She just made everything significantly worse.

I then stopped to examine her, only to see she didn't have a scratch on her "did you win the fight?" I asked calmly

"Maybe" she said grinning

"Okay, I'm low key proud" I chuckling causing her to laugh too "she got what was coming, I still don't like that you did it though" I pointed at her

"I didn't go looking to fight her, just to confront her. Then she started talking shit and next thing I know I'm quitting my job and smacking her to the ground—It was all a blur" she said shrugging her shoulders

"Wait, you quit your job too? Baby really?" I said a little disappointed

"Hunter if I'm being honest, it was worth it" she said throwing her hands up

I noticed her hands were a little swollen and sighed "follow me", I said as I headed toward the kitchen for an ice pack.

Opening the freezer, I pulled it out and handed it to her.

"Thanks" she said wincing a little as she placed it on her hand

"You've created a mess. I know Ruby for sure will press charges cause she's just that messy. I already planned to hit her with a defamation suit, but now I'd have to use that to make her drop the charges" I sighed

"If you weren't being a little football thot this wouldn't have happened" she said rolling her eyes

"How am I a football thot? You think I went to hang with girls? No, I went to hang with my boys and I just had to much to drink. I almost freaking blacked out." I reasoned

"Is it always going to be like that every time you go out? Girls throwing themselves at you and you just saying it's not your fault? Who told you to drink that much to the point of blacking out? You're an adult take responsibility for your actions!" she glared

"I mean it's what you sighed up for so yeah" I said "every player's girl goes through it, you're not some special case where it only happens to you!"

"I told you I'd try, I didn't sign up for that!" She countered

"So what are you done trying? Going gets tough and you ready to throw in the towel is that it?" I said getting angry

"Don't put your words in my mouth!" She said throwing the ice pack on the counter

"That's what it fucking sounded like!" I said getting in her face "it's always too much for poor Nadia, isn't it?"

"I'm going to need to step back Hunter" she said fiercely "what the fuck is your problem? I'm not the one who was going out acting like I ain't got no sense! Hell, Ruby could've fucking roofied you or some shit!"

"I'm the one with no sense? Says the one having office brawls" I said crossing my arms "don't tell me what the fuck to do I stand as close to you as I fucking want"

"Hunter if you don't-"

"Or what? You're gonna hit me too huh?! Think you're all tough now?" I egged on

"Hunter-"

"You ain't gon do shit-" that's when I felt the slap causing my cheeks to turn to the other direction from the force of the blow.

Stepping back automatically, I turned my cheek slowly laughing dryly. "Fuck you Nadia" I said calmly

"No Hunter, fuck you" she said with unshed tears in her eyes

"I already did remember" I said back sinisterly

"And you already have me regretting it" she said shaking her head "have a nice life Hunter, I'm done trying"

With that being said, she grabbed her bag and walked out.

"Yeah run away from your problems like you always do!" I yelled before hearing the door slam

Out of anger, I threw the closest thing to me—the ice pack— at the walk causing it to burst.

         "Shit, shit, Shit" I said as I repeatedly banged my hand against the steering wheel of Celine's car.

I didn't anticipate the conversation spiraling out of control like that. I didn't mean to hit him, he was just pushing and pushing an I just snapped.

We were both wrong.

While I was catching my breath sitting in the car I've come to realize, we were letting Ruby win.

I had two choices in this moment: start the car and head home or walk back in there and fix this.

I chose the later. Putting my pride aside, I wiped whatever tear remnants I had on my face and stepped out of the car.

Walking back up to the door, I knocked once again.

It took him a while, but he finally opened the door.

We kind of just had a staring contest for a few minutes. I was trying to read his expression and I guess he was trying to read mine.

"I'm sorry" we both said at the same time

Which shocked us both, "I'm sorry" I said once again

"Come inside, it's freezing out there" he said ushering me inside.

Once I was inside, I immediately turned around to face him and got to the point "I don't want Ruby to win and I don't like how that conversation ended" I said looking into his eyes

"I didn't either, and I'm sorry for egging you on" he said back

"And I'm sorry for slapping you. That wasn't okay of me to do, I shouldn't have put my hands on you" I said honestly

"It's okay, it wasn't entirely your fault" he said pulling me into his warm arms "we are gonna figure this out and we aren't gonna let Ruby win"

"We do still have to talk about some issues" I said as I pulled away

"We definitely do" he chuckled

And that's exactly what we did. We sat next to each other on the couch and discussed everything.

"Yes, I admit I should have controlled my self that night. Honestly I didn't want to admit it, but if Tevin wasn't there things could have been worse" he confessed

"I get it completely, you're out with your boys your having fun. I just wish you made better choices that night. I get you're a football player and there's gonna be groupies, but just for me can you keep your distance from that?" I pleaded "no more making me look stupid"

"I definitely can. I know if it was me, I'd be fighting everyone who even gets close to my girl" he laughed

"I don't doubt it" I laughed lightly

"Also no more throwing hands for you Okay? We are dating so people look at you, just as much as they look at me" he emphasized

"Yeah, but now they know not to try me" I shrugged

"Nadia" he warned

"Fine, how bought I just only throw hands in self defense. If they throw the first hit, I'm swinging" I said seriously

"Alright, that's a compromise" he nodded

"I think also we should stop cursing at each other, I feel like that makes arguments worse and escalates everything" I said referring to our  earlier argument that spiraled out of control

"Yeah you're right, I agree with that" he said with a smile

"You're cheek is getting red" I pouted "I feel so bad" I said as I brought my hand up to rub it gently

"You know what would make me feel a million times better though?" He asked with a smirk

"What?" I said looking at him suspiciously

"Make up sex" he said before pulling me onto his lap causing me to straddle him.

"Yeah, no" I said laughing

"Come on, we haven't had real time alone since the Georgia trip and even then we were interrupted" he said kissing my neck

"I'm on my period Hunter" I whined. It's moments like these, I wish I wasn't on it

"Oh now everything makes sense" he said seriously causing me to hit his arm playfully

"Shut up" I said getting off his lap.

Grabbing the remote, I turned on the TV in hopes to find something interesting on as Hunter soothingly rubbed my back from under my shirt.

"Is your fight video on WorldStar? I'm tryna see that" Hunter said out of the blue

"Probably" I laughed

"I gotta talk to my lawyers tomorrow to see what we can do about this Ruby situation" he sighed

"Can we not talk about her right now? She's taken up too much of our energy already" I snorted

"Say less"
