"How much have you really obeyed me?"

Taehyung asks as you trace your finger in circles over the lid of the teacup silently.

You refuse to look up.

"Do you not intend to help us? We haven't begun on the therapy, yet, y/n. At this rate, we will only be wasting time and not fix you."

You felt hurt that he saw you as a thing to be fixed. That was stupid. You knew you needed fixing, but, hearing it wasn't such a pleasant thing.

"I do." You say shortly and continue to circle your finger around on the lid.

Taehyung suddenly gets up, surprising you as he takes the cup from your hand, (a little too harshly) and places it aside. The cup makes a loud thump sound and your shoulders jerk up in response.

You regret telling him that you suffered from another anxiety attack the night Jungkook came back and kissed you.

You're not sure why he gets so angry.

"I uh.. I do the exercise you taught me." You finally say and play with a loose strand of your hair.

"What exercise exactly? Kissing your ex?" He places his fists on the sides of his waist and you shrink back a little.

"No, Dr. Kim. I meditate. The way you taught me."

"You will not be able to overcome this huge obstacle in your life, y/n, if you don't take me seriously."

"I am taking you seriously."

"Then you must establish trust and rapport. Tell me about your past and help me help you!" He is calm, but at the same time the way he is saying these things make you feel very intimidated and small.

You meekly look up at him as he glowers at you.

"I am ready." You whisper.

His expression changes. "Ready? For what?"

"I will tell you about my past."

"You remember everything?"

You raise your eyebrows.

"How do you know I forgot things?"

"You told me." He states as he grabs his chair and sits down.

"No, I don't think I did." You frown. You don't remember telling him that your memory was compromised because of your mental condition.

He shrugs, "Your anxiety is playing tricks on you. Anyhow, let's begin."

You exhale heavily as you consider his words.

Maybe, he is right.

You totally had even forgotten the little gift Jimin had given you. Until, Leena ripped the package open and declared excitedly that it was a destressing massager.

That thoughtful gift made you so warm and mushy on the inside.

"Y/n?" You feel a hand on your shoulder and look up. Taehyung is peering into your face. You realize you've been smiling absently.

"Yes?" You try to suppress your smile.

It seems like Taehyung has difficulty hypnotizing you lately.

He cups your face as you stare back up at him and swallow hard. He's watching you with an intent gaze that is making your insides twist with unfathomable warmth.

Your eyes flutter close as you hear a faint click. And you're drifting into a semi-conscious slumber.

"Y/n." Your mom is standing at the doorway of your room. A glass of milk in her hand.

You quickly look up, "Yeah?" Your desk is messy and you're already falling asleep.

It's exams season and you decided to stay up to study.

"Do you have to go to college tomorrow?" Your mom asks.

You frown, "Yeah. Why?" She walks into the room and places the glass of warm milk on your desk. "I was wondering if for a day.. you could skip it?" Her face seems tense, but you're so sleepy that you don't pay it much heed.

"No, mom. I have to go. Have to return the research books back in the library."

She nods curtly and pats your back as she peers into your book. "Hmm. All the best, Y/n. Fighting!" She waves her fist as she kisses the top of your head.

"San Ji slept?" She asks. You throw a look at the corner of the room where the bunk bed is and spot San Ji peacefully dozing off.

"Yeah, the little devil wouldn't let me study so I had to threaten him with his avenger figures. Almost threw them outta the balcony along with him, today." You laugh and mom laughs in return.

"You're a witch" She exits your room. Feeling comforted and relaxed, you drink the warm milk and decide to go to bed.

~~~
Your eyes open to the sounds of men in the house. Laughing. Windshield wiper laugh.
You squint at the clock at your bedside.
7:48 AM.
You put on your night robe and wake your brother up as you run to the bathroom.
Every morning you had to beat San Ji at the toothbrushing racing competition otherwise he would settle in the washroom and not come out for hours. Playing with his avengers.
Personally, you found it disgusting that he would place them around on the flusher while taking a dump and hold meetings with them inside.
As you put on your uniform and climb down the staircase, you hear your father discussing something with somebody in a very serious tone.
"It's pseudoscience, Jin! It's hard to say that it will work."
"But, Mr. Choi, that's none of our concern. You just have to arrange the research papers. I'll deal with the rest. There's a very young guy in the office, training as an intern and I see great potential in him."
You walk into the kitchen room and sit down at the dining table, silently listening. Your mom was in the kitchen, preparing your breakfast. As she sees you come in and attempt to speak, she shakes her head and asks you to be quiet for some time.
You instead turn your attention back to the sound of the discussion going on in the living room.
"What's his name?" Your father finally asks. Seeming convinced over whatever the matter it is.
"He likes to refer to himself as V."
"I don't think he sounds quite reliable." Your father sighs.
"Currently, there are two maniacs sitting there in the office waiting for your attention. If you can't deal with it, the police will have to hand them in for something that we're not ready to face."
"Ahh, Jhinja!" Your father sucks in an angry breath as he paces the room.
You curiously peek outside by the partition of the kitchen and the living room to see a really handsome visually appealing man seated at the couch. He pulls at his tie in frustration and spreads his long legs out as he leans back on the couch.
He's pretty young. And such a treat for the eyes.
"I trust you, Jin. I don't trust V. Or whatever the hell it is."
"It's a person and he's a good person."
"Fine!" Your father throws his hands up in frustration as he sighs and stomps his way to his study room.
You hear him punch the code in the vault and a minute later he is out with a bunch of folders in his hands.
Jin doesn't look pleased. "It's our hard work." Your father tells him.
"I'm totally on your side. But, V is trying his best. We have to give him a chance."
Your father nods and hands the folder reluctantly to Jin.
"Is that your daughter peeking from across the kitchen? She's cute." Jin suddenly points at you and your face goes red as you quickly pull your head back into the kitchen.
You look up to see your mom smiling and shaking her head.
"Here." She places gimbap in front of you.
"Who is he?" You ask.
"A colleague? Your dad's best friend? I don't know, honestly." You take a bite out of the gimbap and nod as you flip the pages of your assignment.
"I hope dad doesn't do something stupid." You say as you feel a weird uncomfortable feeling getting to you.
"Your father is smarter than all the men combined out there." Your mom laughs as she sits next to you in the chair.
"Y/n." She suddenly whispers.
"Hmm?" You don't look up as you read the sub topics and underline important key words.
"Don't go today, please?" She requests.
"Mom, you're oddly clingy. I told you I have to return this research book in the library. Otherwise they will suspend my card for another month."
You find it very unsettling that she would request you twice to skip college. It begins bugging you.
"Is something wrong, Mom?" You finally ask. Putting your book aside.
She brushes her hair out of her face, some red sauce smeared across her chin as she shakes her head. You notice that she's avoiding your gaze.
"Dad is going away on another trip, isn't he?" You ask. But, then, Mom never really reacted this strongly to your father's leave before.
She nods slowly, "I may feel lonely."
Even as your heart tells you that's not all, you can't help but reject her request to stay at home.
The book you have borrowed is a limited edition shipped right from Austria and you have to hand it in before they put you through trouble.
"I will be back soon, I promise." You press your palm lightly over her hand and smile warmly. "Let San Ji stay home today." You suggest.
She quickly shakes her head. "You don't understand, Y/n. It's not th-"
"Honey?" Your father is standing at the doorway and you realize you and your mom both have been whispering.
Jin stands behind your father and his eyes are running a slow scanning look over your face.
You don't know why but you blush furiously as he blinks and smiles.
He's gorgeous.
"Yeah?" Your mom quickly looks up.
"We'll be leaving now. This is Kim Seokjin, by the way. My trusted advisor." They both laugh light heartedly and Jin elbows your father as he shakes his head.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss. Hye-Eun." He bows his head politely and steps forward to shake your hand, "Your father is very proud of you, Y/n. I've heard so much about you."
"He is?" Your eyes widen as you twist in your chair and look at your father. "How come he never told me that before!"
Jin and your father start laughing as your father pats Jin's shoulder.
"I've got a crackhead daughter. Let's go."
As they leave, Jin tells your father to go ahead and then comes back.
Your Mom is busy loading the dishwasher and doesn't notice as Jin bends down, his lips level with your ear and whispers something that sends chills down your spine.
You're unable to breathe. Your chest feels tight and your heart feels like it has stopped pumping blood.
"Y/N!" Your eyes fly open.
Taehyung is watching you with worried eyes as you sit up.
"Are you okay? You stopped breathing!"
"I'm fine." You murmur as he pours you a glass of water and drags his chair to sit next to you.
"What did Kim Seokjin whisper in your ears?" He asks.
You think back and then you look at Dr. Kim.
"I don't remember."
You lie.
