"Wait hold on, what?" My roommate and best friend Jess stared at me with wide eyes. "Explain that again. I don't think I heard it right."

I shot her a look. I've already told her twice about my surprise visitor at my brothers two nights ago. I took a big sip of my wine as I leaned back into the couch.

"Wow that's just...wow."

"I know." Jess was one of the only person in my life who really knew what happened between Logan and I, as well as my feelings towards him. My past feelings. Wasn't like I could go up to my brother and tell him I had a crush on his best friend for years. Yeah, no that wouldn't go over well.

"So, is he back for good?" She asked the one question that has been floating in my head the past two days. Was he back for good or only for a few days? Christmas was around the corner so maybe he was back for a bit.

"I'm not sure." I mumbled, looking at the tv but I wasn't really seeing what was on the screen. Seeing Logan again has thrown me for a loop.

I've spent the last three years forgetting him and the way we left things. That night played on repeat in my head no matter how many times I tried not to think about it. I thought I had a handle on my emotions and that the next time I saw him I wouldn't be affected. How wrong was I.

"Okay don't throw anything at me but...is he just as attractive as I remember?" Jess asked. Glancing over at her I found her looking at me with raised eyebrows. "Well?"

I wanted to say no. I wanted to say he got ugly and was now bald or something but it couldn't be further from the truth. In fact he looked even better than he did three years ago.

"Yes." I grumbled into my wine glass.

"Damn." I couldn't help but laugh at her groan.

I've known Jess basically my entire life. She lived two doors down from me since we started kindergarten and as soon as we saw each other on our front lawns all those years ago, we knew we would be best friends. We have always been attached to the hip, even when she went to a different college than me.

While I went to Dartmouth, Jess went to Brown University a good two or more hours away. It sucked having my best friend far away from me but daily FaceTime calls and monthly visits we still remained best friends.

And now here we are years later still friends and roommates. I had my own bakery and Jess was an intern at a Law Firm in town. Despite Burlington, Vermont being 'smallish', the Law Firm she was interning at was rank one of the best ones in the U.S. The fact she got an internship there was beyond impressive.

"So ,what's the plan?" Jess stretched out on the couch, putting her feet on my lap. She looked at me over her wine glass.

"Plan?"

"Yeah. Are we planning on ignoring his entire presence? Are we going to do some sort of revenge? Make you look totally irresistible so he has no choice but you fuck you right then and there?"

At her words I threw my head back laughing. Only Jess would go from ignoring Logan to fucking him. This is why I loved her.

"I think we'll hold off on the last one." I shook my head. "I doubt he'll be here long so ignoring and avoiding will probably be the best." I wasn't expecting Logan to stick around long anyways.

"I can rough him up a little if you want. I have these guns for a reason." Jess lifted her arm and flexed her non-existent muscles.

"Yeah a 6'2 ex-marine will tremble at the sight of those muscles."

"Sarcasm doesn't look good on you babe."

"That's mean!" I shoved her foot.

"You were mean first. I have plenty of muscles."

"At least I tell the truth."

"Olivia Mikelson." She tried to look offended but seconds later burst out laughing. Going back and forth like that was nothing new to us. My brother once heard us and thought we were fighting until we both fell to the floor laughing at the stupid insults we sent each other.

It took a good five minutes for us to calm down from our laughing fit. My stomach ached and I had tears running down my cheeks. Wiping my face I laid my head back on the couch and looked over at my best friend.

"I mean it though Liv. I'm here for you." I sent her a small smile.

"I know." Not wanting to put a damper on the night I nudged her leg. "Come on The Rock let's watch Gossip Girl."

"Damn righ,t I am The Rock." Jess made a 'HA' noise as she kicked her leg up, almost hitting me in the face. Laughing I shoved her legs almost making her fall off the couch. "Hey you almost spilled my wine you bitch."

"You almost kicked me in the face, bitch." I shot back.

"Not my fault you don't have fast reflexes."

"Want me to take your wine? Cause I will." I sent her a look.

"Lets just start the show." She grumbled, reaching over to grab the wine bottle and held it tightly to her chest.

With a grin I started our all time favorite show happy to have someone like Jess in my life.
