A/N: In celebrating our first 100k, most of you goldies wanted to see a bonus chapter of before Amber's parents got killed. THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN. And I shalt givest myeth goldies just thateth.

God, I'm weird.

Before everything.

"Okay, left, right, upper cut, now sweep!" Jason orders.

I'm so out of breath, I can barely show I understand my instructor. Not wanting to do more laps though, I do as he says. My opponent for my defense classes always changes so I never know what to expect.

I hit left, hit right, upper cut and then sweep with my leg.

My opponent obviously already knows my moves, so he avoids the sweep. Frustrated, I swing my body, forcing gravity to work with me here, and flip before kicking him in the face.

My opponent goes down. And I nearly go down with him.

"That's good, Amber," Jason praises.

I heave in a breath. "Nanksssss..." I breathe.

"What?"

"Nanksss..." I repeat.

"Amber, did you just invent another word?" Jason laughs. He's been my instructor for a month now - the longest yet and thus he knows my habits already.

"Yeah. It's 'no' and 'thanks'. Nanksss," I breathe and trudge over to the wall that has some towels for me.

God, I'm sweating like a pig. Defense classes always leave me feeling like I took a dip in the grossest swimming-pool ever. But at least it keeps me in shape. I swear, if it isn't for these classes, I'd be out-weighing an elephant by now!

"I think we should do some laps before you go clean up," Jason suggests.

I quickly dive for the door that leads away from the training room.

"You can run, but you can't hide, Amber," Jason laughs.

Before I even make it to the door, I'm already out of breath again and start panting like a dog. My body is just too worn out.

"Actually, the joke's on you, Jason," I breathe, "I can't do either."

Jeson lets out a breathy chuckle and clasps my shoulder before leading me out of the training room. Out of all my instructors, he's probably one of the hottest. They all range in age and gender and size, but Jason is exactly what you'd picture for a defense instructor. With his broad shoulders, short hair and welcoming smile, he'd be any normal girl's dream.

Only, he's like twenty-five and I'm seventeen. That would be weird. Then again, I'm almost done with grade 11 and then I'm off to my last year of high school! Whoop, whoop!

"See you next Saturday," Jason says and leaves me when we get to my room.

I wave Jason off with a goofy smile before pushing the double doors that lead to my room open.

My laptop that's chillin' on my bed suddenly lights up and I know it's Jessy, my cousin, that wants to Skype with me for the millionth time today.

"HEY GURL!" I greet after accepting the Skype video chat.

"SUP BITCH!" Jessy greets back.

My cousin is also laying on her bed and has the biggest grin ever. She's wearing tight leather pants and a very revealing black crop top - that could actually work as a sports bra as well. Her blood red lips and dark eyeliner sends a smile to my lips because it suits her so much.

"You asked me what's up, like, right before I went for my defense class," I laugh.

"I know, I know! But I can't stop talking about this guy! Seriously, Amber! If he knew how obsessed I was with him, he'd dump me and run for the hills!" Jessy laughs.

"He can try," I joke back, "but we both know you run faster in heels than without."

"True," Jessy laughs.

"But hey, I'm happy he makes you happy. You think you guys are going to date for a while?" I ask.

The video glitches for a second before Jessy's shy smile appears. It's a smile from before she traded her vans for heels and jeans for leather pants.

"I'd love to, but... There's something... You won't understand, but there's danger that comes with the package," Jessy says.

I smile wickedly, "What's wrong with a bit of danger?"

Jessy laughs. "No, real kind of danger, Amber."

"We'll talk about it after dinner, Jessy, I promise. My parents told me they have something important to announce so I have to shower ASAP. Call me tonight!" I tell Jessy when I realize I'm probably going to be late for Saturday lunch.

"Sure thing!" Jessy says before I flip my laptop closed and rush for the shower.

I'd really love to see Jessy more. We've been besties forever. But she and her parents only visits on holidays and when it's Mom's birthday. My mom's younger brother, Uncle Anton, missed one of her birthdays and wow, let's just say he'll never forget again.

Mom literally flew over to him, grabbed him by the ear and dragged him all the way onto the next flight and got him here in no time. 'I'm your big sister. I watched you get pushed into this world, so I can watch you get pushed right out,' she threatened.

My late gran-gran made the whole family watch the tape where she gives birth to Uncle Anton and... Well, I still get nightmares.

After showering for at least half an hour, I dry myself off and get dressed in my favorite vintage dress. I prefer my dressed to be from vintage stores, but Mom insisted we design this one.

"Hey, Fam!" I greet upon bouncing into the living room. I immediately regret trying to be bouncy, because my muscles are screaming at me to stop moving.

"Hello, Amber!" Mom greets from where she and dad is cuddling on the couch.

This has been their Saturday morning routine ever since Mom swore to read Dad the entire Harry Potter series. Dad once made the mistake of saying Harry Potter was for children and well, Mom's one for proving a point.

"No, please, finish the chapter," Dad begs.

"Robert, I want to greet my daughter," Mom says and pushes dad off the couch before walking over to me.

Dad lands with a painful thud onto the wooden floor. "Ouch," he says before jumping up and grabbing the Harry Potter book to read the rest of the chapter himself.

"How was defense class?" Mom asks.

I shrug it off, "As usual," I answer.

"Your father wants to take you to the gun range tomorrow. He says that if you beat him, we'll buy you a car," Mom announces.

My jaw drops. "A car! You guys are buying me a car!" I exclaim.

"Honey, it was going to be a surprise!" Dad sulks from the couch.

Mom rolls her eyes and looks back at me. "It's only if you can beat him though," she says.

I send Mom a wink and a smirk. "Of course I'll beat him," I say.

Mom leans in and whispers, "I know, that's why I already bought you the car. Just don't tell your father that, because the other day I had to open a jar of pickles for him. I think the old-age is catching up to him."

"I CAN HEAR THAT!" Dad complains and I laugh myself sick. "Oh, but Honey, we shouldn't forget our announcement..." Dad suddenly says and becomes a little more serious.

There's two kinds of Dad's for me. The one that always has a smile and that refuses to admit he can't open a jar of pickles and then there's the other dad. The one that wears business suits and that's always serious.

"What's the announcement?" I ask.

Mom bites her lip - something I catch myself doing sometimes as well. "We have someone we want you to meet..." Mom says wearily.

My stomach goes a little cold. "Uhh, who? I ask.

Dad finally leaves his book and joins Mom before saying, "Well, it's nothing official yet, but... You know we love you and your happiness comes first, but... We need you to meet this person... I- I feel like shit for saying this, but, Amber, Honey, we have to start looking at forming alliances in the uhh, business," Dad says.

"Alliances?" I ask.

"My uhh... boss, wants to expand his business, but for that we need to form some ties with other businesses..."

"I'm not exactly sure what you're implying," I confess.

"Amber, we don't want you to marry the guy tomorrow or anything, but... It'll be nice for you guys to get to know each other for, you know, future purposes," Mom says.

My heart sinks to my feet. "Marry? I'm only seventeen!" I protest.

"As your mother said, it's nothing immediate... It's just for... future purposes... At least meet the guy and after say, a year or so, and you still don't like him, we can look at other options," Dad reassures me.

I calm a bit down at that. My parents have done so much for me. The very least I can do is marry someone to help them. I love my parents. I can be open about marrying someone they suggest.

"When will I meet him?" I ask.

"Tomorrow," dad says, "You'll meet him tomorrow..."

"Okay," I answer.

I'm set. Calmed and prepared to meet the man my parents want me to marry in a few years. It's just a small price I have to pay for the luxuries I have. My loving parents. My family. My fortune.

But what I don't know, is that I won't meet the guy I'm going to marry, tomorrow.

Within the next few hours, gun shots will fill the house and it'll change everything.

Hey, Goldies!!!

Who was Amber suppose to marry?.... Do you think it's someone from Tygerwell?

Shout out to Freebiiee that's been supporting me and needs some more support for her book, Wake Me Up. It's a pretty cool Sleeping Beauty spin-off.

Don't forget to vote, comment and follow me.

ALSO, the reason why I don't have a cast list and just pictures of how I imagine my characters is because I want you to use your imagination. The pictures is just a little push in the right direction. I don't have models for my characters.
