"Hey." I answered the phone.

"Hey. Do I still need to come and fix your truck?" Luke asked through the phone.

"No. I got it fixed." I said while pulling another grape from the stem and popping it in my mouth.

"Oh. By who?"

"The guy whose house I broke down at." I said.

"What?" Luke asked. I could hear concern and jealousy in his voice.

"The guy who lived there helped me fix it." I stated.

"Um okay. Well. I'll be over at your house in ten. I'm on my way back from the airport. Chris cancelled today." Luke said.

"Okay. See you soon." I smiled into the phone and he hung up. I finished the bowl of grapes and put it in the sink.

A couple minutes after I sat down on the couch, Luke knocked on the door.

"It's open!" I yelled. He opened the door and walked in. He sat down on the couch next to me without saying a word. I turned off the TV, having been unsuccessful to find anything to watch. "What's your deal?" I asked, sitting up to look him in the eye. Apparently I snapped him out if the thoughts.

"Hm?" He asked innocently.

"Luke. Don't play stupid. What is it with you?" I sighed.

"Nothin. I just don't see why you didn't wait for my help." He stared into space.

"Oh my god! You're jealous." I shrieked.

"I am not jealous. I'm just very capable of helping my girlf-. Best friend. With truck problems." Luke corrected himself. Did he just almost call me his girlfriend?

"Luke?" I questioned.

"Yes, Em?" He looked at me.

"Did you just call me your girlfriend?" I asked shyly. What the hell? I'm never nervous. I felt my cheeks get red.

"Uh. Yeah. Sorry." Luke apologized.

"Luke I almost called you my boyfriend earlier." I admitted.

"When?" He asked with concern.

"When I had to try and explain to the guy that I didn't need his help." I smiled slightly.

"Really?" Luke asked. I nodded and leaned forward along with Luke.

Sooner or later his lips touched mine and we were kissing. It wasn't like any other one we had shared before. His hands found my hips and we were interrupted by the jangling of keys by the laundry room. My parents' voices rang throughout the house as Luke and I ran to my bedroom.

"Em's truck is here, but she probably went to Luke's." My mother said to my father as I closed my door quietly.

"Wait. Where's your truck?" I asked Luke. I locked my door. Luckily, the people that lived here before us had put sound proof crap in the walls and underneath the door, so unless Luke and I did more than kiss, my parents wouldn't know we were home.

"Chris dropped me off." Luke smiled. I nodded and walked over to him. Our lips connected almost instantly and we had a heated make out session that lasted for about 15 minutes.

"Em?" Luke said softly, briefly breaking the kiss.

"Yeah?" I asked nervously.

"Wh-what are we?" He whispered.

"I don't know. What do you want us to be?" I leaned my forehead against his.

"I don't know, but we can't go like this forever. Em,-" Luke started another sentence, but I cut him off.

"Luke, I like you. Always have. Hell, I love you." I smirked.

"I love you too." Luke smiled and kissed me again.

After awhile we snuck out and went to his house. Considering my parents already thought we were there, it didn't matter.

"Hey Mama." Luke said as we walked into his kitchen.

"Hey, y'all hungry?" She asked. Luke looked at me for permission to give his answer. I smiled at him and he answered with a nod. Of course. He's always hungry.

Mamaw gave us plates and served us up supper. Luke and I ate quickly before heading out down to the farm in his truck.

I put a bunch of throw pillows and blankets in the bed of the truck and Luke took off down the dirt path.

We arrived down by the trees and Luke parked the truck. He turned on the radio and turned it down for background music. We laid in the truck bed and stared up at the sky.

"It's beautiful." Luke smiled.

"Definitely. Remember how many nights we would stay out here in high school?" I laughed.

"Yes. Remember that time I pushed you in Flint river?" Luke asked.

"Yeah. I'm gonna get you for that." I teased.

"Em, it's been four years. I don't think you're ever gonna get me for that." Luke smirked.

"I'm so glad I didn't make any girl friends." I smiled.

"Why?" Luke asked.

"You're all I need." I smiled at him. We were sitting up leaning against the cab of his truck. Luke leaned in and kissed me. I smiled and pulled away.

"It's getting late." I noted.

"Yeah. Let's go back up to the house." Luke said.

The ride back up was silent. I helped him carry all the stuff inside. I put on a pair of his basketball shorts and his shirt and laid in his bed.

"Goodnight." He whispered before turning out the lights and laying next to me.

"Night." I whispered as he wrapped his arms around me.
