You didn't bother to stay for the rest. You didn't bother turning off the tv, either. Almost robotically, you walked outside into the cheering arena and saw the recreational games had just begun. The screen showed multiple names in blocks, slowly moving up to first. You looked at the board in a daze, barely managing to see your name.

Y/n L/n vs. Iida Tenya

Stiffly, you walked down the small steps and to the edge of the stadium.

'How...? My mom...' You thought, enclosing your fist around the railing. Your eyes burned with confusion, knuckles going stark. Despite the cheering, fireworks, and the crowd, your mind could only focus on what you heard a few minutes ago.

'My mom... is out and... free...'

"L/n?" A hand to your shoulder made you jump.

"JESUS DUDE WHAT THE FUCK!" You yelled, whirling around.

"S-sorry..." He said, pulling his hand back to him. "It's just... you were gone for a while and I was starting to worry." You let out a sigh.

"Yeah, sorry, got lost," you replied, "Didn't bother trying to find you."

"I see..." He said nervously, "How are you feeling?"

"Uh..." You said awkwardly, "... good... what about you?"

"Nervous." His reply was instantaneous. "Shinso is my first opponent and... I have a habit of worrying over things..."
You quirked a brow.

"Yeah, we been knew, hun."

~
Sitting amongst the bleachers with the rest of class 1-A the matches had already gotten started. It was Midoriya vs Shinso. You hadn't heard of Shinso before, but you've seen him a few times.
You weren't watching the matches, though. You were staring up into the sky. The loud voice of Present Mic was a mere breeze to you.

'What happens if my mother finds me? Does she know I go to U.A.? Does she know I ended up in jail too? Or that I killed people? Does she know about anything? Our quirks are so similar, yet in a one-on-one fight she'd win. Even so, there's no way she could've broken out alone. What about those other convicts, then? Did they help her? What did—'

"L/n?" That soft voice violently brought you back down the earth. The screams blasted through your ear drums so harshly you flinched.

"Yeah? Sorry, I wasn't paying attention," you said, looking down at the arena. Ochaco nodded in understanding.

"Yes... I was worried. The second match is over. Isn't yours soon?" She asked.

"Oh, yeah, totally." You stood up from your spot. "Just watching the Shrek movie in my head to calm my nerves."

"Eh? What—"

"It's all ogre now."

"..."

"I'll be going." You left without another word, knowing your confusion worked. She didn't suspect a thing. As you got farther and farther from people's views, your face fell into a frown. You could hear the starting of the third match behind you. You didn't have enough motivation to watch.

"What's with that face?" You heard a voice call, "You look like you tried to take a shit but the shit wouldn't come out."

"Author!" You exclaimed, seeing her leaning against the wall, arms crossed. "What are you doing here?"

"Making sure you have your shit together."

"... why?"

"Cause I saw the news. Everyone outside of the Sports Festival has. Once this is over, they all will know as well."

"... piss."

"Yeah."

"Can't you rewrite history, or something?" You asked.

"I'm more than capable of doing it," she said. Then she shrugged. "But this sounds like a you problem. So either suck it up and handle it like boss, or go cry like a little bitch."

"Those aren't very good options."

"They're the only ones you got."
You sighed and walked past her.

"My match is starting soon. I'll see you when I get home."

"Have fun child!"

~
You let out a sigh as you stood in the long hallway, getting ready to walk out into the arena.

"Now, it's time for the fourth match!" Present Mic said, "We're just gonna keep rolling along! Rush headlong toward the top!" You walked out and all the way to the cement arena that Cementoss made. Iida stood in front of you, face serious. The crowd cheered loudly around you.

"It's like he's the epitome of the middle of the pack! From the hero course, it's Iida Tenya! Versus—" You let out a yawn. "— she's the baddest cuck of them all! From the hero course, Y/n L/n! She also asked me to say that." You stretched out your back.

"Jiggle jiggle pop, pop my hips, let it rock okay~" You sang as your spine snapped in half.

"Let the fourth match... start!!" Immediately, Iida ran to you, sprinting widely. You activated your quirk.

'He's fast, but I don't need to match his speed. I just need to avoid.' When he came close to you, you arched under his arm that came out to punch you. He ran a few more feet before turning around. This time, he turned around himself and kicked up his leg. He was a mere few inches from you.

You raised your arms and wrapped them around his meaty, muscular leg. That forced him to stop moving. With a loud, effort grunt that you usually save for constipation, you managed to lift him above your head and slam him into the ground.

"UWAAAA!!! L/n managed to stop Iida's movements and delivered an over-the-head throw!! Now that's some monstrous strength!" Iida quickly stood up, but you were on him already. You ran up to him.

You connected your head to his, no doubt giving him a concussion.

You pushed him by his shoulders and he went flying to the other side, scarily close to the bound line.

"L/n pushes Iida close to the out of bounds! Is this going to be a one sided fight?!" Staggering upright, even with his glasses his vision was blurry from the bomb head you gave him.
You looked around the arena from the split second he was recovering.

'This arena is big, but the corners are clean cut, not round. If I use my Cheetah, I'll lose control of my turning and probably tumble out of bounds. Which means...'

"Recipro Burst!"

'OH WELL FUCK THAT I GUESS.' He came speeding towards you.

You dodged his movements, never turning your back to him. You and him were mere blurs to the audience.

"E-EHHH?! WHAT'S GOING ON?! THEY'RE MOVING SO FAST MY EYES CAN'T KEEP UP!!!" Present Mic said.

"It's because they're both using their speed to avoid each other," Aizawa said, "They're not fully aware of what their opponent is capable of, so they're using their speed to keep each other on their toes."

"Nice commentary."

You continuously dodged Iida's advances. Your eyes landed on his and an idea popped into your head.

"I CANNOT SEE I AM LEGALLY BLIND!!" You swiped his glasses off his face, sending them flying across the arena. He stumbled forward, vision blurry. "P.O.P HOLD IT DOWN!" You connected your foot to his abdomen and with your speed and momentum, sent him flying out of bounds.

"Yeah, you can see, barely," you said, reveling in the onslaught of cheers around you.

"Iida is out of bounds! L/n advances to the second round!" Midnight pointed her hand at you.

"OOOHHH!!! A CLEAN VICTORY FOR L/N!!"

"Bop bop bop, bop to the top~" You sang, skipping from the arena. As you got farther from the audience, your cheerfulness slowly withered away.

"Damn four eyes," you growled, eyes slitting. "Should've karate chopped his legs off."
