while boarding the train to reach our destination, i fumbled in my coat for my phone. pressing the button, the screen lit up. i tried scrolling through my contacts and found eunhee's number. I tried calling her but she didn't picked up her phone.

'did something happened? she isn't picking up.'

"eun... hee..? who's that?"

haneul saw my phone screen and moved her stares onto me. how stupid I was, I haven't told her that I am married.

"uh.. she's my.. wife."

I awkwardly stated and in a split second I saw, something flashed behind her pair of brown eyes. then, it faded and she puts on a large smile on her face before smacking my arm.

"why didn't you tell me you're married! well, congratulations!"

she laughed and hummed to an unknown tune. for some reasons, after that, haneul doesn't frequently stares at me anymore and she kept on making our conversation shorter. I was quite confused but I ignored it and patiently waited for us to arrive at our destination.

after a few minutes, I felt the train stopped and the sounds of hurried footsteps can be heard. I slowly opened my eyes and see that we were finally at our destination. my sleepy eyes travelled to the head that was resting on my right shoulder. I took a glance at haneul's sleepy face before softly flicking her forehead.

"ow - huh... what..?"

I chuckled at the sight of the confused haneul before she sent a deathly glares at me.

"we are here."

I said, yawning loudly while stretching my limbs in satisfaction from the one hour sleep. then, I tried checking my phone - to see whether eunhee had called me back or not.

'still no calls from her. seriously, what happened?'

I was worried as I stared at my phone until haneul grabbed my arm and pulled me up on my feet. a large smile plastered on her face as she dragged us out of the train.

"stop looking at your phone. let's go visit your parent's graves."

haneul dismissed my thoughts and I hesitantly nodded. I wanted to run away and go to wherever eunhee was but I couldn't leave haneul alone because I was the one that asked her to come here with me.

with that, we went to my parent's graves and as soon as we arrived, haneul squatted down - placing a bouquet of flowers on the tombstone. I didn't bring anything to them, instead I gave them a prayer of mine. haneul did the same and we went into a serene silence.

"we were good back then. back when your father and mother are still alive."

haneul suddenly voiced out. I looked at her as she heaved a long sigh.

"we would get ourselves in trouble and get into detentions together."

she laughed and shook her head. I was suddenly brought back to those laughable memories and couldn't help but smiled.

"that is, until your parents passed away and you had to moved to seoul and transferred to the high school there."

her laughter died as she hugged her knees together. the sadness laced her voice as she stared at the ground. to be honest, she was way more closer with my parents than I was. to her, it was also a great loss for her.

"now, let's not bring the mood down and let's talk about your wife!"

haneul changed the topic suddenly and grinned evilly. I only managed to stutter and spilled incoherent words.

"how did you meet her?"

"a - at my workplace."

"do... you love her?"

I was quite shocked by her question. I wanted to brush it off with laughter but her expression suddenly distorted into a serious ones. my lips couldn't help but uttering the truth.

"yes, I love her."

I heard haneul gasped, almost inaudible. her shocked expression was then replaced by a happy one before she nodded with a sigh. talking about eunhee, I forgot to call her. I was still concerned about her not picking up my call.

so, I dialed her phone number.

"pick it up, pick it up..."

I mumbled while walking back and forth. then, the call went straight into voicemail which frustrated me further. I was mad yet worried on what happened to her. maybe she was purposely not picking up her phone or maybe.. something really did happened to her.

"jungkook."

I heard haneul called my name. I whirled around to see haneul furrowing her eyebrows at me with her lips slightly tugging down.

"jungkook, do you love her more than me?"
