the minute i saw light a felt wind rushing past my face. then it stopped as quickly as it came. the second wind stopped rushing past my face i felt a slight pain in my knees and forearms. i look up to see why the was wind rushing past my face and why i felt pain in a few places. what i saw confused me. i was in... a classroom? it didn't look right though. it looked rundown for starters, it also looked overgrown like it hadn't been used in a long time. just where was i? and why was i there? there were windows on one wall, with red barbed wire covering it on the inside, while vines were covering it on the outside completely blocking of any view to what was beyond the glass. there was what i assumed to be a blackboard behind the teachers pedestal though it looked more like a green TV screen, above it there was a projector with 18 speakers on the back. i looked behind me to see an open locker, that must've been what happened. i was in the locker which would explain the utter darkness i was in mere moments ago, when i opened the the door i lost my balance before i could gain my bearings, fell and landed on the floor.

 i decided that staying in here wasn't going to do me any good so i left the classroom with a feeling things were going to go horribly wrong. my feelings were right. the moment i stepped out the classroom i ran into i giant mechanical monster that was painted blue in area's it seemed to have a gun on it's right arm and a tube that attached to head to the gun. the minute i saw it and it saw me, it let out an loud, obnoxious voice "hell yeah! found you!" i started looking around for good ways to escape such as a vent or thin hallway, as i did it laughed "Gah-hahahaha! woooo! hahaha!" was it enjoying this, i soon found there was no clever way to loose this thing, so i decided to do the next best thing. i ran. i heard the mechanical monstrosity behind me repeatedly say wait as if it actually believed i would stoop. i turned right and jumped down a set of stairs to the floor below me, in front of me there was another one of the mechanical monsters only instead of it being painted blue in some parts it was painted yellow in the blue's stead, luckily it wasn't facing me so i ran to the left down a corridor, after that there were two ways to go left and right but to the left there wan another mechanical monster this time painted green, unlike the last one it wa facing me. without stopping i ran to the right, then i turned left, then right, i stooped in time just in time before running into another mechanical monster painted pink, i ran to the left and continued traversing through corridors, left, strait, right, left, left, right strait. i eventually came across a set of double doors, i didn't decided to slow down to open them properly. i sped up. i just wanted to get away from whatever those thing earlier were. i ended up crashing through the door into a wide room, i didn't give time to look around right now. i rushed over to the double doors a came through and slammed them shut in case if those thing didn't see where i went they wouldn't be ale to see me through an open door. i leaned against the wall, allowing myself to catch my breath. it was at this moment i appeared to be in a school gymnasium with 14 other people. i saw quiet a variety. saw a short girl with red hair, a girl with white hair, a tall well built man with glasses, a very short man, and a boy with green hair. 

"15" i heard the boy with green hair mutter, i didn't get time to question it as two more people burst through the same doors i did. the reason this was possible is because by this point i had moved away from the door. the boy that came in was a boy wearing a baseball cap and a girl with shoulder length blonde hair. the other 14 people started talking amongst themselves "ohhh ... more people have arrived" "did you all get chased by that monster, to!?" "o-oh, yeah" "what ... are they? what do they want with us?" "do you want me to check on whats happening?" "you cant! it's to dangerous out there!" "it's likely that monster still lurks nearby...". all of a sudden the girl with shoulder length blonde hair spoke up "w-wait!" 'that was clearly at the top of her lungs' i thought as she continued "who are you guys? why am i here-" she was cut off by the boy with green hair "and that makes 17". okay this guy was confusing me, as i was going to talk, the blonde spoke my mind "what?" the green haired boy started to explain "im talking about us. there are 17 of us - all high schoolers. what do you think that means", i started to think about it. 17 high schoolers. before i could think any further the green haired boy began to introduce himself "oh, right. didn't answer you question. i can give you my name. it's rantaro amami. lets leave it at that for now" he crossed his arms on the last sentence, the guy with purple hair spoke "anyway, why does it matter if there are 17 of us? there might be more coming" rantaro then shot down his idea of there more coming "nah, i think this is all of us. if this is what i think it is, anyway" then a girl with red eyes and black hair similar to me questioned him "... if this is what you think it is?" then a girl with long blonde hair spoke "what, you some kinda fuckin' know-it-all. if you know somethin', spit it out!" 

before anyone else can talk an unknown voice rang through the speakers "okayyyyy, quiet everyone! shimmy down, shimmy down!" then a different voice spoke through the speakers "no, no, no. it's 'simmer down'" then girl blue haired girl spoke confusedly "huh? who's that? where are they?", then five versions of the mechanical monster appeared around the group of high schoolers they all had parts painted, a different color for each one, red, blue, yellow, pink, green. all five of the monstrosities spoke in unison "kyahahahaha! thanks for bearing with us!" the blue haired girl screamed in fright as everyone began to freak out, "damn it! there are more monsters! we're surrounded!" the red mechanical monster then corrected him "these aren't monsters. they're exisals" i then finally managed to get a word in "ah yes! because we all know what 'exisals' are" i said sarcastically. the yellow exisal then spoke "they're highly mobile, bipedal weapon platforms" "weapons!?" the boy with baseball cap asked frantically. "should we take these for a spin by killin' one of 'em!?" the blue exisal asked ever load and obnoxious. "gyaaaahhh!!! wait a minute" frantically spoke by a girl with dark green hair with a tint of brown. "it wouldn't be any fun picking on plain, good-for-nothing commoners!" the same girl tried to reason with it clearly frightened, key word tried as all that did caused the blue exisal to say "your right. we should at least think of an interesting way to kill you. maybe i'll pick ya up and squeeze till you guts come gushin' out like toothpaste!" this caused the girl to become more frightened "p-please! not like toothpaste!" then the pink exisal spoke "urgh... i just imagined it. i cant handle the gore" the yellow exisal thought of another way to kill us "then what if... we start peelin' off their limbs one by one, like string cheese?" this frightened the girl more than before "please, not like string cheese either!", then the red exisal spoke up "wait! we can't kill them in the exisals. according to the schedule, the exisals aren't supposed to show up till later!" the yellow exisal the pointed out that their in the exisals to which the red exisal replied with " oh! so we are!" the pink exisal spoke next "we screwed up. we're not supposed to be in the exisals for our first appearance" "i told ya we should have read the script!" the yellow exisal then pointed out that he didn't. the pink exisal suggested that that they get out the exisals now and that it should be to late for that, to which the red exisal agreed. then the heads of the exisals opened as five very small, multi-colored bears jumped out each white with the same color as on their respective exisal.

when all of them landed they spoke in unison "rise and shine, ursine! with our power combined, we are the monokubs!", the only thing going through my head was. what?.

"see? we're outta the exisals. now we're not scary anymore, right? right? right!?" monotaro said he sounded like he was getting more desperate,"his desperation is strangely terrifying...!" monophanie commented on monotaro's behavior. "you punkasses better brace yourselves!" monokid yelled as load and obnoxious as always , "and he's just outright terrifying!" monophanie. "im a messenger from hell from the depths of hell, here to drag ya own to hell!" monokid said trying to sound scary or cool. "no, no, monokid, you're saying 'hell' to much. it's ruining the hellish impact!" monosuke said being annoying. "eh? what's hellish mean?" monotaro said confused

"h-hey... what's up with these stuffed animals? how are they moving?" the guy with purple hair spoke everyone's thoughts, then the blue haired girl with glasses answered his question "i-i have no idea". "moving stuffed animals..." said the girl with hair and eyes similar to mine, "and on top of that, it seems their calling themselves the 'monokubs'" the very short man added to her statement, then the shoulder length blonde hair girl spoke up "wait! you guys call yourselves... the monokubs?". i noticed monodam stayed silent throughout this entire ordeal, and remained silent. monotaro then said "oh... don't bother asking monodam. he only talks to close friends. those years of abuse have really done a number on his heart. isn't that right monodam?" monotaro asked trying to get his brother to talk, however monodam remaining silent both shocked and saddened monotaro "m-monodam! you won't even open your heart... to me!?". rantaro thought for a moment before speaking "looks like i was right" he said confirming his earlier thoughts "this is exactly what i thought it was. but who's behind all this? why the ridiculous theatrics-" rantaro was cut off but the obnoxious monokid "gahhh! shut up, you! all o' you are reactin' way to normally to this! it's boring!" then monotaro noticed something "actually... dont their clothes seem kinda boring, too?". monosuke then thought of something "wait a minute... ya think they been given their first memory yet?" "huh that shoulda happened before they woke up..." monotaro. the shoulder length blonde hair girl tried to get an answer out of them "hey, answer my question! if you guys are the monokubs, then-", monokid cuts someone off once again "hey! who the hell are you punks!?" this shocked the girl trying to get an answer, letting out a "huh?", then the sage color haired woman with bangs asked "what do you mean?" she however didn't get an answer as monosuke asked a question "we're just wondering... do you guys have ultimate talents or anything like that?". i thought for a moment, as everyone went around saying how they didn't have an ultimate talent. i do. i decided to keep it a secret under the lie of "im not skilled at anything", us saying that we didn't have an ultimate talent set monokid of "i knew it! they haven't gotten their first memory yet!", then monosuke pointed something out "monophanie... weren't you in charge of that?" as they all started to talk i began to zone out and think. my name is (Y/N) ludenberg, i have a sister named celestia ludenberg, she was the ultimate gambler, while im the ultimate-. i was brought out of my thoughts as a light surrounded me. i was confused as hell, maybe i should have been paying attention. by the time the light vanished i was in completely different cloathing. i looked around to see every other person also had a change of clothes as well, i once again began to zone out, but i should have been paying attention again as i looked up i saw this device, a second after seeing it, it produced a blinding light, the minute i saw that light pain shot into my eyes, and the pain then traveled to my head. and then.

i looked down to see what i was wearing. i wore black dress shoes, plain black socks, professional black trousers, a white dress shirt, a green tie, and a pair of leather, finger-less gloves with a design resembling scales, and a hat.

i decided to leave to room, finding nothing else useful in there, upon leaving the room i found that the hall way was just like the classroom, heavily overgrown, rundown, red barbed wire covering the windows. the only differences was that there were plants growing from the floor, and there were no vines covering the outside window, allowing sun to come through, though i still couldn't, see out them. it was then that i realized that the inside of my jacket felt a slight bit heavier than it should, specifically my lower left. i opened my jacket to where it was zipped up a quarter, so i could reach inside, feeling a inner pocket i reached inside to find a sort of mini tablet. i turned the tablet on as it displayed to word "monopad", after turning on it displayed multiple different functions in the order of a map, truth bullets, present, report card and school rules. truth bullets? i decided to shake it off for now. turning the monopad off and placing it back where i found it, i zipped up my jacket and started walking. or i would be if i was not stopped by five multi colored bears. "hey! so we're in a bit of a rush so we'll make it quick!" the red one said "w-what?" was all i managed to get out before the red one started talking again "we're the monokubs and you need to meet 16 other ultimates. bye!" and with that they disappeared as quickly as they appeared. i was left speechless, deciding not to question what just happened, i began to move.
