"Are we almost there?" Nadia asked me. We were driving for a bit now as where I was taking her was somewhere outside the city.

"Almost" I said taking a good look at her before turning back towards the road "Do me a favor though" I said catching her attention

"What?"

"Open the glove compartment, pull out that blind fold and put it on" I said

"Is this the part where you kill me?" She asked nervously, by this time we were driving in the forest on a dirt road

"No Nadia just put it on" I said laughing

"Well okay" She said as she finally put it on, I wanted to surprise her. It took me a while to even have the whole date set up, but she's worth it.

Finally I pull up into the house —a secluded house I owned but only used for the winters when my family would come down from Georgia.

"We're here" I said finally parking the Range and hopping out to going on the passenger side to open the door for Nadia.

"Okay watch your step" I say as I grabbed her hand to help her out the car.

"Is this blindfold still necessary" she said giggling as I shut the door behind her

"Yes, now hold on to me" I said chuckling as I lead her towards the door. Her hands having a tight grip on my arm. I finally got us inside and began to lead her toward the backyard area

"Okay you've been leading me for like the last ten minutes" she said. In the distance one could hear soft music playing as we moved closer towards the destination

"Patience is key beautiful" I said smiling at her "we have arrived anyway, you can take off your blindfold"

"Say less" she said letting out a laugh as she removed the blindfold, only for her to stop and gasp at what she was seeing in front of her.

Covering her mouth as she walked further into the area, turning abruptly to face me

"Hunter this is amazing"

"I'm usually not one for the outdoors but this is just so thoughtful and not to mention nice as hell" she said as she continued to look around

"I chose this place cause I wanted us to be secluded. No paparazzi just us getting to know each other" I said smiling

"It's perfect" she says seriously. Walking up to her, I grab her hand and begin to walk her towards the table.

"I'm glad" I pulled out her seat for her to sit down "I'm gonna just go inside to grab the food. You like pasta right?" I questioned

"I actually hate pasta" she said making a straight face

I'm horrified, what are the odds I get the one food she hates "Are you being serious? Cause I could get something else?" I said quickly, I wanted everything to be perfect

"No I'm just fucking with you" she said laughing "I love pasta"

I sighed in relief "Oh thank God. In that case I'll be right back" I quickly ran to the kitchen and pulled out the pasta from the stove and bought it out placing it on the table

"Would you like something else to drink though, I know you don't like wine?" I questioned. I had a bucket of ice with a bottle of Chardonnay sitting at the table already

"I'll have what you have"

"I actually was gonna drink some wine but I know you aren't the biggest fan of alcohol"

"Then I'll have wine too, I'll suck it up" she says giggling

"Alright Chardonnay it is" I said as I finally sat down and began to to serve us both.

"Well you don't see this everyday. An NFL athlete serving food" she said with a teasing smile

"You're the exception" I said winking at her causing that beautiful smile to widen, God she's gorgeous.

As we were eating we made good conversation

"You made this Hunter? Cause this pasta is delicious" she moaned after taking another bite

"Yep, it's my mom's recipe"

"Athlete, occasional magazine cover model, and he can cook. What can't you do?"

"I can't sing like you. Now that I can't do"

She started laughing "Oh that I know for sure. The way you were singing on the ride over had me contemplating my life"

"Oh whatever" I said laughing along with her "speaking of singing, I'm guessing you haven't taken my advice"

"What advice?" She said placing her fork down

"Don't be practical. Be brave" I reminded "pursuing your music" I added

"It's just there's so much more to an artist then just a voice. There's the songwriting, the artistry, the performance aspect" she sighed "I don't have all that, just the voice"

"I don't believe that. If you work hard enough you can do anything" I emphasized

"I should add motivational speaker to the list of  things you can do" she says chuckling

"You know my dad was the one who taught me how to play football at a young age. I looked up to him, he used to play in college but after my mom got pregnant he took the responsibility and gave up his dream. When I was twelve, he passed away and I was so broken"

"I'm sorry to hear that" she said sympathetically

"It's fine" I said waving it off as continued "but after he passed I thought I couldn't play without him, I was ready to just give it up. Then my mom told me that he would want me to go far and succeed—do what he couldn't. So I worked hard and here I am, doing what I love"

"I'm proud of you for that" she said with a genuine smile as she sipped her wine

"It could be you too with your singing, but you playing" I joked to lighten the mood

"Whatever" she said rolling her eyes

"On the subject of football, do you actually watch it, or did you just know of me...you know when you met me?"

"Oh I love football actually" she said with a smile

"A girl who watches football? Nah I don't buy it" I said laughing before drinking my wine

"No I do" Nadia said laughing "I use to watch the Dolphins with my dad but didn't start seriously getting into it 'til two years ago"

"The Dolphins, really? Out of all the teams"

"You obviously forgot I'm from Miami. I'm a loyal fan win or lose" she said crossing her arms

"Wow Okay" I said smirking "Loyalty I like that. I think I won the jackpot with you— beautiful, smart, good head on her shoulders and she watches football" I said making a shocked expression

"Whatever Hunter" she said blushing as both she and I began to finish up our food

Placing my fork down "Now that we are done, I actually wanna take you somewhere else" I said getting up

"Wait there's more?" Nadia questioned shocked

"Yep come on" I said grabbing her hand as she got up

"I don't gotta put that blind fold on again, do I?" She asked jokingly

"Nah just follow me" walking to the other side of the backyard area we were met with the movie area I set up

"Wow, you really went all out" she said gasping in awe

"Go big or go home" I laughed "I decided to go for the classic date—dinner and a movie

"Good choice" she began to drag me by my arm "come on what are we waiting for" she said excitedly. In that moment, I just knew she was almost too perfect—maybe too good for me.

"So what movies you got?" She asked after settling down

Grabbing the remote I began to search through the options "I got all the movies"

"Go back, go back" she said frantically as I was scrolling through the options "put Love and Basketball, I love that movie"

"Love and Basketball it is then" I said chuckling at her excitement before putting it on

"Come sit by me" I said "you're too far away"

"You're not slick" she said laughing as she got up and sat beside. I pulled her closer to me earning a look from her.

We were silent for most of the movie but I slowly found it more interesting to watch her then the movie

She finally caught on to me not watching "you know you're supposed to watch the movie Hunter"

"Not when I have a date like you to look at" real smooth Hunter

"You're are so corny" she said giggling as she focused back on the movie but I just kept staring

"Stop it" she said shyly

"Whatever" I said a small smile on my face "Nadia?"

"Yes?"

"I know you said you're loyal to your team and everything, but would it be too much to ask that you wear my jersey and cheer me on in the season opening game?"

"I don't even have your jersey" she said snorting

I pulled out a box from behind me handing it to her "now you do"

"You are something else. You were prepared huh?" she said opening the box to pull out my jersey

"I'm always prepared" I said with a shrug "So will you come to my game?" I asked hopeful

"Yeah I'll come" she said with a smile

"There's two tickets in there so you can take Celine with you or something"

"You know this is like my first ever NFL jersey I own and it's not even from my team"

"Cause I'm special" I said smiling

"Oh you sure are special"

"Oh you got jokes"

"Yeah I got jokes" she said staring into my eyes

Caught in her gaze, I began to move closer to her face. I knew what I wanted as I shifted my gaze to her lips. Just as I was about to move in closer, a drop of water hit my nose. Then another, then another

"Shit" I said jumping back as it began to rain on us

"Oh no I can't get my hair wet" she yelled as we both got up ran towards the house laughing

I didn't see this coming
