Cameron POV

"Cameron, why don't you change your curtain? The color doesn't really go with the wall." Molina said.

She's been talking non stop. I've had to deal with her since I'm not allowed to leave the apartment by myself.

"Cameron I don't like this show, change it."

I pretended like I didn't hear her.

She snatched the remote out my hand and started looking through the channels.

I felt her side eye me as if she was looking for a reaction.

I took out my phone and went to Netflix to watch it on there instead.

I got up to use the bathroom really quickly. When I came out, I saw she had my phone in her hand. That's what I get for not bringing it with me.

"Why do you still have all these pictures of you guys?" She asked scrolling through my gallery. "Don't you think it's time to let it go?"

I grabbed my phone out her hand and saw she was going through the gallery, beginning to delete some pictures and videos of Anthony and I.

I knew she was trying to work me up. and I'm gonna try not to give in.

"It's been four months. I'm pretty sure he has everything of you deleted. You're holding onto the tiniest string of hope." She said.

I saw all in her face she wanted to get something out of me.

"I know you hear me." Molina stared at me. "Delete those pictures. I'm not gonna watch my best friend obsess over a guy that left him behind and disabled a guy over assumptions."

I got up and left the room as quick as possible. Because if I stayed in there I would've lost my mind and I don't feel like hearing it from my parents; they'd never let it go if I harmed Molina in any way— they think she's an innocent, friendly angel.

"Hey Cam, what's up?" My dad said from the kitchen.

"Nothing. But um, Molina needs to stay somewhere else. Please."

My dad looked fairly surprised. "What do you mean? You guys are best friends."

"I've told you and mom that her and I no longer get along like we used to, but you just chose not to listen."

"Honey, I think you need to take a minute and relax. Molina has been nothing by respectful to you since she got here, you're the one who gave attitude right off the back. She's changed."

"Changed? Ch–you know what, forget it." I began to walk away because this conversation was going nowhere but he grabbed my arm.

"Hey! Relax." He looked me in my eyes "you're gonna treat her with respect just like you do everyone else. You give what you want to receive." He let go of my arm and let me go on my way. I left the kitchen and put on my shoes.

"Can I leave for a few? I won't do anything stupid." I told my dad and he automatically shook his head.

"No, not at all. I'm going out for some time and it will only be you and Molina in here. Stay in the apartment."

"Daddy, I'm jus–"

"I said no, Cameron. And that's that." He put his hand up to shut me up. So I did the respectful thing.

I waited till he left to leave. I don't have anything important to do. I just don't want to be here around Molina.

"Hey, where are you going? I thought your dad said you couldn't leave?" She asked.

I grabbed my keys.

"At least let me come so I won't tell."

I began to leave, by myself. Because I really don't care if she tells.

But I was stopped by seeing someone outside the front door. Someone I wasn't expecting.

"Uh..." I trailed off.

"Hi Cameron I'm officer Leonard, is there any adult home?" He asked.

"No."

"Okay, well I'm gonna need to bring you to the station for further questioning on the case with Makai Woods and um, Anthony Jackson. There's a few things we need to clear up, if you'd just come with me."

Really? It took them four months to question me again? I told them everything I knew as soon as it happened;

Except I didn't make it clear if it was Anthony who shot Makai or not. I don't care how mad he was at me, how bad I felt for Makai, how scared I was, or how much trouble Anthony was in. I didn't bring his name up once when they asked me what happened. I couldn't bring myself to, it would feel wrong.

"But my parents aren't here." I said.

The officer nodded his head. "Yes, I'm aware but we need these answers as soon as possible, we'll deal with everything else once you're at the station. Come on, let's go. You can call your father on the way or we can call him ourselves."

I stayed put for a second. Four months with no questioning, and now they decide to disturb the peace? I try my hardest not to put my focus on what happened with Anthony and Makai because there's nothing I can do about it now. And I don't think they realize, there's nothing they can do about Makai's state. Whether they get Anthony or not, Makai will always have brain damage.

I followed the officer to his car. I texted my dad to let him know that I was headed to the police station. He didn't see it but I know he will eventually.

When we got to the police station, they took me to this secluded room to get questioned. I was sitting in there for a while, just thinking, until someone came in.

"Hi, how are you...Cameron Smiths?" The man asked sitting down. He had a big gray beard that was distracting me from giving him my full attention. That's how big it was.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Good to hear, good to hear." He smiled ten cleared his throat "Well I'm sure you'd like to just get on with it then huh?"

I shrugged.

"As we know, you witnessed the nearly fatal shooting of Makai Woods. We just wanted to ask you a few questions about Anthony since you guys were so close. It'll help us to find out where he is."

They really think I'm about to tell them what I know.

"Do you know if Anthony has any family out of state? Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins? Anyone?" He asked sitting up in his chair.

"No."

"No one at all? Don't feel you have to lie to—"

"I said no, do you want to hear it twice?" I interrupted.

The fact that I'm actually not lying this time and he thinks I am annoyed me.

He frowned.

"Sorry." I mumbled. I need to get it together and stop being mad at everybody.

"That's okay, I know a time like this can be overwhelming for you." He smiled.

He continued to speak on Anthony.

"We checked the street cameras by where Anthony's apartment building is. Around thirty minutes after the shooting, we saw a black car, what looked like a Mercedes Benz pulling off rather quickly. We couldn't make out the face but got a vivid image of the license plate. Can you just confirm to me, was that Anthony's car?"

I waited a reasonable amount of time to answer. "Anthony has a BMW."

Nope. He has a Mercedes Benz.

"Oh, a BMW? Okay, what color is it?"

"Silver."

Black.

The man sighed and excused himself for a minute. He came back with two cups of water and put one down in front of me. I'm not gonna drink it, I don't know what's in it.

"Are you aware that this case has opened up at least nine or more other shootings both fatal and non-fatal, involving Anthony Jackson? The police weren't aware of this before. But all the searching has opened up new windows. At this point he's looking at at least 20 behind bars. Or might as well be." The man, I now know as detective Lance, said.

I sighed. "Why are you telling me this? I have nothing to do with Anthony anymore nor do I have anything to do with this."

"Well because you're the motive for the shooting, aren't you? He caught you kissing up on another guy, got mad, and retorted to violence to get his point across."

Now, who told him that?

"Don't worry about how I know that. Just worry about telling the truth Cameron, and we won't bother you any more. This could all be over with if you just cooperate." He said slowly, reading my mind.

"One last question." He started.

"We've got our team out on it and we're taking this very serious for Officer Woods. He's one of our most loyal officers and his son has to suffer because of your boyfriend. So please, tell the truth."

I nodded to make myself more believable.

"Who's there for him? Where can we contact him?" He asked and I frowned.

"What do you mean? I don't k–"

"We know where he is, Cameron. You don't have to be afraid anymore. Who's in Massachusetts for Anthony?"

Tyler POV

"Who's pussy is this?" I asked beating the fuck out that girl pussy from McDonalds.

"Yours Papí" she said in that sexy ass Dominican accent. When the pussy tight and wet, I be thinking about wifeing these girls and making them have my children.

But I don't wanna be a daddy to children if you get me.

My phone kept ringing over and over again and as much as I didn't want to pull out, but my mother might be dying somewhere so I have to answer.

I pulled out of her and she whined.

"Give me a minute babygirl. Rub on that shit, keep it wet. I'm coming."

I sighed and pulled up my boxers and answered my phone without looking.

"What?" I answered, and yes I'm mad. Shit who wouldn't be.

"Tyler?" I heard Cameron's voice over the phone.

"Yeah, what's up?" I asked, watching the girl play with herself making my dick twitch in my boxers.

"Are you busy?"

"Uh... Yeah a little bit. Why what happen?"

"Sorry. But I just went to the police station they had to question me about you know, Anthony and stuff. And um they told me they know where he is."

"Oh word?" I said half not listening. "Where'd they say he is?"

They always coming up with new theories on where they think he is yet they never find him.

"They said he's in Massachusetts."

I paused and gave him my full attention. "Really? Who told you that?"

"The detective. They said something about a license plate."

"Lemme call you right back, okay?" I scratched my head.

"Alright, bye."

I hung up the phone and started putting on my clothes. I'm turned all the way off.

"What are you doing?" The girl asked.

"Sweetie, you gotta go. Something came up, but we'll finish maybe later okay?" I kissed her slowly so she thought I was being sincere. It always works.

She pouted "okay."

She put her clothes on and I escorted her out.

Once I closed the door, I took out my phone and began dialing.

"Hello??" I said nervously into the phone when I heard it wasn't ringing no more.

"Yeah."

"My nigga, they on to you for real this time." I said.

"What are you talking about?"

"Bro, they know where you are. They questioned Cameron and they talking bout they know you in Massachusetts. They on your ass my nigga, you gotta go."

It was silence on the other line and I scratched on my chin nervously. If you were in this predicament where your bro on the run from the cops, and they talking about they know where he is, you'd be scared.

"You deadass?"

"On my mother bro, I swear."

Anthony sighed in frustration. "Aight, you know what? Okay." He said suddenly.

"What?" I asked.

"Nah I'm just thinking. I'm gonna turn around. Yeah."

"Turn around? What do you mean?"

"Yeah... I can't stay for too long though. I'm gonna go."

I heard the phone hang up.

I kissed my teeth. I don't know why he be getting into things like this and it's ever since we was kids after his dad died. Always doing something dumb.

I got back in touch with Anthony like a month after he left. I was gonna share the news with Cameron but he told me not to. I usually do my own thing, but he seemed dead serious about it and I don't wanna be next to get shot, and when I say that I'm just playing but at the same time, I'm not.

His dumbass never took the time to sit and think if Cameron really meant harm with what happened. It's obvious he didn't want it. And common sense tells you if it was forced, he's weak compared to most men so he just wouldn't win.

I love my brother, but he doesn't think at all.

I'm wish I could follow up with Anthony, but he's so stubborn he'll never let me know exactly what's going down.

Cameron POV

It's like 11:00 at night and I suddenly got missed calls and texts from Pheonix. She kept going on and on about how she missed me and is sorry about what happened. She even sent a voice note of her crying about how much she misses me and belittling herself about what happened. Which I don't get because I'm not that exciting.

She told me about trying to get with someone more like myself.

I don't even know if I should forgive her, without her there's a lot of quiet and less unwanted criticism; minus Molina who went to Trevor's house. I didn't mention anything with him and I because it's pointless. She'll call me a liar.

I was bored, making macaroni necklaces when my mom came in. She smiled at me and sat down next to me on my bed.

"You're wasting what could've been dinner." She rubbed my head.

"Yeah, I guess." I smiled to myself.

I heard her hum and look at me with a smile.

"What?" I asked.

"You wanna hear a little something about your father?" She asked. I shrugged.

"Him and I? Used to have the same kind of relationship you and your boyfriend had." She nodded her head with a smirk.

"We used to live in Brooklyn, born and raised until I was pregnant with your brother. Your father was a very street involved man and that's what drew me to him."

"I remember he used to make late night drop offs, I was sitting in the back of the car doing my own thing. He used to be very aggressive and so one wayed, but that didn't mean he didn't love me."

"Of course, once I moved to L.A he came along as well secretly. And when he was there, that was that. My parents had no more money to move. And that's where we had to stay. They didn't want to press charges because they wanted the baby to have a father in their lives."

She looked like she was re living all of it just by talking about it.

"Wow." Was all I could say. I couldn't muster up a response, I was focusing too much on what she was telling me rather than how to respond.

"Wow is right." She kissed my forehead. "Clean up all of this when you're finished."

She left the room. I scooped up all the different colored necklaces I made into the box and put it on my dresser.

I'm not tired, so I'm just going to watch cartoons.

My phone rang again and I thought it was Pheonix but a random number popped up.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Uh, yeah. Is this Cameron?"

"Yes, who's speaking?" I asked not being able to make out the voice.

I heard the person kiss their teeth on the other line "This is Malaysia, Anthony's baby mother."

"Oh... okay, what do you need?"

"Do you know where he is because if he's not gonna take care of this baby, I need my child support."

What do I have to do with that.

"I can't help you with that. Bye." I was about to hang up until she said something else.

"I'm sure you can, you know where he hid his money right?"

Yes, but I'm not gonna tell her. Plus he probably already took it with him.

I lied. "No, I don't."

"Don't lie, you was with him all the time. Don't tell me you don't know where he put his money." She sounded annoyed.

"I don't."

I hung up on her.

I don't associate or communicate with him anymore, but these people have it all wrong if they think I'm gonna sell Anthony out. At the end of the day, he meant a lot to me and I would never do that if he was still around.
