Brett flinched and stayed sitting on his chair, flustered. Meanwhile, Eddy turned off the camera and started fidgeting with his hands. He knew he ruined the situation and didn't dare turn back. After a few seconds of painfully awkward silence, he sat back down next to his friend and apologized:

"I'm sorry, I just... The camera.." he pointed at the recording material whilst looking down.

"No, no, no, don't worry about it, it's fine."

But was it really? I mean, he was about to kiss his crush, and that was a big deal for him. It would be a big deal to most people anyways. Brett bit his bottom lip and thought a few seconds about what he should do. After a moment, an idea popped into his mind.

"So, uh.. Do you wanna, like... Go on a date?"

Eddy hid his face and scruffled his hair, as he was blushing. Did he really ask him on a date? There's no way that was what just happened. Except, it seemed to be the reality. He sighed to calm himself down and answered:

"Yeah.. Wanna get lunch together?"

"You mean like we usually do?" Brett confusedly asked. It's true, they often got lunch together if they finished filming right before noon. How would this change?

"Well, yeah... Except it's a date. Duh"

Brett laughed and looked into Eddy's eyes. He was looking forward to this lunch break, which wasn't always the case. Seeing someone you want to be more than friends with so often must be pretty difficult at some point, and Brett was already dead inside most of the time, so...

About half an hour later, the two boys went to their usual lunch place together. They ordered the same as they usually do, because why would you change something almost perfect already? The element that made this day really perfect was the date aspect. They weren't going to "get to know eachother" because, clearly, they already did.

But, you know, dating is just something you do before getting in a serious relationship, and it's always an interesting situation to be in. Brett was already imagining meeting new people with Eddy next to him. "Hey, I'm Brett, and this is my... Eddy. This is Eddy." He could feel the awkwardness of not knowing what to call eachother, and hoped to get to the boyfriend phase fast enough for this not to happen.

The two violinists date went smoothly, they talked about what they usually talk about, except there was some flirting involved. When they started talking about different soloists they were more into at the moment, Brett said:

"You're my favourite soloist, though. But you know that" he winked across the table outside.

"As a matter of fact, I didn't. Where did Janine go?" Eddy joked. "But, seriously though, you're my favourite soloist even without the violin."

"Huh?" Brett tilted his head in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"I love listening to your voice is what I mean." he winked at him.

Brett grinned and quickly realized how stupid he must've looked for a few seconds. "I knew that, though. Old news."

"Right. The ViolinChannel 20 Questions interview." he smiled back, because even the most idiotic smile would be the most beautiful to him.
