Bria

It was now reaching 8 o'clock, and my evening had been less than eventful. I had hardly rode any rides since Samaad was trying to dodge Chris and Devyn— the only good thing that came from this was the cute teddy bear I got, and Samaad didn't even win it.

Now that we were leaving, Samaad dropped both Christopher and Devyn at her house, and by the looks on their faces I knew what they planned to do.

Gross.

As we traveled farther and farther from Devyn's house, I noticed we weren't going in the direction of mine.

"I think you made a wrong turn."

"Nah I know where my house is." He said with a chuckle.

"Your house? Uh, when did I agree to that?"

"Don't be a prude Bria, we're just gonna chill."

"No..we aren't. What about that do you not understand? Just take me home."

"Alright! I'm turning around...chill out. I don't know why you've been acting all...high and mighty." He said before making a u-turn.

"You're a dick." I mumbled, causing him to abruptly stop the car.

"I'm a dick? I was trying so hard all day to impress you and now you ain't even tryna do nothing for real. I wasted my money!"

Of course.

"I'm glad. Take me h-"

"Please just sit there and don't say anything else. I'm just about ready to leave you on the side of the road." He said restarting the car.

Christopher

Her parents weren't home. I sat nervously in Devyn's room as she undressed herself. Play it cool, Chris.

As she climbed on top of me my mind somehow went to Bria. I knew what Samaad's intentions for tonight were, and I also knew that they didn't match Bria's. I'd kill that nigga if I found out he was forcing her to do somethin- wait..why do I care what they're doing?

"You ready Chris?" Devyn said into my ear.

"Uh yeah.."

"Why are you so nervous? I know it's your first time but stop acting like a baby." She said roughly unbuckling my belt. She attempted to talk dirty to me, but it ended up sounding awkward and strange.

"Okay..where's the condom?" She asked me, sounding annoyed with my inexperience.

"Oh. Uh..." I said digging in my pocket, searching for the condom I'd stolen from my mother's drawer.

She laughed.

"Sometimes you act so slow, Chris."

Slow. I don't like that word. I hear it from my mother plenty enough.

I pushed her off of me, and began buckling up my pants.

"What's wrong with you? Where are you going?"

"I'm leaving."

"And how do you plan on getting home-"

"I'll find somewhere to go. And quit calling me shit Devyn, I got a couple things I could call you." I said exiting her room and rushing to get to her front door.

"You know what? You were probably just scared. Storm out if you want to, but think about what you're doing."

Bria

When Samaad finally dropped me off, I went into my room and checked my phone. I figured Forest must've sent me something from his iPad by now.

He usually had a lot of fun at sleepovers, and would message me all night about the shenanigans and pranks he'd be doing with his friends.

Forest:
Bria guess what
Bria
Bria
Bria guess what ??

It's always something.

Me:
What? You okay?

Forest:
Trey peed his pants. It was so funny.

Me:
Very funny, Forest.

Forest:
I know right? I never pee my pants.

Me:
You need to get to bed Forest. Tell trey's mom I'll pick you up around 12 tomorrow

After I sent the message, I heard the front door being rattled with.

What is she doing home?

"Brianna!" I heard my mother's voice shout.

I rushed out of my room, running right into the tall slender woman in front of me. She was carrying a couple grocery bags— and like always, she didn't look happy.

"Where's my son?"

"I told you already mom, he's at his friend's sleepover. I texted-"

"As long as you know I ain't the one picking him up, I don't care." She said, looking me up and down.

I hate when she does that.

"And what are you so dressed up for?" She asked pulling lightly on one of my hoop earrings.

"I went out with my friends earlier." I said attempting to keep my cool.

"A boy, huh? Do you get that type of attention yet?" She asked in a tone that felt like it was meant to taunt me.

"I was with my friends."

"Mm. Well I came to drop off these groceries. I'm gonna be at Greg's apartment most of the week so you need to cook for your brother. And these groceries ain't cheap, you got some cash on you?"

"I don't have much....I'm saving for Forest's birthday. He told me he wants an easel so-"

"You can get him a card or something. I need the money, so you need to get a job."

I sighed and entered my room— carefully pulling out the shoebox that had my savings in it. I had a significant amount of money saved up over the years to take care of Forest and I, but I always told my mom that I had fifty to a hundred dollars, knowing she wouldn't hesitate to take it all.

I pulled out the fifty she wanted, and brought it out to her.

She snatched the money and dropped the grocery bags to the ground.

"When is his birthday?" She asked, referring to her own son.

"Next Wednesday."

"I'll be home then. Put these groceries away I'll be back in the morning." She said getting up and leaving our apartment.

Yeah, right.

As I began to put the groceries away, I heard my phone ding from a message.

Dumbass 🙄:
Samaad asked me to tell you to call him back.

Ugh.

Me:
Samaad is blocked and it will remain that way.

Dumbass 🙄:
What happened?

Me:
Why do you care Christopher? What happened with you and Devyn? See, none of my business.

Although it would be interesting to know what really happened between Devyn, it was inappropriate to ask. Why was he asking me about samaad?

Dumbass🙄:
If you really want to know...I ain't bout to deal with her no more. Waste of time.

Hm. Interesting.
