/LISA/

I noticed disappointment in her face, and I felt guilty instantly. Tonight was probably my only chance to be closer to her, maybe even get to know her more.

I shouldn't have let her down, she's still my date after all.

Hearing the soft, familiar melody playing from the live band's instruments, I smiled secretly.

Maybe a little dance would help.

"I'm gonna refill my drink," Jennie sighed and got up, then quickly turned her heels to approach the bar.

Just as quickly, I stood up and grabbed her hand. Her palm felt so small, soft, and just... perfect in my hand. Before I got lost in her touch, I opened my mouth.

"Dance with me?"

Her pupil dilated, her eyes widen, and she took a sharp breath. I was still holding her hand, caressing its back with my thumb softly.

"But, I don't know how to," she lightly looked down, blushing. What was she so shy for?

"No worries, just follow me," I said, already walking back to the dance floor, dragging her with me. My own heart was beating furiously loud, I was afraid for a second she might hear it.

When we got on the dance floor, I smiled at her. She looked pretty much unsure of what to do, and a little nervous. Okay, maybe not a little. She's a nervous wreck, I could tell by the sudden increase of heat inside her body.

Guiding her hand that I had held to rest upon my shoulder, I whispered. "Relax, trust me,"

Her shoulders slumped down a little bit, her breathing relaxed. I pulled her closer by the waist, and she automatically rested her other hand on my shoulder. Smiling, I stared at her.

Soon enough, the singer's voice cut in.

Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you

I took the time to embrace her beauty, to appreciate how she had perfectly done her makeup, how her dress hugged her small figure, how her eyes sparkled underneath the golden lamps dimly lit above us, and how perfect she felt in my arms.

Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin

"If I can't help falling in love with you,"
Jennie sang, her eyes were clouded with admiration. I felt the need to slap my face square in the face, just to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

Did Jennie Kim just sing that last line to me?

No... she was probably just carried by the soft voice of the singer.

Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be

I took her hand that rested on my shoulder, brought it to my lips and kissed its back faintly. Jennie blushed immediately, biting her lip to suppress her smile. She failed, and only by looking at her cute smile, I grinned immediately.

I took her other hand, both now resting on top of my palms. I stepped back, making some space between us. Then I raised my hand and turn her around, her dress flowed following her gesture. And by God, she looked ethereal right now.

Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you

I raised my hand above her head and pulled her closer, her back now pressing to my front slightly. Not even in a sexual way, I enjoyed the feeling.

My jaw rested just above her left ear, her head leaned on my shoulder as we swayed to the music. My hands were tangled with hers in front of her waist.

"For I can't help falling in love with you," I couldn't help but sing lowly, barely above a whisper in her ear.

Again, I felt her body heat escalated step by step, her heart beating faster than before.

The singer continued to sing the last lines of the song, and we absorbed the moment silently, neither of us spoke nor sang.

When the singer finished the song, the room was back on its previous condition, bright and loud. The audience clapped their hands to show appreciation towards the singer, and she bowed lightly.

The band then continued playing, an upbeat song now echoed around the enormous hall. My eyes quickly wandered towards the glass sliding door on the far left, the night view of Busan was displayed through the transparent door.

I glanced at the lift we had used to get here and tugged Jennie's hand (which I was still holding) to come with me.

"Let's go outside,"

/THIRD PERSON POV/

The two women had decided to take the lift to the rooftop.

Stepping out of the metal box, Lisa and Jennie walked side by side towards the waist-high wall that stood around the building's rooftop.

Busan at night was beautiful. City lights decorated the ground as if they were reflecting the stars above. From their point of view, they could see the Busan Tower standing proudly in between the buildings.

Lisa instinctively grabbed Jennie's hand and intertwined them, walking closer towards the wall barrier. Then they stopped when they reached it, silently cherishing the view Busan offered in front of them.

"Thank you for the dance," Jennie spoke up, her voice small and shy. "That was my first since my dad."

"Your first dance?"

"Yeah, I never got to go to prom," Jennie admitted, a hint of red crept upon her cheeks.

Lisa nodded slowly, even though she was finding it hard to believe. Like, a woman as beautiful as Jennie never went to prom? Never had a dance? That's just downright unbelievable from start to finish.

Nevertheless, Lisa was glad to be Jennie's first-since her dad.

"That's okay, I've never either," Lisa smiled at Jennie.

Then Jennie remembered that Lisa had been homeschooled since she was young.

"But that wasn't your first dance, am I right?" Jennie asked, and Lisa only smiled without giving any answers.

Jennie only rolled her eyes, because she knew she was entirely right, whether Lisa admitted it or not. Lisa had moved so fluently like dancing was within her blood and bones, and she made Jennie feel less anxious, more relaxed.

Lisa perhaps had danced a thousand times with that ex of her, and Jennie shouldn't have felt jealous but there she was, trying her best to calm the rumbling thunder inside her body.

A sudden thought flashed across Jennie's mind, and she opened her mouth to talk, but then closed it right after.

The question was embarrassing and not quite necessary.

"What is it?" Lisa asked suddenly, noticing the way Jennie's mouth opened and closed a second after.

Without Jennie knowing nor sensed, Lisa had been staring at the goddess beside her since they arrived on the rooftop. She was right, Jennie was ethereal. She was even more beautiful up close, with the moon smiling above her head.

"If it wasn't me, would you still dance with her?" Jennie asked and bit her lip as she waited for Lisa's answer.

"No," Lisa admitted truthfully. "If it wasn't you, I wouldn't bother to ask anyone else to go with me."

Jennie blushed, hard. Even Kai had never made her feel this way, but then again, it was inappropriate to compare Lisa to Kai—he would never reach the bar Lisa had set too high. No one would ever.

Jennie realized that she's one lucky lady, to have Lalisa Manoban beside her in a place where no one could interfere. Where there were only two hearts beating, almost in the same tempo, hers and Lisa's. Where there was no one but them and the moon and the stars, silent witnesses of them slowly falling into each other's heart.

"Why?" Jennie asked quietly, averting her gaze from the view beneath to Lisa's perfect side profile.

Lisa seemed to be thinking for a while before she turned her head to face Jennie. Something sparkled inside her eyes, similar to the way the stars twinkled above them.

"Because, Jennie," Lisa faced Jennie completely, and Jennie did the same. The distance between them was almost non-existent.

Lisa took Jennie's trembling hands-perhaps caused by the chilly wind-and held them with her own.

"I like you, a lot," Lisa confessed boldly, with no hesitation whatsoever.

"I like you since the first time we met. I knew you'll eventually find a way to my heart," The heir of Manoban Corps smiled softly, even though her heart was beating abnormally fast.

"And I knew that I'll eventually let you in."

Lisa's words flew with such sincerity and transparency, Jennie felt her eyes slowly burned with unfallen tears.

Jennie looked at their hands—her hands resting on top of Lisa's palms comfortably, and Lisa held it with such gentleness.

Lisa was flame and the ice cage Jennie had built around her heart all these years melted right away, granting Lisa a red carpet towards her pulsating organ.

"I feel the same," Jennie muttered, her gaze still locked on their hands.

"Oh God, I really do like you a lot," Jennie finally said, louder and surer than before. Jennie was smiling so wide her gum was showing-Lisa called it the gummy smile.

Lisa grinned, her heart swelled with happiness. She then quickly pulled the shorter girl closer to her chest, her arms draped around her shoulders. Jennie wrapped her arms around Lisa's waist as she cried of happiness.

Her head comfortably rested upon Lisa's chest, her cheek in touch with the black-striped-golden tie Lisa was wearing. Jennie could hear Lisa's faint heartbeat, and she was glad that Lisa felt the same way she did.

She was glad their hearts were beating at the same pace, tempo, and reason.

She couldn't be happier tonight, knowing that Lalisa Manoban reciprocated her feelings-something she had considered impossible before. Guess that the world decided to surprise her.

Lisa pulled back when she noticed Jennie's sniffles escaping her mouth faintly.

"Hey, don't cry," Lisa said as she cupped Jennie's face in her hands, making Jennie slightly looked up to meet her eyes. Had Lisa mentioned their height difference was cute?

Ever so delicately, Lisa wiped the tears off of Jennie's cheeks. Jennie felt a warmth spreading on her face within Lisa's touch.

"I'm sorry, I just can't believe this is happening," Jennie whispered, her warm breath hitting Lisa's face slightly.

"How can I make you believe?" Lisa whispered, her eyes looking so intently into Jennie's cat-like ones.

Kiss me, Jennie thought to herself but didn't have the courage to say it out loud.

"Alright," Lisa smiled softly before leaning in.

Jennie was about to ask if she had said it out loud when Lisa's lips crashed with hers.

Somehow, somewhere, Jennie could hear a thousand of fireworks exploding. Even though Lisa's lips were barely moving, the feel of their lips pressed together was more than enough to make her insides exploded in happiness. Then Lisa slithered her hands on Jennie's waist, while Jennie's were finding their way to Lisa's nape, pulling Lisa impossibly closer.

Lisa's lips were just like Jennie had tasted in her dream. Soft, plump, and addicting. Jennie could taste the aftertaste of red wine Lisa had drunk earlier, and the salt hint of the garlic muffins they had eaten. Those made Lisa's lips more addicting than they already were.

The kiss, which had been unprogressive since the start, escalated quickly when Lisa decided to take it to the next step. Lisa's mouth moved expertly and intimately, teasingly sucking Jennie's lower lip. Jennie kissed her back, doing a similar thing to Lisa's upper lip.

A muffled moan escaped Jennie's mouth as Lisa bit her lip softly, and Lisa took it as a chance to slip her tongue inside Jennie's warm mouth.

The way Lisa's lips felt against hers, the way Lisa's hands held her waist so protectively, and the way Lisa's tongue slow danced with hers, were more than enough to make Jennie's head spun in dizziness.

Lisa then suddenly pulled back, her eyes staring at Jennie's features.

Jennie's cheeks were flushed in a deep shade of pink, her lips swollen and red, and her eyes were mirroring Lisa's; full of adoration and unsaid feelings.

"You're beautiful," Lisa breathed out, herself seemed like she hadn't fully grasped the fact that she had just kissed the most beautiful girl she had ever laid eyes on.

How about Tzuyu?

Lisa internally groaned at the small voice in her head. Right now isn't the right time to talk about her. Not even to think about her.

You promised you're going to love her forever, remember?

Lisa tried to push the voice deep into the back of her mind, or even better, out of her fucking mind. Her heart started to feel heavy, her breathing quickened as she recalled the last she saw Tzuyu alive.

Blood spread all over her nightgown, her face frozen in shock and horror, her eyes screamed terror-the night Lisa realized she had failed miserably in fulfilling her promise to protect Tzuyu with all her being.

And suddenly, Lisa hesitated. Could she let herself drown in another commitment? Relationship? Could she treat Jennie how she deserved to be treated? Could she give Jennie the world? Could she protect Jennie like how she should've protected Tzuyu years ago?

Could she love Jennie?

Those questions remained unanswered because she felt Jennie leaning in again and soon enough, their lips met in the middle.

Lisa felt all her doubts went away.

All the questions subsided.

Because she might couldn't give Jennie what she needed right now, couldn't let herself into another commitment and relationship, nor could she love Jennie right at this moment and promised her the world.

But she believed that she would learn, she would try harder, to give Jennie everything she deserved. She believed that eventually, she would love Jennie; more than she had ever loved anyone before.

She believed in herself, and there's nothing more powerful than that.

"Stop, you think too much," Jennie murmured, her lips brushing against Lisa's.

"Sorry," Lisa replied, feeling guilty immediately

"Kiss me," Jennie murmured again, and Lisa obeyed immediately.

Lisa had never thought she would ever in her life submitted herself so fast into someone, but there she was, holding Jennie in her arms and not even thinking of letting the brunette go.

They both pulled back when there was no oxygen left to breathe in.

Jennie prayed to the Gods that right at this moment, Lisa would ask her to be her girlfriend. To be hers, even though Jennie was well aware she's already Lisa's long before this happened.

"Jennie?"

Jennie's heart thundered heavily.

"Yes?"

Lisa sighed before looking at Jennie with hopeful eyes, "Do you mind taking this, us, slow?"

A part of Jennie sunk, but the other part arose with such hope.

Despite that Lisa wasn't asking what Jennie hoped she was, Jennie felt relieved and happy. Happy because that meant Lisa was willing to be with Jennie, that she was willing to take steps towards tomorrow with her; and it was enough.

Lisa was enough.

"No, I don't," Jennie answered sincerely.

Jennie caressed Lisa's cheek with her thumb, eyes pouring adoration into the golden, doe-like ones. Jennie smiled before continuing her sentence.

"As long as we're together, I don't mind about anything else."
