They way she abruptly ended the call let me know some shit was wrong. I pulled the phone away from my ear looking at it confused, as I stood in the presidential suite's kitchen.

"See you fucked up" Luke told me shaking his head while he studied the teams play book.

Luke Layton was the back up quarterback of our team, I had to room with him when our team was on the road because of our same position. I gave him field advice and we help each other out. Luke was a somewhat quiet dude and he was definitely a nosy person too apparently.

"You shouldn't have told her that" he continues

"Told her what Luke?" I said annoyed

" 'Don't think to much into the kiss. It was a spur of the moment thing' " he says putting air quotes around what I said and finally looking up from the playbook "that my friend was assholic"

"Why would she get mad at that" I say as I replaying our whole conversation in my head "Okay maybe that didn't come out right" I said rubbing my face knowing I fucked up

"Bingo" he says finally closing the playbook "odds are she probably felt some type of way about that kiss and you-" he said pointing at me "brushed it off like it was nothing"

"But-" he cut me off

"Unless you don't like her, in that case you're an asshole for kissing her in the first place and leading her on" Luke was really making me feel like shit right now

"Nadia seemed like she was nervous even talking about the kiss, I took that as she regretted it so I just-" Luke cut me off once again

"Tried to save your own feelings" he finally getting up from the living room couch "see Hunter that's where you fucked up again. Assuming is a real killer" he say waking to his room shutting the door.

I just stared at the closed door wondering when did this dude get so wise.

Shaking my head I quickly grab my phone about to call Nadia back, the phone began dialing. It dialed once before it sent me to voicemail, "Hey it's me Nadia, sorry I couldn't get your call but leave a voicemail after the beep" I just hung up the phone knowing she purposely ignored my call.

I tried to call again and same thing. I was getting frustrated and decided to text her instead hoping she'll respond then.

I hesitated before pressing send to make sure I didn't say anything wrong.

"Hey Luke?" I yell

I have to say I never thought I'd see the day I'd be asking Luke for advice instead of the other way around. He is married with a baby on the way so he has experience in that department—this shouldn't be too bad

He peaks out his room "Yes?" he asks with a knowing smile as if he knew I was going to come to him for help

"How do I make it up to her?" I say with a sigh

"You've come to the right man" he says smiling

Lunch was going great except the fact Hunter was bombarding my phone. Ignoring the two calls on my phone, I set my phone back on the table tuning back into the conversation.

Laurel was really sweet from what I could tell. From what she told us, she was from Georgia and she lived there for most of her life. Not only that she was extremely gorgeous—blonde hair, perfect smile, pretty blue eyes; she gave off this girl next door vibe.

We were just talking about Highschool experiences

"Oh I was a total bitch in Highschool" Laurel said "looking back on it now, I feel horrible about it because that's just not me anymore" she had a bit of a southern twang to her voice

"Oh yeah totally same" Ruby said "I wasn't like the queen bee of the school or anything but I was apart of that group. I kind of went along with what ever my friends were doing to stay popular you know" she said shaking her head

"Well I wasn't-" I was interrupted by my phone pinging twice

My phone was in between Ruby and I so she saw my screen before I could even lock my phone.

"Would you look at that, Hunter just texted. What's that about?"

"Huh?" Laurel questions confused

"Oh Nadia knows Hunter Reece, you know the Giants Quarterback and he just texted her"

At that moment I wanted to knock Ruby's teeth in. The fuck she telling my business for, I don't even know this Laurel chick that well!

I side kicked her an "ow" coming out of her shortly after

"Oh you know Hunter?" Laurel asks with a smile

"Yeah we are friends, of sorts" I say quickly "hey y'all wanna order mimosas?" I ask tryna change the subject as I grabbed the menu

"How did you guys meet?" Laurel asks giving me a bright smile

"Oh they met on a plane" Ruby says before I could say anything "super cute right?"

If I could strangle Ruby I fucking would

"Me and Hunter are friends, no type of romantic relationship going on" I said clarifying seeing as Ruby wanted to make it seem like we were dating or something with that 'super cute' comment "so can we talk about something else"

"No need to get defensive, I was only teasing" Ruby says laughing

This isn't a fucking joke

"So Laurel what made you come to New York?" I really was trying to defer from the last topic

"Oh I just wanted a change of scenery, and who could turn down this job anyways it was such a huge opportunity" she says "I couldn't pass it up"

As the lunch went on I just kept thinking I want to get out of here. Despite putting on a fake smile and engaging in the conversation, I just couldn't get over Ruby spilling my business.

I know who I ain't telling my business to anymore that's or sure.
