It's exhausting, both mentally and physically, living in a body you are at war with everyday.

You know what else i get most asked, you'll love this one

" You don't look like a diabetic."

I'm sorry, but what exactly does a diabetic person look like?

"I'm not leaving until I find my sister," I said, flaring my nostrils at him and taking a step forward. I immediately came to a stop and felt my head go light, making me dizzy.

This is not good; I need something sweet.

" Well, is your sister here?" Dylan asked, his face solemn, and his cold brown eyes locked on mine.

I felt dehydrated and softened my brows. This isn't good; I need to eat something quickly. I lick my dry lips as I feel sweat run down my body. Uncomfortable, I pressed my finger against my collar and yanked on my shirt.

The other guy, the one who wouldn't let me in, said, "She's waiting for you at the pajama party." I ignored him and kept feeling uneasy. The guys around me started laughing at what the guy said and continued to stare at me as if I were some kind of freak.

I stand in the middle of them, my feet facing each other. I swallowed hard and tilted my head up, my vision blurry as I looked around them. My gaze is drawn to him, Dylan.

He smirks as he looks at me, noticing my expression. After staring at my face, he slowly fades his smile.

Why is he staring at me so intently?

Dylan looks me in the eyes and makes a disgusted face.
"Hey, you look sick, and I suggest that you leave before you make me and my friends sick."

After he said that, my eyes swelled up, causing me to stand weakly and look away. I ignored him by taking another step, my leg wobbly and on the verge of collapsing. I kept my cool, not wanting to pass out in front of these boys.

Stay strong

I raise my head and look at them, noticing that they have all taken a step back. Fearful of catching something from me.

I flared my nostrils, inspecting each one until my gaze fell on Dylan. I glare at him with hatred in my eyes, and a tear escapes. I sniffed sharply and wiped away a tear. "Don't worry; I don't want to see your ugly face for much longer."

I told him, and I saw him raise an eyebrow at me. His expression changed; he didn't like what I said. He was about to approach me when he was stopped by one of his friends. I gave Dylan one last look before trying to walk over to the door and seeing it being opened by someone.

I came to a standstill and looked over, seeing the guy I had met earlier.

The one I almost ran over....

I said nearly because I had no intention of actually running him over! I didn't even notice the guy.

As he walks fully inside and turns his attention to the other boys, he looks at me with a puzzled expression. I make a pleading face at the guy. I'm not sure why I made that face, as if he'd come to my aid.

He ignores the other guys and walks up to me, placing his hand on my upper arm. "Hey, you all right?" He asked, and from the expression on his face, it appeared that he was concerned about me.

I was about to respond to him when Dylan interrupted." Leave her alone, she's sick, and you might catch something from her."

I sighed deeply and closed my eyes. I turn my head and look over at Dylan, who was staring at us blankly.

"She obviously doesn't like being here, and I'm going to help her out," said the guy who was comforting me. He looks around, his hand still on my arm, not letting go or disgusted by me. "Is there anything wrong with that?"He questioned, turning his head to see if any of the boys would respond, but none did. "All right, then." He returned his gaze to me and smiled warmly.

I raise my head and look into his hazel green eyes. Looking down at his lips and seeing his smile warmed my heart instantly. As I continue to stare at his lips, I soften my brows and notice my eyes becoming heavy.

Oh my goodness, I probably look like a freak.

Beep beep beep

My alarm went off, alerting me to the fact that I needed to take something sweet.

My green eyes immediately shine over to his, widening as I stare at him. He returns my stare and looks down at my watch, startled as to why it was set on a timer.

He was about to say something to me when I closed my eyes and collapsed on him, his hands catching me immediately. He picks me up in a bridal style and walks out the room without saying anything. He carried me through the living room, which was still crowded with people dancing, and out the door. He walks over to my car and holds me tight in his arms.

He slowly lowered me and forced me to lean against my car. He put his hand on my shoulder to keep me from falling over and searching for my car keys.

" Take your hands off her!" When I heard Hailey's voice, I opened my eyes a little to see her punching the guy who was helping me in the face. He scrambled back, groaning in pain and clutching his jaw. She sighs deeply and shakes her knuckles.

" Aria, what the hell happened?" She asked, turning to face me and holding me in place. She examines me and notices the situation right away. She takes my car keys, unlocks it, and places me in the driver's seat. Hearing Hailey kneel in front of me with her hands on my knees.

"Are you all right? Do you want to have your blood tested?" She asked, and I ignored her. I take a deep breath as look around my car and open my compartment box, discovering sweets I had stashed away for a long time.

I usually keep sweets around me in case I need something to boost my energy.

I took the chocolate and ripped it open with my teeth before biting into it. I closed my eyes and sighed heavily as I chewed quickly. I shook my head, licked my lips, and took another bite.

I looked over at Hailey and rolled my eyes."What were you doing? I've called you several times and you haven't returned my calls "I complained, my mouth full as I licked my lips and lowered my hand to stare at her. She averts her gaze and slowly rises to her feet.

" My phone died, and I came out here because..." She paused in the middle of her sentence and motioned her hands towards her mouth. She was trying to tell me something, opening her mouth and moving her hands around.

I frowned, not understanding what she was attempting to show me. I widened my eyes, knowing exactly what she meant, and choked on a chocolate piece in my throat, coughing, "Sucking somebody's dick?" I asked.

"Oh my God, what's the matter with you?" She raised her brows at me and shook her head. "I wish I was, but I was throwing up from drinking too much," she explained, placing her hands on her hips and looking away from me. I look behind her and see him standing there patiently waiting.

Oh, I didn't mean to forget about him..

Oops.

Hailey frowns at what I was staring at, then turns around to see him standing behind her. "Do you want to die right now?" She threatened him, raising her fist to frighten him away.

He remains stagnant and surrenders.

I let out a deep sigh and smile at my sister. "Stop, Hailey. He wasn't acting like that; he was simply helping me in getting to my car "I told her the truth, and the guy nods at Hailey, hoping she'll lower her threatening hand.

She lowers her fist and spins her body back to me, sighed and looked at me."I'm going to get my things over there," she said, turning her head and staring out. She raises her arm and points with her finger. I followed her lead, noticing her bag and phone on the ground,

And her pile of puke. Ew.

"And then we can go home," she said, returning my gaze, and I nodded, liking the idea. She smiles weakly, steps back, and looks over at him for a moment. She looks him in the eyes, scrunches her nose, and walks over to where her belongings are.

I remained in my driver's seat, facing the open door of my car. I notice him approaching me and looking at me with a grin on his face. I lick my lips, embarrassed that he had to witness everything. Seeing me in that condition and watching me devour the chocolate.

Great, now he knows....

It's not a big deal, but I wanted to keep it hidden. I don't want anyone to know about my problems because I don't want them to perceive me as weak.

I stare at him, trying to see what his reaction was after seeing everything, but he didn't have one. He stands in front of me, continuing to give me a comforting smile that calms my nerves. I'm not sure what it is about him, but his energy is comforting.

"Are you feeling well?"He asked, his concerned gaze fixed on me. He moves his dirty blonde hair away from his face and kneels down, his hand on my kneecap.

I nodded and moved my lips, softly smiling at him. "I will be," I said, and he nodded slowly.

He looked back inside my car, at my emergency kit. He continues to stare and swallow, clearly wanting to ask me a question. Before speaking, his hazel green eyes return to mine, and he licks his lips.

" So, are you-"

"Type 1 diabetic, yeah," I cut him off, anticipating his question and answering it. He raised his brows and nodded. I look at him, watching his lips form an understanding smile. I furrow my brows and fiddle with my fingers. "Please don't tell anyone," I asked, my lips trembling as I spoke and my worried eyes staring at him.

I'm afraid he'll tell everyone.

I don't want anyone to know except those closest to me and my doctors.

He arched his brows and stares at me, puzzled by what I said. "What do you mean don't tell anyone?" He asks, slightly squinting his eyes, and waits for my response.

I licked my lips and let out a soft sigh through my mouth. Looking around and feeling my eyes well up with tears. " M-My situation..."I stutter my words, tilting my head to the side and returning my gaze to him. He frowns slightly and stares into my green eyes. " I don't want people to find out..."

I told him, my eyes welling up with tears as I looked into his. I bite my bottom lip and close my eyes, tears streaming down my cheeks.

"I'm sorry, but I can't make any promises."

He said this, which caused me to frown and open my eyes to stare at him. When he said that, my heart dropped; he wasn't going to keep it a secret. My heart began to race, and my eyes stinging with rage.

He returns his gaze and smiles. "I can't make any promises to someone whose name I don't know," he said, smiling at me. I widened my eyes and sighed softly in relief.

I chuckled as I wiped away my tears, swallowed hard, and licked my wet lips. "You got me good there," I said, continuing to chuckle. He laughs with me and keeps staring.

"My name is Aria," I introduced myself.

"I'm not going to lie, I heard your name before I was punched in the face, thanks to your sister," he said, looking down and shaking his head, chuckling lightly to himself. I smiled as my brows furrowed.

"My name is Jay, by the way," he said, holding out his hand for me to shake. I smiled, took his hand in mine, and shook it.

"I'm sorry about your face, Jay," I said softly as we continued to shake hands. He laughed, and I laughed with him. I looked over and noticed Hailey walking and standing behind Jay, her face tired.

"Are you two done being cringey?" She asked, clutching her belongings and making a bitch face at us. When I saw Jay's expression, I rubbed my lips together and raised both of my brows. He stands up and walks away from my car, seeing Hailey roll her eyes as she walks over to the other side of the car and into the passenger seat.

I kept watching Jay outside, then turned around to face the stirring wheel and shut my car door. We both stared at each other, and I watched him motion with his hand as he spoke to me. I squinted my eyes and concentrated on his lips.

"I will keep your secret safe."

I smiled after reading his lips. I start my engine and begin driving away, one last time looking at him and seeing him wave goodbye.

"He definitely wants to get in your pants,"

Hailey exclaimed, moving around in her seat to try to nap. As I continued to drive away, I smiled to myself. Looking in the rear view mirror and seeing him still standing there staring at my car.
