I bring in a fresh bottle of wine for the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra are clearly tipsy and tired. Peni is practically drooling over Hunter and Daniel is staring at the ceiling bored. When he sees me, his smile returns. I discreetly nudge my head, directing him to follow me. I walk into the dining room, waiting for Daniel to excuse himself. Andy waits patiently beside me. We start talking in low voices when we head him ask where the bathroom is. He appears not long after. I let Andy take over by sneaking out of the room. I’m ready to go to bed. As far as I know, I’m done for the night. I approach Hunter, who is at the front door with Peni. Her parents are putting on their jackets, kissing their daughter on the cheek.
“We will see you again soon, Peni. Love you and make sure your brother gets home safely tomorrow.”
Daniel is staying the night? Looks like Andy is going to be busy.
“Will do, Mother. Have a safe trip home.”
I hold open the door, letting Mr. and Mrs. Ezra leave. Peni jumps on Hunter the minute the door closes, clawing at his clothes.
“Excuse me, sir. Am I dismissed for the evening?”
“If all of your duties for tonight are done, then yes. Enjoy the rest of your evening with Mr. Ezra.”

Blush creeps up my cheeks.
“I’m not sure what you are talking about. I am not the one he is spending the night with.”
He raises an eyebrow but then brushes it off.
“I would like you to run out to the grocery store tomorrow. I have some items I need. I will leave a note on the counter for you. I would like you home by noon.”
I nod, acknowledging his statement.
“Would you like me to make you breakfast, sir?”
“I will have Larry do that. Good night, Skye.”
“Good night, sir.”
