When we arrived at his house— no, it was more like a mansion— I was still in awe about the size of it. My mind traveled back to when I first came into the house.

"Who's room was the purple one?" I asked in curiosity, suddenly remembering the room.

I saw him tense before him saying with a grin that was probably fake, "That is my little sister's room."

"Awe, how cute. I never knew you had a sister," I cooed and patted his head. I had to stand on my toes to do so.

"Mhm," he responded, walking into his own room. "She's the center of the entire family— when there even is a family. Good grades, good looks, talented at literally anything she does. And she's only thirteen." I heard him scoff softly.

"I mean, I love her and all, but it's like she's my parents prized possession. They praise and adore her but give me nothing but negative shit about how much of a failure I am," he mumbled almost inaudibly and shook his head. Luckily, I have super hearing. Just kidding.

I didn't know how to respond, but luckily I didn't have to when Lucas turned to me with a grin. "So," he said, clasping his hands together, "tutor me."

I rolled my eyes and said with a teasing tone, "Not until you say the magic word."

     "I have cookies," he replied.

"So, take out your math notes!" I instantly responded with a grin on my face. You can't go wrong with free cookies.

He laughed at my reaction and told me with an amused face, "I didn't take any notes."

My mouth opened and I swear if it was a cartoon, it would've dropped to the floor. "No wonder you're practically failing math!" I exclaimed and shook my head in disappointment.

"In my defense, I have a C in it, not an F! Plus, I pay attention, I'm just too lazy to take notes and end up forgetting it all," he shrugged nonchalantly.

I raised my eyebrow, "How are you even in AP classes?"

"My parents are lovely, aren't they?" he answered and laughed at the expression on my face.

"Are you implying that they paid for you to get in? What the fudge nuggets!" I screamed with a hint of anger in my voice. Because unlike him, I actually worked my way up to the top.

He shrugged and chuckled, "The school was in desperate need of money and my parents were in desperate need of a perfect son. Guess it only benefited one side."

I frowned at the statement. He was pretty perfect in my opinion- wait, what am I even saying? I wiped the frown off my face and patted his head. "Awe, I'm sure they love you."

He muttered something inaudibly under his breath but then just nodded with a grin. "I'm still waiting for you to tutor me."

"Right, right. One sec," I responded and took my math binder out. "Get a piece of paper out, I'm making you write down the notes."

"But why?" he whined like a small child, holding out the the last word.

"Because I'm going to mane you ace this test," I stated sternly, certainty in my voice.

He rolled his eyes, but complied with my demand.

And then I started to teach him. The best part? He actually paid attention and tried to do the problems I had made up. Yay, Kylie for the win.

✄ ——————————————————————

It took about two hours until we were finished with both the math and the English and I was exhausted. Lucas kept making inappropriate comments and kept dragging us off topic while I was teaching him. For Heaven's sake, he talked about video games that I didn't even know existed! He also talked about how amazing it was

"We'll find out if I will ace the test soon," he told me with a wink. "Did I ace this tutor session, Babe?"

"Stop, you're making me cringe," I replied with a groan. "And no, you completely failed! Woo, go you!"

"That's not the only thing you'll be groaning to," he said, making me smack his head. Gosh, boys these days.

"Well, Kylie. It was nice hanging out with you, my BFF!" he chirped with a grin on his face, probably just to annoy me more.

I rolled my eyes at him and mumbled, "Just drive me home."

"We'll take the long way home," he winked at me, most likely not knowing that he just referenced my favorite band.

"So we're taking the long way home!" I screamed out, earning a concerned look from the boy. It's not my fault that it just so happened to slip out— you don't just reference my favorite band without me singing until my lungs give out, okay? Okay.

I shrugged and pulled on his wrist to drag him out of the door.

"Hold up, woman, I need the keys!" he yelled, trying to get away from me.

"Oh. Right," I said with a sheepish grin and let go of his arm.

He laughed and went back into his room and arrived back outside with the keys dangling from his fingers.

"If we do take the long way to my house— if that even exists— I'm in control of the music," I commented with a stern tone. I was not letting him pick any music. Bad idea. Maybe.

"I get to pick at least one song though," he whined. "Plus, it's my car!"

     "One," I narrowed my eyes.

He laughed and walked down the big staircase and then out of the door  I followed behind him then attacked him since he was just so attackable. . He fell to the ground with me on top of him.

Our eyes met and I felt my stomach churning. Why that was, I didn't know.

"We can flip over right now and have a good time," he winked, making me slap his forehead and scurry off of his body.

"You are so disgusting," I grumbled, not caring if he heard it or not. "Now get your butt up and drive me home."

We were soon in the car and Lucas played a remix of one of Nirvana's songs. So, to say the car drive has been fun was an understatement. After his song, I was blasting literally every Green Day song on the radio and singing— no, it was more like shouting— to every single one of them. Oh gosh, I just referenced 5 Seconds Of Summer accidentally.

I'm such a good fan, thank you. I'm aware.

Wake Me Up When September Ends started to play though the speaker and I grinned widely. "This is my favorite song by Green Day!"

"Nah, American Idiot is the best," Lucas retorted with a laugh. "But this one is pretty good."

"I was about to say if you just insulted this beautiful song, I was going to murder you," I replied, rolling my eyes.

We arrived at my house a few minutes later and Lucas unbuckled his seatbelt. He leaned over to my side and our eyes locked for the second time today. Or was it the third? Who cares, all I cared about was the fact that his eyes were pretty as fudge nuggets. Pretty ugly! Ha. Nice save, Kylie.

He poked my side and I let out a squeal followed with a small giggle. He smirked and started to tickle me.

"No! Sto-p-" I gasped as I screamed for mercy between my fits of laughter. "I'm g-going to get h-hiccups!"

"I can't b-breathe! Stop," I yelled out and if anyone was around they'd probably think that someone was trying to murder me.

After a good century of constant tickling, he finally stopped. Thank the heavens, the monster was finally done with his torture. I unbuckled my seatbelt and ran out of the car. I banged on the door to my house, trying to get away from Lucas as quick as possible.

The door opened and I ran inside. Not before kissing my mom on the cheek with a "thanks Mom, now I gotta Zayn" though. I hid behind the couch, which was near the door, and earned a weird look from my mother.

"Hey, Lucas. Do you want to come inside?" My mom asked and I silently cursed her for inviting Lucas inside.

"No thank you, I have to pick my sister up from her soccer practice then study for the test coming up. But that you for the offer," he replied and I let out a breath I was holding in.

"Of course! Have a good rest of the day," she exclaimed and waved him goodbye.

Once the door was shut, I leaped up from my hiding place in joy. He was gone, yay!

"Isn't he just so polite and sweet? And he's got the looks. He's a keeper!" Mom said and I swear if I had water in my mouth, I would've spit it right out.

"Mom, I'm not dating him and I don't plan to!" I exclaimed embarrassedly and received a pointed look from her. Then a hiccup.

"Mhm, that's what I said when I was your age," she replied and sighed in nostalgia. "That statement didn't live up to its expectations."

I rolled my eyes, saying, "He's just an friend. Maybe even an acquaintance. Always will be. Nothing more. Okay? Okay. Thank you, goodbye now."

He's just a friend. Yeah right, Kylie.
