I hold up my shirt, examining my stomach in the mirror. I shift around, finding no visible signs of the pregnancy. In the stomach region at least. My breasts are already getting bigger.
A knock at my door makes me jump. I smooth my shirt back into place before opening the door, revealing Hunter.
“Please excuse Peni’s behavior at breakfast.”
“It is okay, sir.”
He shakes his head, frustrated.

“It’s not okay. She has no power under this roof. She is not allowed to trash talk my hard working staff.”
For once, I just want him to go away and leave me alone.
“I assure you I didn’t take it personally, sir.”
Hunter gives me a smile, relaxing.
“I will be taking her out to dinner later, so as long as you complete the cleaning, you can take the night off.”
“Thank you, sir.”
He finally walks away and I close my door. I don’t care how his stupid stuck-up fiancée acted during lunch. Actually, I do. I can’t wait to tell Andy. She’ll love the news.
