Em's POV:

I woke up to an empty bed and the door was cracked halfway open. I got up and stumbled to the kitchen.

Momma, Daddy, Luke, and Maddie were all standing around the center island.

"There's Sleeping Beauty!" My daddy smiled. I hugged him and went to pour myself s cup of coffee.

"Listen up kids. Your daddy and I have a surprise for you." My momma said. Maddie and I clustered around the counter and smiled at each other. "We're going camping this weekend!"

Maddie and I jumped up and screamed. It's been forever since the last time we all went camping.

"Luke sweetie you're welcome to come along." My mama smiled eagerly at him. I stared him down trying to tell him with my eyes to say yes. He got the hint and nodded.

"I'd love to come Mrs. Nelson." He laughed as he looked at me.

I winked and he rolled his eyes. My coffee was almost gone and was starting to get cold.

"Y'all go pack up! We leave in a couple hours." Daddy shouted. Maddie ran off to her room.

"Where are we camping?" I asked.

"Same place as last time." Daddy smiled and kissed he top of my head. This was gonna be so fun. There was a lake with a huge dock and a rope swing and everything. We could go tubing and jet skiing.

I ran to my room and started to pack clothes. Luke walked in and sat on my bed.

"You are really excited." He laughed.

"I am!" I smiled and threw the pile of clothes on my bed. I dug through my drawer to find a pair of jeans and a tshirt for today. I took off my sweats and tank top and began to put on the jeans. "Don't look."

"Em, I've seen you a lot more naked than that." Luke smirked. I rolled my eyes and kissed him on the lips. "So um. What's the deal with you and Jack?"

"Well I mean I guess we're dating, but I don't know. He never really asked me." I sighed.

"Please break up with him Emilee." Luke looked down at the ground.

"Luke he hasn't done anything severely wrong." I argued.

"Em he beat me up yesterday. I broke up with Jen in high school when you asked me too." Luke rebutted.

"That's different. You're leaving again Luke! I don't have anyone anymore. It's too hard." I sighed.

He looked at me for a minute before he spoke again, "Then move to Nashville with me."

"What?" I looked at him puzzled.

"Move to Nashville Emilee. You won't have to be alone. You'll find a job there. If your parents absolutely want you to go to college then you can go to a community college or go to Vanderbilt. Please." Luke was standing up now and holding my forearms. He had a pleasing look in his eyes.

"Okay." I smiled.

"Really?" He smiled back. I nodded and kissed him slowly.

"I have to ask my parents though first." I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"And you have to drop things with Jack." Luke smirked again and pulled out my phone.

"Over the phone?"

He nodded.

"You are one cruel person." I laughed.

"I want only what's best for you." He kissed me on the cheek. "Now get rid of Jack and get to packing. I'm gonna go pack some stuff. I'll see you in a couple hours."

I kissed him on the lips and smiled. He left the room and headed home. I called Jack. Voicemail. I sent him a text breaking things off and went to packing.

Everybody was ready. The truck was packed up. Luke was on his way back over.

I sat down next to my daddy and Maddie on the couch. Momma was finishing things up in the kitchen and sat down across from us.

Luke walked in with a nervous look on his face. "Em, did you tell Jack that you're done?"

"Yeah why?"

"He just pulled up in the driveway." Luke pointed towards the front of the house. I stood up quickly and walked outside. Daddy and Luke followed me out.

"Emilee?" I heard Jack call my name.

"Jack." I said.

"What the hell?" He asked and held up his phone.

"Look. I don't want to be in a relationship with you. It's over." I told him.

"No. Over the phone? Now you're tied down. I'm not letting you do this." Jack snarled.

"Im afraid son you are." My daddy came or from behind me with his shotgun. I smiled.

"And who are you?" Jack asked cockily.

"I'm her daddy. And if I say things are done, things are done." Daddy pointed his shotgun to Jack's arm.

"Thats not even loaded." Jack laughed.

"Wanna bet?" Daddy asked. Jack cocked his head to one side and sat there. Daddy raised his gun and aimed at the sideview mirrors of Jack's truck. He pulled the trigger and the mirror shattered. "Now get outta here son."

Jack nodded and left in his truck. I smiled at my dad and walked inside with Luke.

"He gone!" My daddy shouted when he walked in the house. Momma and Luke laughed. "Let's get going!"

We all piled into the truck and left for our camping trip.
