Emery's view

I've been calling Gracen for a week now and she hasn't answered a single one of my calls. Maybe she doesn't feel the same way anymore. These thoughts broke my heart because I realized how stupid I was.

I just want to hug her and kiss the heck out of her. God, I miss her so much.

For the best two days I've been moping in my room, mostly just sleeping. What more is there to do when your heart is broken?

"Hey sis. Come on, you have to get out. You're not going to feel better if you just stay here," said Aiden as he jumped onto my bed.

"But my bed is so comfy," I replied back.

"True, but come on. Get up sleepyhead," said Ethan as he jumped on my bed, landing right on me.

I pushed him off of me before agreeing to go out with them.

"I'm going because I know for a fact neither of you two will let me sleep at all the rest of the day."

"Well, you're definitely right about that," Ethan teased.

After I kicked my mischievous brothers out of my room, I quickly got ready and left with them to get a coffee.

When we got to Starbucks, I went to grab a seat and my brothers went to order for themselves and me.

"Emery? Is that you?" Asked someone behind me.

I turned around and saw Clare; I smiled at her and got up to give her a hug, which she gladly accepted. She practically squeezed the life out of me.

"Hey Clare," I said.

"Wait, you don't still hate me," she asked.

"I never once hated you. I felt betrayed for a bit, but I realized that I was being stubborn for not realizing how much you guys care about me," I replied.

"We love you Em. You're our family too," said someone behind me.

I turned and smiled widely and gave Jordie a big hug.

I talked with them, catching up on everything I missed. Soon, my brothers came over and we all had a fun time bonding.

"Have you guys heard from Gracen?" I asked them.

"We spoke with her last week. But she seemed off and distracted. We tried to get her to tell us what's wrong, but she never told us," replied Clare.

I wondered what happened to her, I hope it's nothing serious. Ugh, I wish she would answer my phone so we could talk.

Gracen's view

I've been lying in bed all day. I can't seem to want to do anything. My heart hurts so much because all I want is Emery, but she's with someone else and that stings. I've been crying so much that my eyes are so puffy and my pillow is wet with all the tears.

"Gracen honey, you can't be like this anymore. I know you love her, but you need to get out of this room. Go to college Gracen, so you don't fall behind," said my mom gently as she came into my room.

"I don't think I'll get behind if I don't even know what I want to do," I replied back to her.

"Well maybe if you went to your classes, you'd figure out what you would like to major in," she sassily replied back.

"Ugh. Okay," I croaked out.

I got up and went down stairs to have breakfast and my dad was at the table.

"Gracen, you need to get over this. Get out, have fun, study. You were so good and studious before. The perfect student. Now look at you. You have to step up honey," my dad told me.

"I'm not perfect dad. I am who I am," I replied back.

"Don't answer back to me like that. You have to strive for better or perfect Gracen," he said sternly.

"Honey, ease up on her. She's still hung up over Emery," my mom told him.

"Right, I'm sorry Gracen. But you have to grow up honey," he advised me.

When my parents left, I sadly mumbled, "I'm sorry I'm not perfect."

Jordie's view

It felt great to talk with Emery again. I'm glad that Clare and I worked everything out with her.

We caught up on the lot of things that we missed out on in each other's life, but I could tell there was something bugging Em.

She looked really sad and distracted. I wonder if it has anything to do with her asking us about Gracen.

I'm surprised Gracen hasn't talked to her; I thought she would have shown Emery her video by now. Hopefully nothing bad happened between them.

After talk with them a little longer, Emery and her brothers had to leave.

Before Ethan walked out with his siblings, I pulled him back.

"Hey. Do you think we can maybe hang out together soon?" I asked.

He smiled before answering, "Yeah, I'd like that. Call me when you can."

Then they all left and I sat back down with Clare.

"I'm so happy that everything cleared up between all of us," she said.

"Yeah. But I think something is up with Emery and Gracen," I replied.

"Oh yeah I noticed. I don't understand why Gracen hasn't talked to her yet," she replied.

"Yeah. Maybe they need a little help," I suggested.

"Possibly. Maybe they need a little push from us," added Clare.

"I agree. Whatever happened we have to fix it. They belong together, I just know it," I said.

Clare nodded and we began formulating a plan to get them back together.
